You quite clearly suck for not liking the Maiden. I mean c’mon - they rock! :)

Re: Therapy? to play Belfast yet again?? (benefit gig) in Therapy? Live

I will be there, beer in hand to watch the lads. 12 noon to 12 midnight - that’s a lot of drinking and live music! ;)

Therapy? to play Belfast yet again?? (benefit gig) in Therapy? Live

Title: Therapy? to play Belfast yet again??

From nme.co.uk:

Tsunami fundraiser in Belfast

STARSAILOR frontman James Walsh has been added to the bill of a fundraising show in Belfast for the victims of the Asian tsunami.

Walsh will play an acoustic set at the Limelight club on January 23. He joins a line-up that includes local rock veterans Therapy plus some 40 other local bands including the likes of Driving By Night, Fighting With Wire and Slim Memphis.

The all-day gig will run from 12noon until midnight and will be spread across the venue’s three rooms – The Limelight, Katy Dalys and Spring And Airbrake. Tickets will cost £10.

Jeesus guys, you’re spoiling us!! :D

Re: Vocals on NANE in General Therapy? Topics

“When my band recorded our demo, we went to this place that uses an analogue valve desk into Pro Tools.”

When my band recorded our EP, we did it on reel-to-reel, then mixed it with a pro-tools style computer program. It sounds fucking fantastic! Analogue is the way to go.

The secret track off Suicide Pact. I’d pick it, if only because of its headfucking brilliance!! :D

Re: Neighbours in Chit-Chat

You think that’s bad - I got my housemate to text my mobile phone when I was in work this evening to tell me what happened today in Neighbours.

Oh the shame…

Re: the new video in General Therapy? Topics

The band should *definately* get Spitfire to look into getting the video plugged on Kerrang, MTV2 and the like this time around. I know the band have no real interest in becoming massively popular these days, but it would be good to let casual rock fans know that they’re still around. I’m sick and tired of talking to people people who think Therapy? split up after Infernal Love.

And anyway - if you’re going to spend good money on a video, why not try to make sure a healthy amount of people get a chance to see it? ;)

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists

It took me a while to even come to terms with what I thought of St. Anger, and roughly a year and a half later I’ve decided that it’s an okay album - not up to Metallica’s usual standards, but not the complete disaster the media and fanbase made it out to be either.

Pros: Best Metallica riffs in ages, lively drum contributions from Lars, a definate shift away from the A.O.R. blandness of the Load-era.

Cons: Terrible production, awful drum sound, songs structured badly, no solos.

Overall, I think it had the potential to be a great album, but the band screwed it up in the studio. Incidentally the DVD’s much better than the CD. Maybe next time they’ll improve on the weak spots of St. Anger and come up with a classic.

That’s my opinions on the topic anyway :D

Re: Songs that would have made great singles… in General Therapy? Topics

It surely couldn’t be *that* difficult to throw together a half-decent video and spend enough money to get it on rotation on MTV2 or Kerrang. I mean, it would do a hell of a lot to raise their profile and make Joe Public realise they’re still out there making albums and constantly gigging.

Re: The lost videos in General Therapy? Topics

Teethgrinder has to be my favourite video that I’ve seen by Therapy? - its just so fucked up :D

The girl with the wired-open mouth, and the old woman with the sacrificial piece of meat, and the wierd dancers… it’s genius!!

Re: Songs that would have made great singles… in General Therapy? Topics

‘Nobody Here but Us’ anyone? Could have been the track to get the band some mainstream attention after High Anxiety was released - I know Therapy? don’t seem overly concerned about being a big band anymore, but surely alerting rock fans to the fact that they still exist is a good thing!

Ah well, their new album sounds kickass - maybe it’ll get the promotional kick that High Anxiety deserved. ;)

Re: Favourite Album song opener and closer in General Therapy? Topics

Gimme Back My Brain is my fave opener. Just the way it comes in quietly and then with a Cairnsian “YEAAAHH!!” it kicks in like a bastard. :D

Pity about the rest of Shameless though…

Re: The last episode of Friends in Chit-Chat

Hahahahaha. Ever see the episode of Frasier where Martin gets stoned? He thinks Eddie’s talking to him with Frasier’s voice. :D

I love that programme…

Re: T? Womble cover band :) in General Therapy? Topics

You should cover all the obscure T? songs that they never play but the fans want to hear. That would rock!

Re: pretty hate machine - NIN in Other Bands & Artists

Anyone know where I could get hold of the “acoustic” album separately from the live album? I bought it when it came out, but it didn’t have the bonus CD :(

Re: pretty hate machine - NIN in Other Bands & Artists

Pretty Hate Machine probably has Trent’s best lyrics in my opinion. Even if it sounds a bit 80’s and cheesey in places. But yeah, it’s still a great album! :D

Argh!! This depresses me :( I bought a ticket and eveything, and then found out I was working that night, and there was nothing I could do to get out of it short of walking out of my job.

The Clash are my favourite punk band of all time, old school or not. But in their absence I’ve chosen the Dead Kennedys.

Re: High Anxiety in General Therapy? Topics

I dunno, it’s a good album, but certainly not one of my favourites. I much prefer the earlier Fyfe-rhythm dominated tracks, and the later double guitar noisiness of later releases. :)
