We keep doing this about new releases. Anyone remember the “poor production” debacle about OCFA? Let’s quit moaning, count our blessings and enjoy what we’re given yeah?
I don´t think that way. But i respect T? to be a true band, and always did things they wanted to do.
T? will be always rockin! No question about it.
But its my right to tell, when i don´t like something they do. I didn´t like the last two albums, and i didn´t like the poll results for reasons i said already.
But the thing is - I am still posting in here, cause i believe in T? and like them as a band. But to be honest, you don´t have to like everything and i think i have to right to say so.

And if you are questioning the band for including Troublegum songs as candidates in the first place, its unfair to judge T? for not playing the songs the hardcore fans want to here, after all why play for the elitists and ignore the wider fanbase?
I am not the only one, who is a bit disapointed by the setlist. I think they could have done better including less “hit songs” and more unusal stuff. That would have make a better compromise and most people in here would be happy, i guess. But i just will hear 2 new songs out of ten, which i never have seen played live before. Some people would say. “hey two songs great” but i say “Two songs? why not more?” and its my right to do that i think. I know that i won´t change anything, but i want to say what i am thinking.
I hope the band respects that and perhaps if there is something like this in the near future she will be thinking about it, how to handle that.

What do the wombles think?

Tatty, where did it say they were doing this just for the ‘real fans’? And what exactly is a ‘real fan’? Therapy? are doing this for whoever wants to listen to them, hopefully attracting some new folks along the way.
I know what you mean. I know they need money to do things like that.
You are right, everybody has his own definition of a “true fan” but i think after recieving the similiar posts at the last voting poll they shouldn´t have just put every hit song in the list to vote for. If they know, that they pissed of some of us, they could have been doing a compromise. That would have been just not all of the regular hit songs and more of the others to vote for. Cause they knew that the hits would be voted for. So everybody would have been happy.
I am not the only one, that is disappointed here.
But i think emotional arguments are not good arguments. So i will do a poll myself to see what wombles think of the webgig votings.

It should come as no surprise that the regulars from Troublegum and Infernal Love will always be chosen in polls like these, as they simply are the most popular T? songs, and most people don’t have the opportunity to see T? live often, or at all.
But why do they even let us choose these songs? just for non regular people? I don´t get it, i´m sorry. This time i am not on your side. If they really wanted to something for the real fans, they wouldn´t have let us choose so many “hit songs” in first place. Secondly if they let choose anybody, also the people that don´t get the chance to see them live, they could let us vote for some hit songst, but not just all regular set hits. That would have make WOMBLES and the other fans more happy i think.
Teethgrinder wrote:
Besides, I’m sure everyone who truly supports T? will buy the full gig anyway, right?
Honestly i truly support T? but i don´t know yet, if i will buy this thing. For me, not everything is about money.
(disappointed tatty  )

Hmmm … Finally we had the chance to vote for some unusal stuff. And what happened? The result is very close to a normal set.
I am a bit disapointed to be honest.
Democracy its just nothing for individuals i guess.

Re: OCFA what do you think? in General Therapy? Topics
NANE was the best of the last three albums!
the last two albums sounded not very inspired and creativ to me. not as bad as sh, but … i don´t know. sometimes i think they should wait a little bit longer between the albums to put out a greater album. but perhaps they like it that way or its a matter of money?

By the way, does anyone think that by putting a bass in a bear trap I could get the lovely Mr McKeegan?
Depends on what a kind of bass you put in it. If you put the status basses in it (TG time or IL time) you will catch me for sure *g*” But i don´t think you want that! ;)

Perhaps they do something totally unexpected, like a total accoustic album or something ;) or just acapella *g*

Re: What would you expect from the next record? in General Therapy? Topics
i´d love to hear michael recording the next album with his old status bass guitars :) And after the recording session he sells them to me finally! *g*
and for the sound … i think it will be a better album, then the last one.
But every T? album sounds different, so i don´t really know. it can sound like everything really. From babyteeth to NANE and further.

Re: Tightrope Walker in General Therapy? Topics
i didn´t like the album, when it came out … but i do like it now … its not their best, but its not a weak album … and i really enjoy the “boy´s asleep” i think they should have kept this in the set list and got rid of diane as the slow song after the IL tour … the lyrics of the boy´s asleep are just perfect for live gigs :)

Re: Tightrope Walker in General Therapy? Topics
did they ever play that song live again, after the semi detached tour?
Posted on Thu, 30 December 2004 at 23:29
Re: Tightrope Walker in General Therapy? Topics
I disagree … Saw them live in 98 on a festival … semi detached wasn´t realeased, they played that song without the vocals in the chorus … and i didn´t know the song and the crowd really liked it … i don´t like the chorus on the album, cause i don´t like the vocals … it sounded better without the vocals …
I really like the verse … cool bassline … not that straight rhythm …
i have that live gig on tape … so i know both versions

still moving of course … but not like that much he used to do 10 years ago … whatever … its not that important, just thought of it, cause of the topis “showers” :)

Re: New Band Dairies in General Therapy? Topics
stage lights are very hot.
but mike doesn´t jump that much anymore, like he used to too …
in 94 or 95 he jumped the whole concert and every song from left to right on the stage … seemed that he never got tired of it …
He does do alot these day … more like a usual band´s bass player :)
But sometimes i do miss the old days, where you never knew where mike really was, cause he changed position so much :)
So i think a shower perhaps was even more important in those days to him?
