Question for computer people

#

Started by mr self destruct

Every time I log into hotmail (and it’s just hotmail), a dialogue box repeatedly pops up saying “ADSADCLient31.dll”, asking me to open or save an application.

It’s annoying the piss out of me, anyone know what it is and how I stop it?

Cheers for the info. Not sure how to stop it popping up though. Send a death threat to Bill Gates, perhaps?

He’s used to that. Try bribing him, he’s greedy. ;)

One way to stop it (though not an elegant one) could be to disable downloads, e.g. if you’re using Mozilla you have an ‘Don’t open anything’ option in the menu Preferences/Navigator/Downloads.

If you’re not using Mozilla, you should do so in the future.

I am using Mozilla - but I can’t see a preferences option? Is that the same as Tools/Options?

Ah, you’ve got Firefox, I guess. That’s a smaller Mozilla browser with less functionality.

You get the latest Mozilla 1.7.5 for free here:

Gonna give it a go seen as I can’t get my space invader game working properly, yes I have too much time on my hands. I’ve used firefox before and wasn’t overly impressed, but it was a brief encounter (hehe immaturity rules) at someone else’s house so not exactly an informed opinion.

OK I think Mozilla rules. Although it squishes this site a bit…wonder if its a settings thing…doesn’t do it for others though. I love the whole tabs thing as opposed to new windows, it works so well!

I’ve moved to Firefox a couple of months ago and holy fucking christ on a mother-lovin bike (thanks to motherh for that one) it’s bloody awesome.

There are a few niggles with this site which I’ll fix sooner rather than later and a completely new web standards based version is in the works.

What problems do you encounter, WP?
