Helmet will do, as a co-headliner.

Electric Six would be cool along with T?

But…

The way Therapy? is touring now suits me just fine, giving national (not yet) famous acts to open the show.

Anyway, nice thread!

Local H..in the US! but barring that it would still be a great show, if for nothing else than where else would you see a 3-piece and a 2-piece band who both kick so hard?

I’d say The Wildhearts, only that particular dream has come true now.

So Ash. Or Metallica. Or, to be honest, anyone half decent whose fanbase guarantees them a big audience!

NB: for the person who said they wanted to see The Wildhearts and 3 Colours Red on the same bill… that’s not tremendously likely now, shall we say…

This happened at Ozzfest 2002 in Ireland, and no it wasn’t the best show ever. Tool were a big disappointment - as lively and interesting as my love life :(

Really? why were you disappointed? i saw Tool twice and was blown away by the quality of their performance. They are dedicated artists and i cannot imagine what went wrong. I thought that even people who aren’t Tool fans have to admit they are great musicians.
Were at least Therapy good? unfortunately i haven’t seen them live yet.
Hope your love life improves :)

Tool can be disappointing on festivals. Their songs need the dark atmosphere that’s lacking they have to play in blinding sunlight. The brilliant visual also don’t work in daylight. I’ve seen them both indoor and open air and it really makes a difference.

I’m a fan of their stuff and I have their albums. But I couldn’t believe how boring they were. Maynard stood on the spot for an hour and a half, and I don’t think the others moved either. It’s one thing having good songs, but they should have developed some sort of stage presence by now.
Sitting at home listening to their albums is a far more rewarding experience. At least there you can really get into it.

Oh, it rained during their gig too!

Wow, then i was very lucky both times when i saw Tool cuz Maynard was moving to every beat and i have never seen a man dance so great as he does. He was in shorts only and when he would turn we could see all of his back muscles move… Sorry, i suck at describing cuz english is my 2nd language but i just want to say it was very very special and moving with his dancing, video screens, perfect playing for over 2 hours, small venue…
I would expect from them to always play like that, thought they were perfectionists.

I wonder if anyone ever found Therapy dissapointing live?

Okay, maybe Tool weren’t too bad, just a little boring is all. I guess that they would be much better in a small, dark venue. As for Ozzfest, Slayer & System of a Down (and Therapy? of course!) were the best bands that day.

The only Therapy? gig that I was a little disappointed with was probably the Dublin fan-club gig that went out on MTV in 1997 - Andy was off his head, and they played a short set. But they do have high standards to be fair, so even a poor Therapy? gig is miles better than a great gig by most other bands!
