Yeah i’ve no idea why bands like dEUS and T? aren’t bigger than they are when you have lots of pop/punk bands that all sound like Green Day selling millions of albums but as long they keep releasing good albums it doesn’t matter.

my guesses; because they’re only from belgium and not from the uk or the usa or so… because they don’t sound like the liberfuckingtines… because they don’t release records every single year… because they’re not a spectacular-stories-related-band… because…

and now, if you like nothing really ends; go and pick up a copy of in a bar under the sea - it’s a-m-a-a-a-a-z-i-n-g! ;)

I don’t think it’s only because of their origin (though the UK hype machine called NME may definitely help a band becoming big), but because their music is too good. It’s no one-dimensional pop, it’s tricky, sometimes hard to access and only few band can claim huge commercial success with that kind of music (I can only think of Radiohead at the moment).

Well at least the ego of tom Barman is big enough to be an international rockstar.

But sister is right, in a bar under the sea, and especially roses and festival are great.

i agree with you on that one.

remember what made radiohead what they are today. it was that track called “creep” and that was nothing but a crappy pop song with a heavy chord in it. nothing compared to the weirder stuff they did later. a band like deus never released such a stupid pop tune, me likes to think.

maybe another reason for some bands not making it could be they are not sellable on the looks-side. i mean andy? barman? doesn’t work tho’, slipknot are big and so is thom yorke…

Most Therapy? albums after Troublegum were ignored, but I’ve got loads of albums that deserve attention, and some most have never heard before and read briefly.

Vision Of Disorder - S/T
Black Train Jack - No Reward
Suicidal Tendiances (I’ve spelt this wrong)- S/T
Possessed - Seven Churches
Labrat - Ruin It For Everyone
Pink Floyd - Piper At The Gates Of Dawn
Queen - S/T
Levellers - S/T (but like T?, most of their albums got ignored after release)
Obituary - Cause of Death
Death - Scream Bloody Gore
David Bowie - The Man Who Sold The World
Mercyful Fate - Melisa

…that’s just a few. I’ve got others in my collection, but this list will have to do for now.

I think Blur fall into that category as well.

I think, commercially Blur are on their way down because they went from britpop to their own little universe while Radiohead seem to get bigger and bigger.

I had the cassette of that, it was a pretty bad album in general but his singing was the icing on the cake.

Blurs ablums Blur and 13 I really liked but that was mainly because of Graham had more of an infuence on the songs but i thought the new album was shit and really boring
