I can never understand that. Please explain.
How can you be proud of ‘your’ country?
Maybe I’m a loner or something, but I don’t really feel connected to ‘my’ country. Is it the History or just the fact that it’s your home? Well, I pretty much hate nationalism. Can be very lethal in combination with fantic-driven people.

i think you cannot be proud of your country or your nationality. it’s nothing that you have ‘achieved’, it’s just a status! someone above said it right by writing he was proud of becoming the person he is now by trying his best to do so. Hope you know what i mean…

I’m not proud of England, its a hole. Its shit, full of bloody idiots, a lot of them at my school. We haven’t done anything to be proud of! If it was England that discovered a cure for cancer or AIDS or something like that then I would fell proud because it is doing something worthwhile for the world, but at the moment I see England as a shit hole.

you’re footnote, white psycho, is from an english film depicting two out of work eccentric actors. it’s the art and eccentricity that comes from england of which i am proud.

michael: i never said i supported the nazis in anyway, shape or form. i don’t, i’m very left wing in fact, i have reaad the communist manefesto and understood the objective. i have also studied china’s history of the past hundred years with great interest. i sometimes read cnd magazines. this does not mean i am a communist does it? i sometimes read the economist or the financial times. it is because i wish to have a greater understanding of the world, why some ideas work and why some don’t. naziboy never said he was a nazi, nor has he indicated in anyway other than his nick; which is, after all, a nick; where his true influences lie other than that he is conducting research. what’s the problem? you’ve already stated an answer to his question, so why continue to post on this subject? i doubt wether you are going to change anyone else’s opinion of wether they can be proud of their skin colour or not. in my answer to the original question: if you are happy with you’re skin colour, then of course you can be proud of it, as long as you know that it bears only as much relation to your life as something like which school you went to as a child, and is no reason to believe yourself superior or discriminate against someone with a different colour to you.

on a slightly different note, if you havn’t heard of clawfinger, go and buy their first album, or just download the first track or like go to the website and read the lyrics or something. it was their first realse as a single and went straigt to number one in sweden (the country it was released in) It’s called ‘nigger’. it is about the stupidness of black gangsters and gang members who call each other ‘nigger’ as a term of endearment, though it was a word invented by slave traders which basically means ‘slave’. then the song turns around and refers to white america as ‘the real niggers’. it’s got a great verse riff and you’ll be trying not to sing the chorus for weeks, but do try and get this song, it kinda puts things into perspective.

I wasn’t referring to you, deekoi, when I was talking about supporting the nazis’ ideas. But not only did the nick suggest sympathy for the nazis, he told us that he supported their ideas, that German was the mother language (for an Irishman), and he started a whole discussion of ‘white pride’.
This is only to explain why I, and some others, were offended by this. There were more things besides his nick which caused that.

Just what’s your research about?? About the freedom of opinion, or the reaction against nazis? Please explain, becuase I really start to have doubts about the sincerity of your claims of a research. Are you really that surprised about our reactions?
Let me give another example: Last week, I was in a chatroom, and someone came in without introducing, saying hello, or whatever, and said: what’s the difference between a jew and a pizza?? I won’t bother giving the answer, because this so-called joke isn’t funny at all. Of course, I told him that it wasn’t funny, and the guy asked: are you a hippy? So I ask again: is it really that strange that people have strong reactions against these remarks? I wasn’t involved in the war, neither was my family (at least directly). But I have visited a concentration camp near the city I live (‘Kamp Vught’, or ‘Durgangslager Herzogenbusch’). This wasn’t a destruction camp, but standing next to a table were they used to prepare people for burning, and standing next to the ‘oven’ they used to do it, it’s quite impressive. Standing beside a wall covered with the names of all the people that died during the war in the camp is even more impressive. So please try to understand why people get angry about the claims you made.

its research on how people judge, and are judged.

a title like naziboy usually triggers a reaction in people that causes them to make judgements about this person that cant be justified.

so i tried it here…

and i was right.

only maybe two or three people made a fair judgement…not from my username, but from what i said. the rest of yous guys just made the judgement that i am some kind of stupid pratt, trying to be offensive just for the fun of it.

actually…its quite ironic u guys criticising me

u guys ‘persecuted’ me (only word i could think of), cos of your ideas of me…even thought they werent just. just like the nazis (under hitler control) did back in the day.

my id was naziboy… but u were the nazis (with exceptions)

Well, actually, it’s not fair to start judging most of the people who participate in this discussion the way you are doing now. I agree with Michael that there are more things besides your nickname which started all this.

You start a discussion about white pride, defend the nazis and their ideas and now you ‘whine’ about the fact that we judge you by your nick only. That is, at least for me, definitely not the case.

And if making those remarks/statements were also part of your research I must say you have real bad taste in choosing research subjects.

i said i agreed with EARLY nazi ideals (non of which included oppression, world domination or mass murder), and i never said i was proud to be white, i only asked if it was right for someone to say it…ok i maybe could have phrased the question a bit better (maybe add on ‘in a modern day society’ or something like. most of you guys jumped to the conclusion that im some kind of nazi fanatic with a shaved head and swastikas tatooed on my knuckles…from those.

teethgrinder - the only remark i can recall is ‘the language of the mother country’ remark…if i can remember, that was my first post, and that was meant to be a joke…ok maybe in hindsight it wasnt as funny as i thought it would be. and bad taste in research subjects…what the fuck! how? for choosing a subject that most people would think is to ‘taboo’ to talk about. if i chose to study the effects political propaganda on our youth… i would just be taking the easy way out like everyone else.

Dude, if it’s a taboo topic then there are reasons for it. And I take personal offence at anyone calling England a hole. I adore England and I never want to leave. Most of what I love (and hate) originated in England, and that’s what makes up my personality. White Psycho, try living in a different country. A third world one, or somewhere like america where people have to keep guns in case they get attacked. I think you’d find your small 15-year-old-school-kid mind would be slightly widened and you’d soon be eating your badly chosen words. Feck and arse to you.

Barbie I know that other places are worst off and I know that I’m privelliged but that doesn’t mean that I should think its a good place to live. I find the whole attitude of some people in this country to be pompus, arrogant and other similar words like that. It is nice to live in a warm home and all the rest of it but I just find life here shite. I would like to go to other places and see what its like to live there but its hard when you’re 15 with no job and no chance to travel because of school. Besides you haven’t been to any 3rd world countries, you’ll know about the same as I do on the subject from RE.

Deekoi I know my footnote is from Withnail & I its my favorite film.
‘We are not drunks! We are multi-millionaires! We shall buy this place and fire you!’
‘yes we’ll buy this place and stick a fucking dukebox in it! To liven all you stiffs up a bit!’
