Re: Pitchshifter in Other Bands & Artists
Interestingly, Therapy? covered one of Pitchshifters tunes on one of those “tribute to…” CDs, where a bunch of bands covered some old pitchshifter tunes. I saw it in HMV, but couldn’t justify spending £18 or whatever on it.

Re: Pitchshifter in Other Bands & Artists
Yeah… I love the last couple of pitchshifter albums. I’m not too keen on their old stuff, but its ok.
I only saw them live once, and I hadn’t heard of them at the time, so didn’t pay much attention, so i’m pretty excited about it, really :)

Actually take the phrase “all the first letters of every album” and rearrange the letters? ;)

Hmmm…
High Anxiety (2003)
Shameless (2001)
So Much For The Ten Year Plan (2000)
Suicide Pact-You First (1999)
Semi-Detached (1998)
Infernal Love (1995)
Troublegum (1994)
Nurse (1992)
Pleasure Death (1992)
Babyteeth (1991)
So, thats BPNTISSSSH. Thats a lot of S’s and not many vowels. I don’t think you could make anything useful out of that ;)
If only the second and third albums had started with “D” and “M” respectively, it would have made:
BDM, TISSSSH!
The classic drum sound made after a corny joke ;)

Re: how long have you known about T? in General Therapy? Topics
About 6 or 7 years ago. My friend leant me tapes with Infernal Love and Troublegum on them.
I later bought those two albums, and Babyteeth. I didn’t really like Babyteeth and gave that to another friend. Then I saw them play at the Fiddlers in bristol, just as Suicide Pact was released. I bought that shortly after. Most recently I bought High Anxiety.
I just realised I never bought Nurse; I only have it on tape! I’m going to rectify that right now :)
Troublegum is definately my favourite, followed by High Anxiety.
I’m not really a big fan of Semi Detached, Babyteeth, or Shameless.

I didn`t even know that it`s possible to upgrade an Amiga Computer to that level. Impressive.
Oh yes, indeed. Some links:
CyberstormPPC
Blizzard PPC
Amiga 1500
Mediator 4000 PCI busboard
AmigaOS history on wikipedia
AmigaWorld.net community portal
Quote (author unknown):
Well, its explained in the link above, but basically its just an A2000.
Quote (author unknown):
It`s a shame that some of these computers never saw much, if any support by major game companies, using the superior technology.
Well, the PPC cards got some ports of old PC games, like Quake 2, Heretic II, SiN, Descent Freespace, Wipeout 2097 and a load more. There are some Amiga only games that support them, like Payback. But people using Amigas these days arent using them as games machines, its mostly people like me who prefer the OS to Windows or MacOS.
Luckily enough, the company behind version 4 of the Amigas OS is also the one that got licenses to port most of the above games, and they have some deals with some of the PC games companies for their back catalogue.

Back to emulation in general:
Did anyone know that there are even emulators for mobile phones?
If you download the Nokia SDK it comes with an emulator. Its a little tricky to use but once you get the hang of it its OK.

Well, i’m listening to my friends copy of it now, and there are a couple of really good tracks (I love “Superhuman”), but there is a lot of shit there also… not one i’m going to buy.

Uhh… they’ve played a mixture of old an d new whenever I’ve seen them. Maybe they just don’t like you, and always only play new stuff when you’re there? ;-)

Re: Where to buy the new album in General Therapy? Topics
I CAN’T buy from play.com.
I ordered Super Mario Sunshine from them ages ago, and I got an error from them saying that the transaction didn’t go through because my address details were incorrect. I checked my account, and the address was IDENTICAL to that on my bank statements, and I had definately put my switch card details in correctly.
I rang the bank up, and they said they hadn’t refused any transaction from play.com, and that they were talking rubbish.
I tried to put the order through again, but it didn’t work.
Apparently my account is now blacklisted because their own system doesn’t really work.

