Re: In response to dimebags death in Chit-Chat

I dont think listening to music, watching a film, playing a particular game or looking at a cornflakes advert causes regular, well adjusted people to go out and commit crimes.

Certainly not. I listen to heavy metal, “Die Hard” and “The Terminator” are two of my all time favourite films, I have played Grand Theft Auto 1&3, Quake, Doom, Carmageddon and other “violent” computer games over the years and really enjoyed them, but I have no trouble seperating reality from fantasy, and have no desire to ever harm another person in any way.

Re: In response to dimebags death in Chit-Chat

No.

I listen to aggressive thrash metal a lot, and I enjoy fairly rough mosh pits (although if anyone falls over i’m the first to grab their arm and help them up).

However, I have not been in a physical fight since primary school (I’m 25), and I have not ever been driven to hitting someone (and believe me, I’ve had provocation). I’m just not a violent person.

Re: Pantera ex-members killed in Other Bands & Artists

:-( Sucks. I’m not really into Damageplan, but I really like Pantera.

I’ll be listening to “Vulgar Display of Power” tonight. RIP Dimebag.

Re: Making an arse myself at the Bristol DJ set in Therapy? Live

Haha… well, I’m pretty certain its not true ;-)

I was so drunk, though. When the taxi arrived at my house, I stumbled out of it and into a hedge. It took me three attempts to get out of the hedge without falling straight back in… I felt very crap the next day ;-)

Making an arse myself at the Bristol DJ set in Therapy? Live

Title: Making an arse myself at the Bristol DJ set

I went to the T? DJ set at Club UK in bristol.. and it was really good! Good music, cheap Stella Artois (for a club), and my fave band.

Early on in the night I approached Andy at the DJ booth and got him to sign a poster for me.. He smiled and enthusiastically signed it and got Neil and Michael to do the same. I told him that apart from the chorus to “Perish the thought”, NANE absolutely kicked ass, and he smiled and said thanks.

A bit later I bumped into Michael as I was leaving the bogs. Now, by this time I’d had a LOT of beer, and my brain was severely disconnected from my voice. What I wanted to do was talk to him about how it was nice to hear a lot of his playing on NANE, and how I love seeing Therapy? live. However, it seems that when I get really drunk, the voice when disconnected from my brain goes into “pathetic sycophant mode” and I blurted out something crap about how if I played bass, he’d be my idol. I mean really. Not only is that not true, its just a really idiotic thing to say. Then some guy came over who didn’t recognise Michael and started talking to me about System of a Down (I was wearing a SOTD t-shirt, you see), and Michael took this opportunity to escape the drunken nonsense I was spouting. *sigh* I hope if I get to meet him again I can talk like a normal human being…

Later I spoke to Neil who was also really nice, and when I said I preferred his drumming to Grahams he seemed pleased, but said that he found it tougher to learn the songs Graham had drummed on than the ones Fife had, on the whole, and then I talked about seeing T? play live.

So.. all in all, it turns out that not only have Therapy? produced my all time favourite album, and a bunch of other really great albums, they’re all nice guys who seem very happy to engage with their fans and its really great.

Thanks Andy, Michael and Neil for a great night and enduring my drunken ramblings so nicely!

Re: Anyone going to the Bristol DJ party? in Therapy? Live

Considering its about 5 seconds walk from the pub I usually go to anyway, its my favourite band… hell yeah :-)

Best takeaway! in Chit-Chat

Title: Best takeaway!

This one is really hard for me.. I love Pizza, I love curry, and I love fish and chips…

But then… I love fried chicken too. I love the fillet tower burger from KFC, or the fillet strips from Miss Millies… mmmm…

Are we talking a proper scotch egg with a whole egg in it, or just a picnic egg, with the chopped egg inside?

I’d say a proper Scotch Egg. Maybe sliced in half for a buffet, but you can always grab 2 at a time ;-)

Picnic eggs are also great, though.

My favourite beer (Stella) happened to be in the ‘other’ poll, but the choice was pretty small…

Re: High Anxiety or Troublegum???? in General Therapy? Topics

Troublegum is my all time favourite album by any band, ever. Every single track is just brilliant.

Don’t get me wrong, I love HA, but its not a patch on Troublegum.

The T? CDs in my car CD changer right now are NANE, Infernal Love and Troublegum.

Re: WOW !!! T? on Scuzz! in General Therapy? Topics

I was down the pub on friday, and on the TVs was Scuzz. The DJ set had finished so the sound was back to the TVs, and up came “Die Laughing”… I turned the TV up :-)

Re: Machine Head? in General Therapy? Topics

Hmm… Well, it doesn’t sound anything like Machine Head to me.

Its a good album, though, but I think Troublegum, Infernal Love and High Anxiety are all better. Maybe with more listens it’ll grow on me further…

Re: ARRGH! Bloody Amazon! in General Therapy? Topics

As they hadn’t despatched it yet, I cancelled the order, and went to HMV in my lunch break… I was quite pleased, on the “new releases” rack at the end of an isle, they had NANE displayed very prominently!

I saw it and went “AHA! Great!” and grabbed a copy. The guy who was just browsing immediately picked it up and started looking at the song titles. I hope he bought it… ;-)

Anyway… lets listen to this thing!

Title: ARRGH! Bloody Amazon!

They haven’t even dispatched NANE yet! What is the point of pre-ordering if I could have gone to the sodding shops 3 DAYS AGO and just bought the bloody thing.

ARRRGHH!!!

Re: Play.com rules! Got NANE today! in General Therapy? Topics

Oh pissbags! I preordered from Amazon, and its not even shipped yet! Its due on the 30th, apparently. *sigh*

I can’t order from play, because their ordering system decided that my bank refused a transaction that my bank said they never even tried to put through… and now i’m blacklisted on their site through no fault of my own. Bastards.

Re: 2 versions?? in General Therapy? Topics

It doesn’t have anything to do with there being two versions, but I really hope its not copy protected. CD copy protection is evil…

Re: Album title in General Therapy? Topics

Come on.. Therapy? are a rock band… thats what its all about!

(Unlike the hokey cokey, which is all about putting your left leg in, and out, and in again, and shaking it all about.)

My friend has the “Fuck All Boybands” shirt. The only problem is, when he wears it someone asks him if he’s managed to actually do it yet.

Speedball wrote:

Another very bizarre place is any rock club, and what would be even wierder is if the song isnt screamager.

Last friday, Bierkeller, Bristol. They played Knives. There was a bunch of people on the dancefloor, but there was a group of about 6 people in the middle of the crowd going absolutely crazy. I saw three T? shirts there that evening (including my own ;-).

The DJ, Haggis, is a big T? fan and so is quite happy to play their songs… but seemingly only from Troublegum, even though i’m sure he has High Anxiety. Never mind, he does play Knives and Trigger Inside instead of JUST screamager and going nowhere ;-)

Its also the only rock club where i’ve heard “21st Century Digital Boy” by Bad Religion, which is one of my all time fave songs.

Re: Pitchshifter in Other Bands & Artists

Thats the one. I forgot it was called “remix war”, which is probably why I couldn’t find it ;)

Re: Pitchshifter in Other Bands & Artists

Well, i definately saw it. I even picked it up and considered buying it, until I noticed the price.

The cover was mostly just black with yellow writing, but it was months ago that I saw it. I can’t seem to find it online now, though.
