Title: my 2 cents. (merged)
Got me thinking few years ago, is it only me or are there those of you who think alike… Wouldn’t it be really cool if THERAPY? gathered all their non-album tracks, cover-tracks, b-sides, re-recordings, etc. (I think there must be at least around 30-40 tracks or so) and release them in a box set. Or as a double album, I don’t care! The point is, every now and then I see some poser, whether it’s disco, electro or big-rock-stars releasing their “greatest hits + unreleased tracks” compilation, featuring their one or two hit singles and just as much radio edit, disco, dub, mix, remix, dance floor versions of the same track, plus two, three new tracks. The same ways with so-called singles. And the “problem” with THERAPY? is that whenever they released a single (and they did that quite often, thank you very much) they had a nasty habit (sarcastically speaking) of recording it with two or three new tracks!!! Some other bands, when they do something similar, they label it as an EP! :) He heh. The only other band that I cared about and that had some good and always-new tracks out on singles were FAITH NO MORE (R.I.P.). Damn, there were so many tracks that they could probably put an entire album out after they split.
THERAPY? have been making a kickass music for over a decade, and for most of fans living around the world it is kind of hard to track it all down. What where when why and so on
Well, I believe that Andy and Co. have been thinking about that themselves, long before that guy from the T? pools or myself asked that, and that it has to do with complications considering record label, legal issues, etc. but I hope that something will be done in near future.
Also, wouldnt it be fun to hear DANCIN WITH MANSON or PERVERSONALITY re-recorded with the new line up? Better production? Inferior sound? Different samples? SUICIDAL TENDENCIES did that back in 93. on their Still cyco after all these years (re-recording their 83. self-titled classic) album, last year ANTHRAX put a pool on their website on which their fans could vote for tracks they would like to hear re-recorded, and they released it on The greater of two evils album. Needless to say, I find them both amazing. When THERAPY? (that is, their record company) released Caucasian psychosis, I hoped that its re-recording album of the original tracks, but hey
Little bit of faith goes a long way.
