Re: Radiohead in Other Bands & Artists
i would really like them to stop to be fair. i like everything they’ve ever put out but, they just don’t really seem to like doing it.

Re: Amen in Other Bands & Artists
from caseys website -
“Bloodied, broken and penniless yet again, I hope Amen has set an example that if I can do it, anyone can. And maybe,,,,,,,,just maybe, we changed a few peoples’ lives and opened peoples’ minds to other worlds of music. ”
i don”t know why but i really liked that comment.

Re: Amen in Other Bands & Artists
had a listen to death before musick today as a kind of “oh well it’s something new” (even though it’s old). and must say that i enjoyed it a lot. it sounded pretty much like everything amen have ever done to me. which is always ace. it made me feel 18 years old all over again. so thanks dave for the recommendation. but, as i have already mentioned they were always amazing live. the energy that casey put into a live performance was incredible. perhaps that’s why he’s all fucked up now. but then again, he was always pretty fucked up.
thank you sir.

Richard - I definitely recommend getting Death Before Musick. You can usually pick it up for a few quid and it’s almost as good as WHCFYP, although not as aggressive.
got it from amazon used for about a quid. haven’t listened to it yet but will let you know what i think.

Re: Amen in Other Bands & Artists

Re: Your ultimate band? in Other Bands & Artists
i’d have to have jamesy dean bradders in there doing most of it. and bob smith or bowie singing. and roger waters on bass (even though i know he’s actually not a very good bassist). it’d be the most miserable band ever. and thom yorke doing his ian curtis dance.
as it is a band with drums i assume dave grohl would have already bagsied that position.

Re: Manic Street Preachers in Other Bands & Artists

Re: The Worst Band Of All Time in Other Bands & Artists
the worst band of all time for me would definitely be the prodigy. i know a lot of people on here like them but i actually can’t stand to be in the same room as their music. i just don’t get it at all. it’s the auditory equivalent of being raped in a nightmare by clowns.

Re: Double Albums in Other Bands & Artists
the wall - pink floyd
the fragile - nin
war of the worlfd - jeff waybe
and, erm, les miserables - london cast
i’m like a member of glee me.
i am convinced still that mellon collie should not have been a double album.

Re: Soundgarden Reunite in Other Bands & Artists

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists
think tank is indeed very much under rated. parklife and the great escape just remind me of great times. i agree leisure is the worst though. i would rate them as:
modern life is rubbish
think tank
parklife
the great escape
blur
leisure
13
they were brilliant at hyde park. i have a live recording of it if you want.

Blur - Blur
The only Blur album worth listening to, in my opinion.
really? it’s one of the best i’d agree. but the only one worth listening to? hmmm. i love pretty much all of them except 13. and leisure is very patchy.

Re: Manic Street Preachers in Other Bands & Artists
nicky is in no way a cunt at all, can we stop this please. but he is in no way the logical writer for a band who have done so many good songs. in terms of lyrics i don’t know where they will go. but these recent gigs have excited me more than any i have ever seen. and that includes the PPF tour.
but no sailors suit, damn it. (apologies if i have said that before)

indeed. i have said this many times before, it is ALWAYS wires fault.

Re: Manic Street Preachers in Other Bands & Artists
i think this is the first time in their entire career where they haven’t instantly said “oh, but our last album, we kind of got lost along the way” or words to that effect. i wish they’d give the bible references a bit of a rest in interviews sometimes. james is always saying *adopts welsh accent* “well, y’know, after the holy bible…”.
i also wish he would re-instate the use of his sailors outfit. but that’s just me.

indeed, i agree that SATT was a good return, very much an attempt to be popular but then again wasn’t that the idea in the first place (i.e generation terrorists selling a billion copies and then splitting up?). i think JFPL is a good album but not a real album. i don’t consider it a manics album as such. the next album i am sure will be much poppier. but i think james has got his love back into the geeeetar so that’s all that counts. people get carried away with the lyrics sometimes because of the “legend” of richey. nicky’s lyrics are pretty rubbish most of the time but he did write a design for life and he did write, er, a design for life. so it’s all about jamesy dean bradders. and if he makes a good manics album, then it will be good. and if he makes lifeblood then it will be shite.
