Pet Hate

Inspired by the top 5 thread - what’s your pet hate amongst T?’s songs? I’m going for Bowels of Love or CC Rider - can’t decide.

There’s not such thing as bad Therapy? song, but if you have to pick one…

Nausea, Teethgrinder & Die Laughing

I always skip 2 first tracks when listening Nurse. I have heard them too many times. Same goes for Die Laughing. They’re all great songs on gig.

There are not many weak t? songs from my point of view, but if they manage to record a bad song, they fuck things seriously up:

body bag girl
deep sleep

are the songs to annoy the hell out of me. I hate them.

Snap - these songs are a bit on the crap side - especially body bag girl… I think the quality control guy was down the pub that day…

D.L.C off Pleasure Death is a pretty weak track,i remember reading in Rocksound around the time of SMFTTYP T? were talking about their all their albums and said originally Pleasure Death was just going to be four tracks but the record wanted more so they could sell it for a higher price to cover recording costs.D.L.C sounds like something they knocked out in 10 mins.

I’m going to defend Deep Sleep if no one else is, suppose when I first heard Nurse I’d not listened to much music (or decent music) at all, and Nurse sounded so weird to me at that time it kind of freaked me out! The production on Nurse is pretty weird as we all know but I think it works, its a sort of creepy atmosphere, odd lyrics, really like the sound of Andy’s voice on it… hey ho. Not that its my fave on Nurse but I still like it.

As for ones I don’t like…

Yep, Body bag girl. But I HAVE to mention

NICE GUYS. If anyone can come up with a defence of that song I’ll be impressed (other than the fact that the band were losing it…). Never liked it, maybe Our Love Must Die overshadowed it.

Thought Last Blast was pretty weak too actually, your thoughts?

How exactly is Andy off key during Dead? I don’t get it. Are we hearing different songs?

However, I think there is a case for Panic. I think the chorus is just wrong. Deffo the poorest tune on NANE.

But over all, Hypermania and DLC have to be T? worst moments I think. (With Or Without You is pretty close too).

The rock version is ok (being a huge Hüsker Dü fan), bur the melodramatic ‘string’ version just sucks.