Re: T?-shirts at Download 2004 in Chit-Chat
I was in a T? shirt. It was the black “Hey satan you rock” one. I saw two more of those. I saw a guy with a blue T? shirt on, and his girlfriend had a black one on.
I also saw the guy with dreads, and a blonde girl with a baby-t with Therapy? across the boobs (very nice :).
I’m sure I saw at least 3 more as well.

Therapy? at the bigger festivals in Therapy? Live
Title: Therapy? at the bigger festivals
I was at download on the sunday and saw quite a few T?-shirts.. which was nice. I’ve never seen T? at a festival, but I would really like to.
I know they’re playing some “extreme sports” festival soon, but you have to buy a whole weekend ticket for it, and they’re the only thing there i’d want to see :(
So basically what I’m saying is, I would love to see T? to play Ozzfest, Download or Reading… maybe their next album will be big enough to make that happen.
But then again, I wouldn’t want them to stop playing tiny pubs where the stage is just a few inches from the crowd. I guess I want T? to be big enough to play big festivals, but not so big they don’t play tiny pubs…

Centuries of Sin, The Emerald Law, and the bonus track (featuring Jack Black?) are my favourites, I think.

Probot in Other Bands & Artists
Title: Probot
Bought Probot the other day (Dave Grohl’s “metal” sideproject for those living under a rock for the past 3 years), and I have to say it kick ass! Definately worth getting.
Incindentally, I got myself a Probot hoodie, shipped all the way from america, for £19! Why do all the band hoodies i’ve seen in the UK cost between £30-£40!?

Get well soon Martin! I saw you guys at Reading, and I’m really glad I went to a gig where you were all there. It was the best gig I’ve ever been to I think.
See you on the next tour!

Re: Hoodies in General Therapy? Topics
Well, I’m 24 and I’m a hoodie wearer. (is this Hoodies anonymous? ;-) ). My ‘favourite’ hoodie was my Machine Head one, but that has now been bumped to second place with the purchase of my black “Heavyfuckingmetal” Therapy? hoodie at the Reading gig.
Actually, speaking of bootleg merchendise, I remember seeing System of a Down at the Brixton accademy, and after buying an official T-shirt, I remember being annoyed when I came outside that not only were the bootlegs much better, but I could have got two of them… The bootleg SOAD stuff really kicked ass.

Re: what do you think the WORST 3 T? songs are? in General Therapy? Topics
I am a really big T? fan, but there are a few songs I’m not so keen on. I can’t stand Diane. 3 notes on a cello get soooo boring so quickly.
Mind you, it gave me a chance to go to the toilet in the middle of the Reading gig on friday! (which was the best gig i’ve been to in many years. There just aren’t any live bands to beat T?, IMHO).

Re: Bands that get gradually worse in Other Bands & Artists
Machine Head definately got worse over time. Their debut, ‘Burn My Eyes’ was awesome. Really great. The more things change was also good, but then everything went very odd on ‘The Burning Red’. I like the Burning Red, but I think it went too far towards trying to be rap-metal which is a style I don’t really like. Then, Supercharger was so bad its the only Machine Head album I didn’t buy.
HOWEVER, the new album is actually pretty good, and seems to some way to recapturing what was so good about their original sound.

Re: I finally picked up High Anxiety… in General Therapy? Topics
Title: Hmmm
To be honest, I don’t care whether an album is “experimental” or not, or what other bands are doing. All I care about is that when I stick a CD in my player, I want to crank the volume up because it sounds good.
To me, High Anxiety sounds much better than Shameless, Semi Detached or Suicide Pact. I’m undecided whether I prefer Infernal Love or High Anxiety; I like them both a lot. But nothing touches Troublegum, in my opinion.

Re: Red Hot Chilli Peppers in Other Bands & Artists
I really don’t understand their appeal, tbh. Most of their songs sound like intros that are building up to something, but never quite get there.
The vocal style gets on my nerves, and the songs all sound very similar (not always a bad thing; but it helps if you like the song ;). I really can’t think of one positive thing to say about them.
And to top it off, one of them gets to shag Carmen Electra, and thats *MY* job ;-)
