Re: vote to see therapy? live in General Therapy? Topics
Yep, my vote’s been placed though chances don’t seem to be too good with only 11% for T? right now.
I can’t see why anyone should vote for Blur. They`ve already broadcasted the Cologne show on VIVA last weekend.

Quote (author unknown):
my sister went to a festival with RATM, L7, David Bowie and 2 or 3 other good bands in the early nintees and didn’t take me with her. i really wish i would have been there.
Oh donVutz, one of these other good bands have been The Prodigy and they really kicked ass that evening.
But you’re right you should’ve been there, it was a brilliant evening at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund.

Re: Any band? in Chit-Chat
Hüsker Dü - biggest influence to my musical taste.
Some remarks to the other bands mentioned:
Anyone wishing to see G’n’R again - be glad you missed them, they were crap live (I’ve seen them once in Cologne and it would have been wasted time if Faith No More and Soundgarden weren’t the support acts).
The Smashing Pumpkins - on stage never as good as on record.
Fischmob - great party uniting hiphop lids and indie kids alike.
Nirvana - one of the sweatiest shows I#ve ever been to.
Ramones - so sad Joey had to go. But check out bands like the Groovie Ghoulies or the Hanson Brothers, the Ramones spirit lives on.
The Bates - how low can you go? :D
Pavement - go and see Stephen Malkmus, nothing much has changed.

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
Poor Fat Mike, how will he survive the Hurricane festival?
Before NoFX Apocalyptica are on stage, so it’s metalheads again. And right after NoFX The Roots are going to play, so he’ll have loads od HipHop kids, too.;)
I don’t know how much I’m going to see from Fat Mike as Interpol are playing the tent at the same time.
Anyway, as this is a Metallica thread: I’ve seen the Rock Am Ring set live on MTV and I have to admit it was pretty awesome. I’m not a huge fan of their music but I think I’ll have to get the St. Anger album as it definitely rocks.

Re: Stupid! in Chit-Chat
Wow, on Friday you looked like Boris Becker, now it’s Gareth Gates…
Who do you resemble tomorrow? Sinead O’Connor? :p
Just kidding, this comes frome a Bob Hoskins look-alike.

Re: guess I should say hello! in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Hi jono,
welcome on board, we’re a mötley crue, indeed.
But if everyone’s taste would be perfect, then the whole world would only listen to T? (and maybe some of my favourite bands, too ;)) and do we really want to live in heaven and not in hell?

Re: Merchandising in Therapy? Live
Well, just for you : 100 kg are about 15.75 stone and 184 cm are 6 ft 0.5 in
But be sure you cannot resist the metric system for ever.
Death to the mile, long live the kilometer. :p

Re: Finally… I’m listening to HA!!! in General Therapy? Topics
Well, even if the songs all were Troublegum B-sides…
Evil Elvis is still one of my all time T? faves.
But you’re right. It was the same feeling I had with Pleasure Death compared to Babyteeth. :D

Re: Merchandising in Therapy? Live
gosh, my head seems to be as big as a pea (I thought thatt would only be true for my brain ;))
True, it’s quite tight at the neck but with a height of 1,84m it does cover my bellybutton which is fine for anyone seeing me wearing it.

Re: British Sea Power in Other Bands & Artists
They’re quite nice. I’ve seen them on tour with Interpol who do have a much bigger resemblance to Joy Division.
But BSP live are a strange appearance with the singer wearing an antler and someone making his way right through the audience with a kettle drum.

Re: Number of Members in Chit-Chat
The 1000th member should get a surprise package - e.g. Andys worn kegs from this tour.:D

Re: I’ve seen the Queens of the Stone Age live in Vienna yesterday in Other Bands & Artists
I hope Nick Oliveri didn’t disappoint all the ladies in the audience and performed naked.
You should have seen QOTSA on their last tour with Dave Grohl on drums, he was absolutely outstanding.

Re: Whats going on? in General Therapy? Topics
You’re absolutely right.
I went to see Placebo yesterday. They played in a hall packed to its capacity of 4500 and the venue was already too big. In March they played in Cologne at a venue only half that size and it was way more intimate and intense, too.

Re: Festival festivities in Other Bands & Artists
Wearing satanic t-shirts in a church and the complaining that God punishes you with bad weather at Rock am Ring.:)
Besides, look forward to see Placebo. They were great in Bielefeld yesterday and even if you don’t like their music that much, enjoy their version of ‘Where Is My Mind’ by the Pixies.

Come on, I got me the green shirt in XL and it fits me even though I weigh a 100 kg (and it’s not only muscles, unfortunately)

Here I am motherfuckers in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Title: Here I am motherfuckers
…ups I forgot to mention the fatherfuckers.
After joining the WoM community two weeks ago I think it’s time to introduce myself.
I got into T? 12 years ago and never stopped loving them.
But it’s the same with a bunch of other bands as well:
ALL (my ALLtime faves)
Hüsker Dü (especially Grant Hart)
The Pixies (of course, Frank Black, The Breeders as well)
Boxhamsters
EA 80 (possibly the best German punk bands around)
Aereogramme
Samiam
Soundgarden
Nirvana
The Go-Betweens
etc. etc. etc.
I got to love this message board as it’s so full of grea characters devoted to one band.
So maybe see ya at a T? show.

immergut review in Therapy? Live
Title: immergut review
I just found a review of this year’s Immergut Festival which was headlined by T?.
I just post the part concerning T?’s show, the rest can be found at http://www.headnoise.de.vu:
I hope they will cover the Stone Roses more often, hopefully at the Hurricane or Westend festival.

Re: ash in Other Bands & Artists
All you Ash lovers will be delighted to hear that they’re going to join T? at the VISIONS Westend festival in Dortmund on Sunday, 27 July. It’s a bit like a dèja vu as they both played at the VISIONS Anniversayr Show in Dortmund in June 2001.
By the way, a band that covers ‘Only In Dreams’ by Weezer and really blows you away only hours after a lacklustre Weezer gig at the Hurricane in 2001 can’t bee too bad.

Re: what are the most embarrasing bands/artists you have a liking for? in Other Bands & Artists
Bush are such a miserable copy of Nirvana…
Anyway, I still do love Electric Light Orchestra, especially Out Of The Blue and Discovery.
And I also enjoy listening to The Beautiful South, although that’s not too embarrassing I suppose.

Re: Another covers question in General Therapy? Topics
I’d love to hear
Don’t Want To Know If You Are Lonely - Hüsker Dü
Slack Motherfucker - Superchunk
Ever - The Lemonheads
Caliente - Supersuckers
Waiting Room - Fugazi
Leather Chair - Gluecifer
etc.
There would stiil be loads of great songs to mention.

Re: Cologne Gig! in Therapy? Live
Yeah, Cologne was absolutely fanfuckingtastic.
Andy seemed to enjoy the show and did his old rock star routines and animated the audience to clap their hands and sing along.
And the crowd did sing along to all the songs. I wonder whether there was such an enthusiastic mob at the other shows of the tour.
Anyway it was great to see the guys back on the road and I’m looking forward to see them at the Hurricane Festival and the VISIONS Westend festival.
