Your First Album?

#

Started by Kyle Bovine (Kevin Boyle)

hey this thread has probably been done before, but whats evryones first album they ever bought?

mine is a bit embarrassing, it was Def Leppard’s Slang, which although i hate the band now, i still think this is a decent album.

Just to let you know, my second was trailer by Ash and my last was NANE so there is a definate curve of improvement!!!

Kiss-Double Platinum…when it first came out, 1979..I was in Kindergarten..already a metal head. I still have it, the jacket opens up and it had the faces of the band..(too bad it’s a little messed up), the later versions of the record had a cheap jacket where they just crammed both disks into a single sleve.

I think the first album I ever had was Thriller by Michael Jackson, The first rock album I got was Appetite for Destruction,

I got into Guns N Roses about the time they did the Terminator 2 soundtrack when I was about 11 or 12, before that I didnt really listen to music - guess I just hadn’t heard anything I liked.

As I’m an old fart I’ll start with my first cassette which was Matchbox : Matchbox (Rockabilly Rebel, does anyone remember..?) in 1981 at the tender age of 11, first vinyl record was some Jimi Hendrix compilation called “Historia De La Musica Rock” in 1982 and first Compact Disk was Queen’s A Kind Of Magic that was on eighties as well, cannot recall the exact year. Still have all of those.

I honestly can’t remember the name of my first album but it was a greatest hits album of some sort it had Julee Cruise - Falling on it,Aztec Camera - Somewhere In My Heart and Deelite - Groovers In The Heart on it so that must place it around 1990 - 1992.

all three true top albums, but don’t listen to them anymore
(i feel better now, thank you)

first alternative album was infernal love, closely followed by troublegum - bought it a couple of minutes later, in another shop, on the other side of the town i live in.

Public Enemy - yo bum rush the show! I was only seven my brother bought me it for a birthday but i think it was because he wanted it, but i got into it. Not a bad first album, I think then for christmas I asked for the first Beastie boys album and Guns n roses first one, all on my brothers advice. But it set me off on the right route so I have him to thank.
