Re: New single? in General Therapy? Topics
just the single song? i’d quite happily pay the 89p for an unreleased (or to be unreleased other than on the album) track. but for one that i’ve already heard or can watch until the album comes out. no no. not exactly shrewd marketing there boys.

Re: Red Dwarf in Chit-Chat
even as the eternal pessimist that i am, judging by the bits on the website and from what i’ve heard about the filmings i’m hoping that this will be good. i really hope so. i’ve been watching the documentary bits on the 1-8 dvds recently and what was lacking in 7,8 and BTE for me was the banter. they all seemed too story story story, joke. or joke joke joke, story. i think the overlying problem is that they need to do an arching story for each series now and then move on to the next one.

Re: Life’s Too Short. in Chit-Chat
i gave up on this after the first 2 episodes. it was shockingly bad. the annoying thing is that gervais can do really good comedy when he gets it right. or he could do anyway. i’m surprised it’s got a 2nd series. the problem is that by “being” david brent all the time, which as already mentioned, he essentially is, he’s kind of shot himself in the foot. he seems like such an incredibly unlikeable person. although the christmas episodes of both the office and extras were brilliant.
honestly, hand on hearts here, had ANYBODY ever actually liked ricky gervais?

i would really like them to stop to be fair. i like everything they’ve ever put out but, they just don’t really seem to like doing it.

You probably will tell this story in the not too distant future and see the funny side.
i have since been told by a spectator that this incident was “comedy gold”. and now, i kind of agree.

Re: Vent your spleen! in Chit-Chat
well i am going to hell apparently. last night at a my chemical romance gig a friend of a friend was really enjoying everything and then they played a song she didn’t like. everything was going well up until this point. and then she said “oh i don’t like this song, i’ve seen it before and a little part of me died inside”. possibly referencing the song, i don’t know what it was. and me being the sarcastic fuck that i am said “oh, like a miscarriage”. it was around this point that the whole world ended. cue people dropped jawwed.
the moral of this story is. just don’t fucking bother.

Re: Quitting Smoking in Chit-Chat
for drinkers who are financially strapped, the best way to stop smoking is just think “hmmm that packet of cigarettes could’ve bought me a couple of pints” it’s a fine line. i struggle with both. and have given up giving up. and i’ve never felt better. sorry.

Re: Amen in Other Bands & Artists
from caseys website -
“Bloodied, broken and penniless yet again, I hope Amen has set an example that if I can do it, anyone can. And maybe,,,,,,,,just maybe, we changed a few peoples’ lives and opened peoples’ minds to other worlds of music. ”
i don”t know why but i really liked that comment.

Re: Amen in Other Bands & Artists
had a listen to death before musick today as a kind of “oh well it’s something new” (even though it’s old). and must say that i enjoyed it a lot. it sounded pretty much like everything amen have ever done to me. which is always ace. it made me feel 18 years old all over again. so thanks dave for the recommendation. but, as i have already mentioned they were always amazing live. the energy that casey put into a live performance was incredible. perhaps that’s why he’s all fucked up now. but then again, he was always pretty fucked up.
thank you sir.

Richard - I definitely recommend getting Death Before Musick. You can usually pick it up for a few quid and it’s almost as good as WHCFYP, although not as aggressive.

Re: Whats on your mind right now? in Chit-Chat
he is not a tramp at all. he pays the bills, to be fair he has been there for me for the last decade. he is one of my closest friends. but still, i am the in between man. and i don’t fucking like it. i can’t simply run away. i couldn’t leave either with the inevitable shitstorm

Re: Whats on your mind right now? in Chit-Chat
so. a serious one here. for the last year myself and two other friends have been sharing a house. but the last six months the other two chaps have not been getting on very well. silly little things like leaving dirty dishes about (one is a clean freak and one is, essentially a tramp) or what not. and me, being the humble gobetween has had to endure this. and to be fair, i’m a bit fed up with it. to the point where i’m wanting to leave. suggestions?
