Would anyone care if they wouldn’t play “Nowhere” this time?

Or “Knives” or “Screamager” or “Diane”?

I mean I love those songs like everyone else here, but they’re really trite by now and T? themselves seem to be sick of them, too.

So why not skip them and play some other brilliant songs that are often overlooked (“Lonely, Cryin’, Only”, “Femtex”, “Sister”, “Straight Life”, “Heaven’s Gate” etc., etc.)

Me personally, no.

But I guess there would be people who wouldn’t like this. Not the typical womble, but those T? fans going to their shows out of nostalgia, to hear those Troublegum hits.

I personally wouldn’t mind but as allroy said all those “nostalgic’s” are there just to hear them. There always seems to be one stupid in the audience who shouts “Nowhere” as if they aren’t gonna play it…

We haven’t heard Diane since Martin left or have we..?

They have done it semi-electric in the past and now they could do “electric/the rock” version of that song because there is no cello-player in the band. Now THAT would be special (at least to me) and it would kick those people’s butt who expects a nice acoustic version of the song…

Yes, I would care. If two songs have to be included in a therapy? set it’s nowhere and screamager.

they played diane at the alive festival this year…and it was not the rock version…it was the “andy-alone-on-stage” version. and i think they will keep playing it this way…although most would prefer the rock version

p.s. i wouldn’t care. they have so many great songs which are worth to get played again. and i think the best thing they were doing was getting dancin with manson in the set…

Being an long term fan I wouldn’t care, I tend to prefer to here stuff I may not have heard live before or for a long time. Remember with them now being a three piece, this might affect the set-lists..! I’m hoping on the current tour mostly stuff off the new album will be played with a few unexpected treats. I also like the idea of asking fans for sensible suggestion via the board.

Broadly speaking, I’d care. But only as much as I care when they don’t play any other song that I want to hear (i.e., most of them…;)). Maybe the question should be less whether anyone would care, and more whether anyone would be outraged? I wouldn’t. *shrugs*

And as for the nostalgia junkies, they might miss those songs, but then again, if they’re not ‘real’ fans, it’s not likely that they’d think ‘but they _always_ play screamager! Why not tonight?!’

True, but when Limp Bizkit did their free gig in London, they didn’t play Rolling, or is it Rollin’, or whatever. The song which usually is accompanied by lovely dancing-type girls. But it didn’t spoil the gig.

Are you saying that people go to a T? gig JUST to hear Screamger and Nowhere? And they just jump around and sing along and get into it because there’s nothing else to do while they are waiting for those songs?

Erm.. no, I’m not saying that at all. Almost the opposite, in fact. I said it’s _not_ likely that they’d bemoan the loss of those songs. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.

It’s been me implying that a bit.
I wouldn’t go so far to say that they’re only waiting for those songs but they’re surely more indifferent to the other material as to Troublegum songs.

last year when I saw them I just couldn’t get enough!

I’d love to hear more songs off “Nurse”…

by the way, I’d definetely swap “Nowhere” for “Opal Mantra”

I think they already extended the set last year. On the May tour shows only lasted about 70-75 minutes. In November they played 90 minutes and more.

But I agree, three hours, 60 songs, less Troublegum. :)

Title: It´s all in the Momentum Mix

It´s all in the Momentum Mix…

They are such a great Live-band because they always mix up, the Selist!

Remember last Tour they Did not play “Die Laughing” for 2 shows…So they have already dropped out the “Predictable” songs before…:)

Ofcourse It would feel a little bit shit, if they did Not Include Nowhere/Screamager, I mean they only have these 2 Hits, that really was Big……and They´re are only 2 Minutes each,..so it´s no big deal to include these 2, I think!!

Also I believe, because the New Album is more close to “Suicde Pact”, it´s good to Have “Troublegum” and “High Anxiety”-songs in the setlsit, to get it more Melodic, You Know!!!
Do U Agree mates—-???

It´s All In The MIX:::!!!!:):):)

@Mis… bad quote on my part. Sorry :)
@allroy… :)

Here’s another point. People who swarmed to T? during Troublegum and then didn’t really care after that. Do you think they would see a gig listing for T? and actually buy a ticket and turn up in 2004? No. Given that during TG T? were playing Brixton and now they play LA / LA2 / Ocean shows that shows (the obvious that) the mass appeal has gone.

So, whilst I can understand playing the tracks that got them big — the reason they are still releasing albums, and have a big following on this message board, and I guess the reason they can still afford to tour, is cos people have bought SPYF, Shameless, HA, NANE. In a set of 20 songs, surely TG should nowadays (and admittedly, away from festival shows) represent at most 4 songs?

I’d love to listen to Gimme back my brain, but yesterdayin Bologna and last year in Florence they played nothing from Shameless.
Last year they played Sister (Fuckin’ great!), but this time nothing from SP-YF
BUT THEY PLAYED LOSER COP AND SKYWARD (ON REQUEST)!!!!!and church of noise and epilepsy!!!!!(like the other two, unlike last year!).
And they didn’t play Diane, it’s ok for me…Nowhere and Screamager were fantastic, are you sure T? are sick of them?? I don’t think so…
Rock on!
