Re: megadeth sucked in Other Bands & Artists
A shame indeed, I’ve got really good memories of seeing them live in the nineties three times, and I have a ticket for one of their shows in Holland in two weeks time - they better not spoil the good memories!

Hooch, isn’t there a guideline which says you can’t piss off both OSP in the same post?

Are you referring to Jobrok’s thread, and does this mean that his ticket has been sold?

Bloody hell, that’s just sick - makes me really sad :( Sounds cheesy, but Dimebag is one of my guitar heroes - I just love his style and heavy riffs.
At least four people dead because of some idiot

Re: appetite for destuction - G’n’R in Other Bands & Artists
I’ve recently rediscovered Appetite For Destruction and it’s still a brilliant album. I particularly like Nightrain, Sweet Child O’ Mine and Rocket Queen. I must say I still quite like the Use Your Illison albums as well, especially Part I.

Godsmack - Re-align

Re: best support band (past and/or present) in Other Bands & Artists
Megadeth supporting Metallica back in ‘92 was pretty cool, to say the least!
Some other support bands I enjoyed that come to mind right now are Suicidal Tendencies, Godsmack, Down By Law and Tacker. I pretty much always watch the support bands when I go to a gig, you never know what you’ll discover!

Re: Master of Puppets in Other Bands & Artists
I think Master Of Puppets is brilliant and one of the best albums by any band, ever. I also think it’s good that Sarah is moving house this week and doesn’t have much time to visit the boards.

Re: Best album of 2003? in Other Bands & Artists
Anthrax - We’ve Come For You All
Spineshank - Self-Destructive Pattern
Evanescence - Fallen
Tomahawk - Mit Gas
Counting Crows - Hard Candy

Re: a quick question in Other Bands & Artists
To be honest, for whichever reason ;-), I hadn’t heard anything about them in the media, so I was a complete Tomahawk-newbie going to that gig …and man, am I glad I did! Mind you, this was their first tour supporting the self-titled debut, not the Mit Gas tour…
I enjoyed myself to bits that night and was blown away by the energy of the band, and especially Mike. I now have both their albums, as a result of going to that show. Sadly, I missed them on the Mit Gas tour when they played in Amsterdam again.
I also thought it was quite funny that he was setting up his own equipment before the show :-)
I don’t recall seeing the Melvins, so that’s either due to the fact you were talking about their second tour, or they didn’t make a big impression on me.

Re: a quick question in Other Bands & Artists
Well, actually I decided to go and see them because Mr. McKeegan recommended them to me when he saw they were playing in Amsterdam. I found out at that point that Mike Patton was in the band. However, I don’t really consider that knowing anything about the band as a band is about the music, not about the people, if you know what I mean.
You are technically correct, though ;-)

Re: a quick question in Other Bands & Artists
Well, that’s how I discovered Tomahawk, so I’d say yes, definitely!

Re: What was the last abum you bought? in Other Bands & Artists
No, I have the normal edition (got it last week), but I don’t feel too bad about it as I hardly tend to listen to bonus CD’s like that when I do have them.

Re: What was the last abum you bought? in Other Bands & Artists
I got the first Tomahawk album and the latest Placebo album for my birthday. Haven’t listened to them a lot yet, but I think they’re both pretty good. God Hates A Coward and This Picture are both brilliant songs!

Re: Spineshank/Amen in Other Bands & Artists
I have The Height of Callousness and Self-Destructive Pattern and I think they are both great albums. It took me a little longer to get into the new one, but I like it a lot now after listening to it a couple of times.
Strictly Diesel is still on my ‘to-buy list’.

Re: What was the last abum you bought? in Other Bands & Artists
Sadly, I couldn’t go see Anthrax when they were playing in Holland as I was on holiday then, but I’ve read some good reviews about the gig. Ah well, better luck next time!
I like most songs on SOWN, but the ones that stand out for me are Only (!), Packaged Rebellion, Black Lodge and Sodium Pentathol. However, WCFYA is definitely the favourite Anthrax album I have so far! And we’re in good company, the Evil Priest loves it as well ;-)
Does everyone who has the new FLC album agree with Dano? Haven’t heard it yet…

Not yet, I’ve been trying to get it recently, but older Anthrax albums are quite hard to find (although I haven’t made that much of an effort yet, TBH)
I like Stomp 442 quite a lot. I’ve had Sound Of White Noise for ages now, which is excellent, and their new one We’ve Come For You All is absolutely brilliant! Have you got that one as well?

The reunited a while back, and will release their new album on October 7th, called Collideoscope. As far as I know, all the original band members are back. I have tickets for their show in Holland next week :-)

Re: Metallica / linkin park RDS in Other Bands & Artists
If the fact that you were only going to this gig because a mate wants you to go is none of our business, you shouldn’t post it on the message boards. Duh.
And I’d call saying “fuck you” to someone a personal attack, which is something we don’t tolerate here.
