You can find pictures of the Bochum show here (including a little audience video from Nowhere) and there (including a small review by me)

Re: Jägermeister Rock Liga in Therapy? Live

Yep, it was a contest, with the audience voting by their noise which band was best.

Re: Jägermeister Rock Liga in Therapy? Live

According to http://www.rockliga.de/default.aspx all three bands were equal on points after the five shows, so it had to be drawn who reaches the final in Berlin on May 17th.
And the winner is…T?

Re: Jägermeister Rock Liga in Therapy? Live

They’ve been doing this rock league stuff in Germany before so it’s nothing new over here. Jack Daniels have also been sponsoring tours and I don’t know manyother drinks (except beer, of course) so connected with rock’n’roll.
A Perrier metal festival wouldn’t be so straight forward, would it?

Re: Jägermeister Rock Liga in Therapy? Live

Now really back on topic. ;-)

Tonight we saw the real Therapy? again, tight rocking and getting the crowd going. The evil priest was in good shape so they blew away the other bands and won the audience by storm. Teethgrinder was played this time, Diane and Sprung were left out of the set and replaced by Screamager and - tadaaa- Sister. Yeah THEY FUCKIN’ PLAYED SISTER. I can’t even remember when I heard it the last time.

Greetings to angela, Robby and Roxy, hope you had a safe drive home. See you on the next tour.

Back off topic:
Jägermeister Red Bull is a real killer, the Red Bull taste “hiding” the alcohol lets you lose control faster than anything else.

Re: Jägermeister Rock Liga in Therapy? Live

It definitely was. You could see that his complete attention was focused on remaining on stage in an upright position as he had no timing whatsoever and didn’t hit the right chords.
But I guess the evil priest will be in full action tonight again.

Re: Jägermeister Rock Liga in Therapy? Live

Respect for apologizing here, Michael. One bad show in nearly seventeen years (as far as I am concerned) is something Oasis can only dream of. ;-)

So bring on tomorrow to kick our asses as usual.

Re: Jägermeister Rock Liga in Therapy? Live

Yep, Michael’s appearance was a shame, indeed, Andy didn’t seem to be too sober either but at least he was able to get through the set.
The setlist itself was very different from the usual greatest hits stugg the guys usually play on such occasions.
It had Punishment Kiss as opener, Rust and Isolation being placed in the middle. Also played were Sprung, Rock You Monkeys, Innocent X, Potato Junkie, Diane and Screamager to finish it.
Teethgrinder was on the list (Roxy got it and post the exact set) but was ommitted, instead Neil and Andy jammed around a bit including a fierce short version of New Day Rising by Hüsker Dü.

So let’s see how the lads present themselves in Bochum tomorrow.

Oh, the other bands:
Portugal The Man were first, starting at 8pm sharp (an unusual early time for shows at the Stollwerck) and were really good. Their music sounds like a blend of Mars Volta and Modest Mouse and live they’re more rocking than on record.
Dúné were next, seven very young people from Denmark who seemed to have to have enjoyed their set and were really frantic on stage. They’re sort of dance-orientated indiepop mixing bands like Wombats, Editors or Eskobar.
I must admit they were the best band of the evening (though Robby and roxy will both say both other bands were shite ;-) )

Can finish work early on Monday so I’ll be in Cologne as well.

And see you in Bochum, angela.

Maybe someone from Holland or Belgium can give you a lift, e.g. Robby.

Re: Jägermeister Rock Liga in Therapy? Live

You can get tickets online on http://www.kartenhaus.de or http://www.eventim.de (just search for Jägermeister), but I guess you won’t need any tickets in advance as both venues have a capacity of about 1,000 people and with Biffy Clyro pulling out the gigs definitely won’t sell out.

Re: Jägermeister Rock Liga in Therapy? Live

Here are the missing links:
Stollwerck
Talschock

@Sam:
The Stollwerck is located in central Cologne right at the banks of the Rhine, directions to the place can be found here.
I hope I can make it to Cologne as right now I have to work till 8 pm that day but I’ll try to swap shifts with someone.

@angela:
I’ll definitely be in Bochum, Cologne is not sure yet.

11.02. Köln - Stollwerck
12.02. Aschaffenburg – Colos-Saal
13.02. Bochum – Zeche
14.02. Chemnitz – Talschock
15.02. Cottbus – Glad-House

Also playing are Portugal The Man and Dúne. Each band will be playing for 45 minutes, tickets cost about 12€.
I wanted to go to Bochum anyway because of Biffy, but now it’s a must. Maybe I can make it to Cologne as well.

Me, too. My mate has a professional camera equipment which he sometimes gets in to shows. I uploaded some of his T? shots at my facebook account so anyone whÜs registered there can have a look. The pics are from Arnsberg 1994 and Florence 2003.

Ah, then I remember you.

I wanted to wear my usual Allroy For Prez… shirt to be easily recognizable, but it’s in the laundry.

You didn’t record the show as you originally planned to?

Re: T? support New Model Army in Cologne (22.12.2007) in Therapy? Live

Yep, that was me.

Before and after T?’s set we stood at the first merch stand to the left and during the show we were right in front of Michael.

Re: T? support New Model Army in Cologne (22.12.2007) in Therapy? Live

Just got back from Cologne.

The lads were great, played for about 65 minutes.
The setlist included the usual mix of newer (e.g. Rust, If It Kills Me, Polar Bear, White Noise) and greatest hits (e.g. Teethgrinder, Nowhere, Screamager, Diane, Isolation, Knives, Stories).

They really got the crowd going for being just a sipport act. New Model Army were ok, I don’t like their newer songs (i.e. nearly everything they’ve done over the past 10 years, but their classic songs like 51st state or Vagabonds were ok.

Got me an olive green shirt with “Private Nobody” on front anf Therapy? on the back for 20€.

Then get back to the Weihnachtsmarkt and have some mulled wine and Aachener printen. :-)

I’m off to Cologne.

Does this mean, Sam will be in Cologne tonight?
Come on, no cheap excuses are accepted for not being there.

Re: T? support New Model Army in Cologne (22.12.2007) in Therapy? Live

Just a reminder. As Michael wrote, T? are on at 8pm.

Be there early, the parking situation is not that good around the Palladium, entry is also usually quite slow.

I guess a good womble meeting point would be the merch stand. I hope, Sam’s there :-)~ (and I’m not talking about mr. self destruct)

See you all tomorrow, really looking forward to it.

Re: T? support New Model Army in Cologne (22.12.2007) in Therapy? Live

Haven’t heard NMA for years now after being really into them since Thunder And Consolation.
But with T? as support I’ll think I have to see them again (i.e. if I don’t have to work that day) though the Palladium sucks.

Re: Pics from romanian show (Bucharest, 17.04) in Therapy? Live

Thanks for the pics.

The show was amazing, one of the best T? gigs I’ve ever been to. The crowd was so passionate which definitely made the band enjoy the gig.
The setlist was the usual stuff with the hardest version of Diane I’ve ever heard so far.

And Bucharest is such a beautiful city, we really enjoyed the trip (including the Romanian cup semi final last Wednesday ;) ).

Re: First dates of 2007 in Therapy? Live

Title: Bukarest

You’ve got to go to strange places to avoid meeting Robby at a T? show. ;)

So I’ll probably be the only womble there?
