Hi and Welcome!

Don’t be ashamed. Lots of rockers out here.
I like about 50% of the bands you mention. :D

Re: Mysterious newcomer! (I wish) in New Members (Introduce Yourself)

Maybe we should all have an option: Do not display Innocent X posts.
I would use it. It just gets tiring reading those dull insults over and over again…blabla…oh, whatever

Re: Mysterious newcomer! (I wish) in New Members (Introduce Yourself)

Agreed.
If I say stupid fuckface to Sister, he wouldnt mind. ;-)
If I’d say that too someone else randomly on this board, it becomes insulting. But I think some people don’t have that basic human skill of estimating sitations and human psychology.

Re: Hello all in New Members (Introduce Yourself)

Yeah, don’t worry…it’s the sort of style this board has…we actually like each other very much…but it’s still a stupid name ;-)

Yes, we are here! But we do not talk that often.
Most of us think they are human, but are not…

Re: Hello Everyone in New Members (Introduce Yourself)

Oh, and when people complain when artists become to popular:
There can be different ways:

-You were one of the first people who got ‘into’ the band.
You got their first CD’s, saw their first shows etc…
You probably don’t like it when things become too popular because
it’s a strange form of jalousy. You were starting to loose something
that was yours ‘alone’.

-Secondly, Artists become easily effected by fame and fortune and the rock-star bullshit. This means they still like making music but also
like to make money and want to reach as many as people as posible and play big stadiums. So they normaly hire some producer that knows what a ‘poppier’ sound sounds like. Right?

Re: Hello Everyone in New Members (Introduce Yourself)

Pop = populair; So the music is popular to ‘many’ people. This means they can be seen on TV, in magazines etc… on a ‘regular’ bases.
Good = something YOU like.

So something populair does NOT mean it is supposed to be good (to you).
Secondly you can not rate music in a way that it becomes measurable.
It is hard to for yourself, but even worse when you want to compare your views with others.
