ANyhow, wherever we meet, what time meet? ANyone know what time the support are on?
Well there’s the Royal George which is just down Charing Cross Road but I have no idea what that’s like. Anyway as I have to travel in from Croydon, I probably won’t make the drinks in time so I shall retire quietly from this discussion

About the Wom-meeting…
I just check Tottenham’s site and they are having a game tomorrow, which starts at 19:45. So I guess that The Tottenham is going to be packed…
But what the hell, there’s always a room for bunch of WoMbles, right?
We are leaving today (3,5 hours from now) so I might not be able to checkout WoM…
If nothing else comes up then we will be there around 5.30pm
See you all there!!!!!
Should we make that Royal George. as plan B?

Sounds good to me.
As we’ll be out way before kick-off I doubt The Tottenham will be too packed.
At least I shouldn’t have my Arsenal backpack with me. :o
See you tomorrow.

I’d recomend the Royal George over the Tottenham. The Tottenham gets packed and is more of an overpriced tourist trap. The Royal George is more ‘rock’.
I can’t get there early enough beforehand though. :(

MarkoJii is already on his way to London. He wanted to turn up at The Tottenham around 5.30. I guess I’ll be there as well around that time. If it’s too packed we might give that Royal George a chance.
We should post a sticker st the door with something like “Be careful, wombles inside” so you know where to find us.

Not going to be able to get there until 8 or so, and then going to have to leave straight after afterwards :( Still, will be wearing a green HA t-shirt inside and my g/f will be wearing a strappy top & we’ll probably end up somewhere near the front in front of Michael so if you think you see us, feel free to say hi.

Yep — she walked into the Astoria right in front of me and was up at the bar during Winnebago Deal, looking very hot, it must be said. Also spotted the legendary Krusher.
Great gig — very long, very entertaining.
Popped into The Tottenham beforehand, dunno if anyone did meet up. Saw people wearing black, but that doesn’t really narrow it down, does it?!

Yeah, ears ringing a bit, sore neck, and a few crazy bruises on my arms and back! Really enjoyed the whole evening, and the gig was almost flawless. A few caveats, as you would always expect, but certainly nothing to take the gloss off an excellent night.

So obviously you enjoyed yourself ;)
Thought the crowd took a while to get into things at the start - the anticpated surge when the band came on didn’t happen until well into the second song. My g/f thinks it’s because Londoners are too polite. Shame about the rest of time…
Neil really is a very talented drummer, isn’t he? They picked a good one when they gave him the job!
Some songs I think lacked a second guitarist - as Alex noted elsewhere, Sister was the main one. But all the new stuff worked - had a feeling ‘this ship is sinking’ would be good. Something from Semi-detached or one of the better songs of Shameless would have been nice though, oh well, as always, next tine…
Did anyone else think the set was a bit short? The roadies seemed so spend ages fannying around with stuff and then when the band finally came on they rushed on and got stucj in - I wondered if there’d been some technical hitches slowing things up.
Didn’t meet any WoMbles, but still, good to see the place looking so full.
Ache now and am hoarse and have tinnitus - sure sign of a good night.

Yeah, the vibe in the crowd was a bit subdued at times, and I’m surprised firstly how few people really got into it up front, and that the place was so undersold.
I think I saw Paul Pryor from a distance, (his desc tall with a CBGB t-shirt on), and I saw several people with the green HA shirt and no nearby strap-top-wearing g/f so I don’t know which one was Citizen… guess I should stop being so British and just ask!
I suspect it’s one of those weird things where a lot of us from on here were up front, bruising each other, and will never know it!
As for the length of the set list — I thought it was pretty long, wasn’t it 22-24 songs or so? That’s longer than has been done in the past — and they did play for the best part of 90 minutes.
Interesting that the intro bass line from Rise Up was played as a loop…
My comments about Sister stand, and I think it was made worse that Andy just couldn’t get his vocals on key for that song, but there we go, sh*t happens. :) It was interesting the lack of reaction that This Ship Is Sinking got.
… but incredibly funny that some muppet shouted for Here Be Monsters after the band had already played it! Most amusing. What did Andy say… “… and anyway, clamp it, I’m not a fucking jukebox!”.

We were right in front of Michael all the way through the main set, but I was a bit peeved to see so many green HA t’s there. Will make more of an effort to get to the pub first for the spring tour! (@Hooch - there’s a bit more to it than me being a wuss!). But yeah, I was being very British as well, and didn’t talk to anyone except the lass next to me to check she was okay when she looked a bit squashed.
I thought Andy called the guy ‘a fucking clampet’, being a reference pinched from The Beverly Hillbillies, but I may well be wrong.
Anyone get the set list? Now I’ve got my ipod, I’d like to put it onto a playlist.

Did you buy the red girlie top and take it off and have a blue one underneath? And did I let you through to the very front after the main set? If so, bugger, I did wonder, but was too shy to ask. Sorry if I was pushing a bit too much to start with - I had no-one pushing on my left so was always in danger of going that way. I did try and ease up once I saw the muppet in the blue next to you going mad.
