Re: BBC Sessions - music through a cheap transistor in General Therapy? Topics
I’m getting excited about T? once again (I’ve been off the boards for ages…)
Cool!

I kind of like ‘loan poster’ but it was meant to read ‘lone poster’. Oh well, whatever, nevermind.

Title: The Loan Poster
Just flicking through the member list and was curious about the number of people who have posted once, twice, or not at all.
Any of you out there reading but not posting? Post! We won’t bite!
Even better, write a controversial post. We’ll argue and fight and have a great time then try to remember your name in the morning.

Aren’t I just. That spell just keeps working, and working, and working.
Kind of a nice spell to be under, though.

Re: What do you drink? in Chit-Chat
Curiously, when ever I’m in a pub I ask for Stella or Kronenbourg. At the off-licence it’s the same. I don’t even like lager that much. I prefer real ale or wine.
I think I’m a victim of advertising… help… I’m being controlled by (what did George Bush say?) sublibinimal (sic) messages…?

Re: Motorhead in Other Bands & Artists
Raised this ‘cos I have a constant whine in my left ear, sort of like having a tv on without the sound, but ten times as loud. Always. Every conversation, every meeting, every thought, every time I do anything, every sleeping moment. Constant, and constantly.
Take care of your ears, people.

A serious answer to a daft question?
Squall, I think 90% of humanity would agree with you.
All we can do is to try to make this mad world better. Just a smile to someone is, honestly, a start.

Huh! Didn’t think of that.
For what it’s worth, yes, I probably am. And I love being an alien.
Any questions?

Re: Motorhead in Other Bands & Artists
At the risk of being controversial - as usual - I have to say Motorhead was the worst gig I’ve ever been to. This was around 10 years ago. It was so loud you couldn’t hear it. Could’ve been Lemmy, could’ve been anyone. My ears took two days to recover.
I know I sound old. Probably what your granny would say. But I would never say this about any other band I’ve ever seen; I love live music. And I love Motorhead. But never again…
PS: Lemmy’s ears must be shot!

So people keep saying…
When I was young if you couldn’t get in the pub you sat in the graveyard and drank cider. Week in week out. I made myself so ill on cider in my teenage years that even now the smell of apple juice makes me sick!
…which is why I too, hate cider; although substitute “graveyard” for “woods” - hey, we had class.
Clearly a mis-spent youth…

Re: Past, Future…? in General Therapy? Topics
“Beautiful creative human being” well, hey, I have been called many things, but not that before…
Glad to have got you all thinking. I like provoking a reaction (as I’m sure you have all realised); I think it makes it more interesting for all of us.
In my humble opinion, without T?’s past there is no future, but without any future there is no T?
Of course we all believe in T?’s future… well, at least the majority of us. Who voted past, and why? Own up! There’s no shame in loving their past, but is that how you see the band - another record in your collection of bands that have been? I don’t; I love feeling involved with something that both has, and continues, to happen.
Long live T?
…and OCFA is great - like “Walk Through Darkness” - what a perfect song. You don’t have to have complex lyrics to make a great song, or a great album. Less can be more:)

Why is it better? What difference does it make where you read a poem?
I hope your comment was intended to be tongue in cheek, and that people realise it’s supposed to be funny, because otherwise it makes you sound like a pompous git.
Thanks, and I agree… poetry isn’t about being published, or about money; it’s about expressing who you are. It’s helped me: it helps me understand who I am. I share it because perhaps others might be in the same situation. You see a veneer everyday; you perceive others as entirely happy and, of course, it isn’t necessarily so. Others share the same hurt, but also the same hopes and dreams.
Too deep for the T? messageboard? I don’t think so. I think we’re a sensitive bunch.

Title: Catharsis (merged)
I just wrote this to help express my feelings, really, but hope it strikes a chord in some way…
MUM
We were together
Born together
Were together
But have no tether
Life became a trial
When I met my wife;
You became hostile,
My mother, once my life
We were together
Born together
Were together
But have no tether
Not the same as then
Not as in the past
We have lost our little gem
It happened; why, so fast?
We were together
Born together
Were together
But have no tether
Laugh, we did -
We did back then
Then death occurred
Why, how and when…?
We were together
Born together
Were together
But have no tether
And at the end
Was it a sign?
Did evil want
Its local shrine?
We were together
Born together
Were together
But have no tether
And at the end
It was a sign
We all became
A sick soured wine
We were together
Born together
Were together
But have no tether
Is there hope?
I ask at last
There is hope
But has it passed?
We are together
We have a tether
Despite dark weather
Is it forever?

Can’t believe the negativity surrounding this album. I honestly think it’s superb.
With the risk of being controversial, if you don’t like the record and therefore the band, MOVE ON, you’re not a fan anymore.

Despair in Chit-Chat
Title: Despair
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a poem, which I thought I’d share with you:
DESPAIR
I wish I had a dime
Every single time
I despair of us.
Weak, angry, aggressive
I see politicians being so obsessive
Dying to kill, though not themselves
But yet they slowly, slowly kill the Self
I wish I had a dime
Every single time
I despair of us.
Pretending to be the Saviour
When only money is the flavour
Killing innocents for their gain
We all knew oil was their aim
I wish I had a dime
Every single time
I despair of us.
Destroy the weak and innocent
Judge their lives at one cent
Blame them for our fears
Kill them with their tears
I wish I had a dime
Every single time
I despair of us.
You and me to blame
With our votes we caused this shame
Kill the people for their oil
Make their civil causes boil
I wish I had a dime
Every single time
I despair of us.
By doing nothing, with our disdain
We feed the powers, thats their aim
Increasing capitalism is the goal
Evil grows from pole to pole
I wish I had a dime
Every single time
I despair of us.
About time we lived as one
Living surely under the same sun?
Differences are not ours
The politicians have the powers.
I wish I had a dime
Every single time
I despair of us.
Rise above it, is what I say
Dont play the games they want to play
Borders of the mind
Are no borders to mankind.
I hope I have a dime
Every single time
I dont despair of us
——————————————————-
Be free people, think free, live free, but be angry…
Zorn.
