Yeah, I like “Comfort in Sound” too.

It seems like an album with a lot of feeling (if you see what I mean).

I liked the song for which the video had people headbanging and miming in their bedrooms. Pity i have no idea what its called.
Although i have none of their stuff i think Feeder seem like they have a good mix of rocking and slow songs , which is a good quality for a british band to have these days given the amount of whiny crap that could be put in the same category - (coldplay, starsailor- i would rather listen to somebody being sick into a microphoned toilet personally), i suppose “yellow” by coldplay was a nice tune though

Some of their best stuff is on the first album Swim. Perfect Day is awesome, and Sweet 16. After Jon’s death they kinda changed (understandably) especially as Jon called Grant from America the same night he died, but Grant didn’t answer because it came up Witheld Number. Then they found out later that fairly soon after he made that call he commited suicide. Tragic. But even though Comfort In Sound is less rocking it is an amazing album that really grows on your. A good tribute to Jon I think.

For the Feeder fans among us (which includes me!): check out the link below to find out which Feeder album you ‘are’. I ‘am’ Comfort in Sound:

“You’ve been through a lot in your life, but although you remember the tough times and always will, you look to the future with optimism and even a smile on your face”

I can live with this description…

Shade is also an amazing song, both on album and played live.

I already listened to the new album ‘Pushing The Senses’ (out end of January 2005), it’s a winner!

I finally received “Picture Of A Perfect Youth” today and it’s brilliant, far better than let’s say Yesterday Went To Soon. Finally I have The Power Of Love and Just A Day (on a CD besides the Kerrang comp).

Yeah, I have it. It’s a great cd, isn’t it? I especially like the rocking songs, they should do songs like that more often. Overall, the tracks are quite mellow, but still very good nonetheless.

Do you have Picture of Perfect Youth as well? That’s a great album as well, finally all the b-sides compiled on two discs!

and i agree with sister there.you might judge from the single releases but the albums themselves didn’t become mellower.

I read a Feeder interview in last months Q and in the interview Grant said Pushing The Senses was virtually a solo album. He still writes all the music and lyrics.

I’ve never really been much of a Feeder fan i’ve always thought they were a bit dull musically.A friend played me Swim a few days ago and i was surprised how much they were influenced by the Smashing Pumpkins on that album.

Yeah, they were kind of a Smashing Pumpkins with a singer with a GOOD voice, instead of Billy C’s 4 year-old-whine voice.

‘Swim’ and ‘Polythene’ is their best work.
