I’ve always thought Angel Dust was over-rated, but King For A Day is most certainly one of the most under-rated albums ever.

Fave album is ‘King for a Day…’

Like Alan I thought ‘Angel Dust’ was a little over-rated, but all the albums were great (well maybe ‘We Care a Lot’ wasn’t so great).

The vision was still there - Chuck wasn’t the greatest singer but the music and the songs themselves were fantastic.

I love Angel Dust cause it is just all over the place, Its heavy, its soft, its epic sounding - a fantastic album, infact I LOVE it! - plus I really like Big Jims guitar work on that one!

Saw them once after they released Album Of The Year, they looked really funny at stage as they all had suits… But it rocked!!!
Shame that they call the quits, world could be a better place if they were still around as FNM.

I dunno - they never got round to being crap - There are a lot of watered down versions of bands still knocking around that are a shadow of their former selves - Red Hot Chili Peppers & Metallica (sorry Robby) for example - as much as I dont mind the new stuff they are not a patch on what they once were - Whereas Faith No More were never crap, and we can look back on how ace they were!

Kyuss & Soundgarden were the same

I like their earlier work. But you really had to see them live. I only saw them twice, but both of these are in my top-3 gigs ever by all bands.

And at least we have Tomahawk. I swear some of their latest album could have been lifted straight from King For A Day :)

Yeah - Tomahawk is ace - Duane Denison’s guitar playing is really good on that album - got me listening to the Jesus Lizard again as well!

I dont really like slagging Metallica off as I love that band, and have done for about 15 years now - but If I am truly honest with myself - I just dont think the new stuff is up to scratch - I love Load and Re-Load but I cant listen to St Anger all the way through in one sitting - the songs are too long…

Anyway this is off topic, i was just trying to make a point about Faith No More not ever being crap! :)

I guess it’s an endless discussion, for me personally I was really disappointed when I heard Load and Reload and although the production on St Anger is crap, I love that album… and I still think that they are the best live band out there.

But to be back on topic: I would go for Angel Dust followed by King For A Day :)
