So, who bought the new collector’s edition of Scopophobia?

#

I was just wondering now with the release of Scopophobia, who bought the new edition and wich one of the options apply with them?

(Before changing the message boards’ software in August 2007 this discussion contained a poll, which may return in the future)

As it’s not an essential item to have (when you already own the normal edition) I’m gonna wait with the buy until they have it as midprice (or as a bargain in a second hand store maybe)

Clearly it is a scam of Spitfire to gain a quick buck from the real T? fans but if they really wanted to make some money, they should have issued the CD seperately as well.

Please someone tell ‘em this.

I bought the thing, it’s good to have “back-up” copy and didn’t get rid of the first one as it has autographs of the band members… :D

The same as on the Scopophobia DVD. I guess all talkings between the songs have been cut out from the CD-version.

as a collector, … I couldn’t leave the re-release in the shop!!! :)

@ Evilelvis: the collector’s edition is just the dvd as the first release + a cd with just the audio of the belfast gig on it.

I must be honest, it was never mentioned in Kerrang! that a reissue of this great live set was to be re-released. However, I’m sticking with the DVD. But why Spitfire are doing this is beyond me; Therapy? fans might be loyal but it was never going to get the sales that Troublegum had (I know I’ve said this before, so you’re gonna have to forgive me)so why do it.

I won’t be buying the latest version. Anyway, I doubt if they were in our boots/trainers/slipers, Andy & boys wouldn’t have bothered either.

More sales in general. Re-release it, more people will notice it and, unfortunately, there are enough hardcore fans for every group to make something like this worthwhile. And before someone says ‘no, it’s not inteded for hardcore fans!’: “COLLECTOR’S edition”? The title says it all.
I’m not going near one.

I must say, I would love a good quality official live T? disc. I know Michael said they couldn’t sell the live disc at the gigs for legal reasons, and that makes sense, but I’m sure there is a demand for one amongst the hardcore fans for some sort of official bootleg. Obviously this band is the lads livelyhood, so financial viability is a factor, but a good quality soundboard recording with minimal tweeking back in the studio, packaged in a basic packaging like the Pearl Jam bootlegs and made available at the gigs and through the site. I’m sure they’d shift a few thousand of these. Just a thought.

I find it weird that they feel the need to tell us what we should be collecting, I collect what I want and don’t appreciate being told by the companies what I want

Me too. I agree with WP too that companies deciding what to make a ‘collectable’ item is pretty shitty. Bugs me when dvd’s come out as 2-disc ‘collector’s sets’ but there’s no one-disc set. They then add a premium for use of the word collector. Crappy.

Ah well. It’s not even mentioned on the homepage here, so it’s hardly like the band are supporting the release.
