Femtex voice in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Femtex voice

I heard that the female voice on the last chorus on femtex is the wife or girl friend of fyfe?
Is that right?

Didn´t remember who said that to me …

Re: BASS - the final frontier in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

i got mine from a profession second hand … lucky son of a bitch :)

it is now 7 years old and still sounds great …

it´s a sound you´ll never forget … really like on troublegum :)

with pic its really fantastic, but when you play funk style it will probably blow your mind :)

Re: BASS - the final frontier in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

for troublegum he used status bass …
the best sound in the world :)

http://www.status-graphite.com/

on the site there is a cool pic from micheal under “information” than “players”

i own myself a status bass … the same he used during the area of troublegum … the sound is fantastic …

but it´s just no instrument for beginners … the sound is really professional …

Re: Slight Gripe! / Too much new stuff in Therapy? Live

yeah, but they know that everybody wants to hear something classic from nurse and troublegum …

teethgrinder … really a shame, they don´t play that song …
altough it was the most famous song …

i´d also like to hear turn or something again …
or really like innocent X, or something like that …

animal bones would be “WOW”

Re: Graham, Neil or Fyfe? in General Therapy? Topics

Well, didn´t want to patronize you … sorry for that …
perhaps you can convince me?
i don´t know what “drags, flams and ruffs” are. But i know the words for the techniques in german. Have a problem to translate them.
He really used “5, 7, 13 and 17 stroke rolls on T?”
Well, can you give me an example?

Didn´t fyfe play across the barline? and where the hell did graham do?

Every time i saw graham live i was really pissed, about his playing. Especially the old songs. They sounded really primitive. Like on the verse of die lauging no shuffle and 16t notes like in the orginial just 8 notes and no shuffle on the hi hat during the verse.
Like teethgrinder, loose etc …

therapy sounded much more primitive to me in that time …
But i will see neil live next week and i´m looking forward to that.
at the point right know i´m not really excitet about his playing on the album. i miss the second higher snare drum or timble …
but i want to see him live … if i heard right he must be very impressing playing the drums live …

“die laughing” bass line live in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

Title: “die laughing” bass line live

anybody know why micheal plays the verse of “die laughing” on the 10 fret (a string) and 12 fret (d string) … in the past he always played it on the 5 fret (d string) and 7 fret (g string)

i know it´s a stupid question. but it really interessets me

i think it sounded much more to the point, playing it like in the past, because die laughing needs really a heavy kind of groove piano sound, which was really cool when he played “status” bass

Re: Bad Mother in Therapy? Live

“Bad mother” the best track on infernal love …

Hope they play it on the show i´ll go to

i have an early version of “me vs. you” on the bootleg CD “Shock treatment” … it´s nothing like on “infernal love” :) sounds great!

Re: Graham, Neil or Fyfe? in General Therapy? Topics

how does NEIL play things from fyfe? is there like the primitive versions of teethgrinder, die laughing, loose or things like that, in the way graham always played the old songs?

Is there a second higher snare drum?

Are you kidding? Solid rolls - at all volumes?, fills that go across the barline? Doubles on the bass drum? If you’re telling me you could sit down and play SP-YF on one listen, I simply don’t believe you (or you are Graham Hopkins).

rolls are not that difficult to play … you learn it in a day and the speed comes with time … nothing exciting … typical rock druming …

fills across the barline? every musicion should be able to play that

doubles on the bass drum … its typical punk rock style … its on of the first thing you can play

just do believe me

;) ;):D

hi hat on “rust” in General Therapy? Topics

Title: hi hat on “rust”

did they forget to turn the hi hat down at the end of rust?
you hear the click from the two cymbals “really loud”

same in “satan” in the refrain

if they wanted it that way, than why?

Re: Graham, Neil or Fyfe? in General Therapy? Topics

the point is to show that fyfe was the best for them!

not because he was the first,

BECAUSE he plays better than the others!

Re: Graham, Neil or Fyfe? in General Therapy? Topics

graham had too much of this “stoner rock style” like you hear everything he plays, no ghost notes, no fills!
fyfe was the only real drummer fot therapy i think!

graham played a primitive style.
Therapy need more than that.

its a unique band with a unique style. graham couldn´t sound like therapy. he just played to simple.
when i heard songs, where he played the drums, i could already play it myself, after hearing it only ones.

i had to hear fyfes style a couple of times to recognice everthing what was going on in the rythm fraction.

Re: status bass in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

but he could use an equalizer to put on the active sound … this warm sound isn´t the right think for a rock´n´roll band.
musicman is just like fender … its modern today
but you can have this sound with every bass … you don´t have to spend so much money on a musicman …

i don´t like the look and design … it´s totally boring …
status is unique …

Re: Graham, Neil or Fyfe? in General Therapy? Topics

Title: fyfe was the best

i think fyfe was really the best drummer. he made the original therapy with his 2 snare drums. And his style of playing much ghost notes. Just listen to “die laughing” or “loose” or something older like “innocentX” Graham couldn´t play it like fyfe. He´s wasn´t a really good drummer for therapy.
Graham, for example, played only 4 notes on the high hat during the verse of “die laughing”, like really laid back. Fyfe played 8 notes in the same time with a shuffle technic.
Just one of many examples.
Drumming is not about going as fast as you can. The technics are more important.
The “speed” comes automatically if you play the right way.

I saw therapy a couple of times with fyfe and graham. Graham, for example, played “teethgrinder” like really only every second note from the original. I was really pissed about his druming.

Neil is better than graham. But still i miss a lot of ghost notes in his druming and like no 2 snares. I loved fyfes style of playing them. Like the high snare really gets you in touch with the original therapy sound.

status bass in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

Title: status bass

michael should play “status bass” again. like he did on troublegum and “infernal love” and on their tours. musicman isn´t really the best sound.
status has like really the high and low frequenzes with a piona character. the best sound for a band like “therapy”.

i don´t understand, why he changed his sound?
