Tilburg

Started by Erik Schepers (Erik Schepers)

I just (well, like two hours ago) got back from the Therapy? gig in Tilburg, and had a great night.

Not only did Amplifier pretty much kick ass (unlike Tacker last year - boring!), as did Therapy? (no surprise there, eh?), but I managed to take some fairly decent photos of the whole thing.

Here’s a sample:

edit: pic removed for being too darn big! - Hooch

And here’s the rest:

The crowd form Brussles was the only thing that would have made the whole thing even better! THe gig Itself was briliant. The sound in 013 is always good. Good setlist, and what an Isolation version! Can’t wait for tonight again:D

You must be joking. Brussels was way better. Andy had to work really hard to get the crowd going.
I don’t appreciate the change in the setlist (like the previous shows: no Innocent X and Animal Bones, but Stories and Sister plus Here Be Monsters instead of Long Distance) that much though Sister is one my favourite live tunes. They should’ve skipped other songs for that.

It was also nice seeing some of you guys gain.
Roxy, please, never let Robby go to a T? show without you again. He starts acting like me:
kissing Sam, singing along totally out of tune and drinking way too much. :p

i agree with allroy and ronald, the gig was fantastic (sund was amazing indeed) but the crowd was just, well not nicely put i know, lame. Apart from a few guys trying to start a pit, people just stood there and threw beer around.

So next year, same quality music but much more booty shaking and it will be a night to remember :)

I was also a bit dissapointed there was no innocent x and animal bones, but Sister and Here Be monsters made that up for me, and… they played Turn :)!!!
The sound in Brussels was really bad, but indeed, the crowd was better there.

Oh, I only wanted to drown you in the bowl. :p

The sound in Tilburg was really excellent, but that’s not what makes a good show for me (unless band and audience are too pissed when the sound’s crap). It comes down to the songs played, the energy the band spreads, and the way the crowd reacts to that. and from that point of view it was a good show but only average compared to others of this tour.

The show in Tilburg was great, although in the AB it was indeed better. I’m really happy they played sister. I even love the song more now :) It was also really nice to meet some of the wombles (again) ! :)

For me the least good show from this tour, although the sound was brilliant…

Anyway in case anyone is interested:

Church Of Noise
Unbeliever
Die Like A Motherfucker
Rock You Monkeys
If It Kills Me
This Ship Is Sinking
Nowhere
Teethgrinder
Perish The Thought
Rust
Here Be Monsters
Turn
Die Laughing
Rise Up
Polar Bear
Sister
Potato Junkie
Screamager

Epilepsy
Stories
Isolation
Knives

An absolute killer version of Isolation (best one I’ve heard so far), but Sister did not sound that great with 1 guitar … and no Babyteeth song, but as they played those in Belgium/Germany that was still ok… I guess the trick is to go to as many shows as possible and then you hear it all :D The last year I’ve heard the entire Babyteeth album live and that kicked ass big time

But as always pretty lame audience in 013, although compared to last year it was already much better I guess…

Big cheers to all the lovely WoMbles out there, special thanks goes to:

Marja: I owe you one ;)
Michael: cheers for the beer my friend and a very happy birthday today :)

and yes.. allroy… cheers for the beers as well, although that was the least you could do for polluting this messageboard every day :p

And a very big cheers of course to Sam, Doug and Molman :D

I must admit I thought the audience was rather tame. When I first saw Therapy? in Hardenberg last year the crowd was a hell of a lot more lively. At least, I remember it that way.

And thanks for the compliments, albeit it’s not so much skill as it is luck, and lots of it.

I really liked the 013 show, best one out of the four 013 T? gigs I’ve seen so far. The crowd wasn’t that bad I thought, way better than at previous 013 gigs. Good setlist as well, good to see the lads liked the gig themselves as well!

Always great to meet some of you WOMbles on tour again, greetings to Robby, Gie, and Ronald!

Back in the office. I quite enjoyed Tilburg! Sound was much better than in Brussels indeed. The audience was a bit lame, but did a good job near the end. For some reason I didn’t meet a lot of wombles, only Robby, Ronald en Gie. Our date will be next year Gie!
