I did see a recent interview in which Mike said ‘it would be good to get back up to Aberdeen again…’ and mentioned playing north of Glasgow/Edinburgh in general. I think the last Aberdeen gig was on the NANE tour and they played a blinder (the previous one was for SPYF and was somewhat spoiled by wankers in the crowd). They did Inverness once too on the OCFA tour which had some good silly moments between Mike and Andy!

I bloody love The Buzzing! That bit in the middle where it all falls into chaos, and then you get the scratchy faint whiff of some other song… ‘don’t wanna be lost in the system’, then just as you’re getting used to it it goes all weird-sounding, is so well done (brilliant production) - I wonder if they can pull it off live?

I think the setlist was very well judged given the crowd they were playing to - I’ve seen the band loads of times and still heard 5 songs in Glasgow I’d never seen them perform before, 4 new ones and Lunacy Booth which doesn’t get a live showing too often. Hopefully on the headline tour they will mix it up a bit as it’ll be a Therapy? audience, it would be nice to see them lean more heavily on ABCOL and CT than Troublegum, and keep bringing in a few surprises for the faithful - like they did with Fantasy Bag and Summer of Hate on the Crooked Timber tour.

When they played two nights at King Tut’s a couple of years ago they opened one of the shows with Meat Abstract, Punishment Kiss, Innocent X, Fantasy Bag, Nausea, Teethgrinder, Neck Freak and Opal Mantra before they got to any Troublegum, which was pretty mindboggling for a fan of the early stuff like me!
