Prices of the demos and shit

Look, at the end of 1994, when Therapy? was at their commercial height in England (I’m talking chart positions here, none of the Infernal Love singles made the top 20, actually neither did Trigger Inside and Die Laughing, but up until Trigger they all did, even Opal Mantra), the two demo cassettes were cheaper than the Meat Abstract 7’. There were even a couple of items way rarer (is that correct English) which I bet Iris doesn’t even have. At the end of 1994 you could get for the following items:

30 Seconds Of Silence (Demo cassette, 100 only, 1989) 20 pounds
Meat Abstract (Demo cassette, sold at gigs, 150 only, 1990) 15 pounds
Meat Abstract/Punishment Kiss (7’, 1000 only) 30 pounds

Okay, so you have to take in account they now it’s six years later, Therapy? have never been as (commercial) popular as then AND the quality of cassettes doesn’t really improve with age, does it?
As for the 7’, I bought it myself during the Semi-Detached dayz and it was less than 30 pounds, I can tell you.

Finally, the RAREST Therapy? item EVER, you can find Bad Mother in any supermarket compared to this one, is the PLEASURE DEATH 12’ with only 4-tracks on it. This one was pressed before they decided to make another mini-album out of it with adding Shitkicker and D.L.C. (everybody’s favorite tracks nowadays!)

Wiiija WIJ 11 PLEASURE DEATH EP (Skinning Pit/Fantasy Bag/Prison Breaker/Potato Junkie) 12’, only 10 (!!!) white labels exist.

I will eat my entire T? collection if somebody on this board has it.

Cheers, everybody,

T.Skywalker

P.S. Now let’s come to the point: I want to buy those demo-cassettes name any price, I’ll pay it.

yeah, I Stories definitely was Top 20… and I think diane was. can’t remember where Loose got to off the top.

As for the demos — with all this technology, you’d think someone who had them also has a computer and would MP3 them… they would be great to hear…

I didn’t know EPs could qualify for the singles chart. Does anyone reckon Therapy? could regain their commercial success with their next album? Not saying its a good thing it would be good to hear them on the radio to hear some proper rock apart from teh limp bizkit/papa roach/linkin park type genre- boy bands with guitars

or you could just buy a walkman/cd player that doesn’t have a radio and listen to them directly instead.

I have a white label 12” of Babyteeth which is even rarer than the Pleasure Death one if you ask me, ‘cos it’s older. Only 10 of those puppies were ever made too! Still, I’d kill for the Pleasure Death 12” as it would complete the set, if you know what I mean.

I paid 40 UKP for the Meat Abstract 7’ at a record fair in Utrecht, a few years back. And I don’t regret it :) I’ve never seen the demo cassettes, those white labels or the original have a merry fuckin’ christmas single (I do have the bootleg). Other than that I have quite a lot, but there’s always people who have more ofcourse :)

I got the Babyteeth white label about a year ago for only 10 quid! I don’t think the guy selling it knew what it was worth.

lol, i have a triple speed turntable upstairs, it does 33, 45 or 78! just think about that for a second. my favourite one to play too fast is the slipknot album, it sounds a hell of a lot better on 78! so does fat of the land and follow the leader come to think of it. chipmunks do korn on speed. yeah!

I used to play Slayer too slow, until a friend told me it was the wrong speed. I prefered the slow version though ;-)

I remember listening to someone’s Shortsharpshock 12” years ago - it was the first time I had heard Therapy? and I was playing Screamager at 33.3 speed. After a few listens I was beginning to think that maybe it was at too slow a speed, so I changed it to 45 speed and it sounded like they were on drugs it was so fast, but I got used to it.
So, even at the wrong speed, Therapy? sound great!

When I’m really drunk (not often), music always seems to be going much

Wow that would be neat! You’re then listening to Smurfs on drugs or something…haha…gonna try that…
Anyone seen Jack-Ass this weekend…
