I used to set my stereo-thingy to come on and play this just to make sure I got out of bed to turn it off - got me up and ready for work in time, every time.
I used to do the reverse of waking the hungover up when I was at Uni - I’d come in pissed at silly times of the morning and start playing drums, badly and LOUD. I used to have the music and/or stomping about inflicted upon me.

I’m hoping that the name is something they’ve thrown out there for a laugh. It does sound pretty weak in a lets just stick two words together and hope kinda way.

Re: Haveyou ever met a rock star and not even realised it? in Other Bands & Artists
I met the singer guy from Maximo Park a few years back outside a recordshop in Manchester. They were doing a signing there but I had no idea who they were and spoke to him outside and asked what was going on. When he told me I said I hadn’t heard of them but good luck with it all, he responded with “Thanks, enjoy your chips.”.
Rock ‘n’ roll!

Re: The end for Velvet Revolver in Other Bands & Artists
The first 2 or 3 STP albums were great but then I lost interest abit. The later ones didn’t really grab me - only a couple of decent songs per album and then well, what was “Shangri-la-de-fucking-da” about? Just seemed weak and boring to me that record.
Never been that interested in VR and I have to say, I’m abit confused by the fact that I now don’t care if STP have re-formed (I think I should, but just don’t feel it), which is a shame as I loved them in t’good old days. Still I’d probably buy a new album just for completeness.
I’ve contributed nothing here haven’t I? Bugger. *goes back to wine glass and talks in there*

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists
Dig is yet another awesome Cave album, though i still prefer No More Shall We Part - one of my fave albums on the face of Earth.
At min I’ve gone for lots of Radiohead - Kid A, Hail To The Thief and In Rainbows - not being a knob, I just prefer them to anything they did before (much as I like the early records)
Oh, and American Doll Posse (Tori Amos), just re-discovered this tonight aswell. M-I-L…

Re: U23D in Other Bands & Artists
I saw that projection from R2D2 and I have to say it wasn’t that impressive - very small image, a one person show and it wasn’t very long either. I think people will want there money back if they go to the cinema and…oh wait, that says U232 doesn’t it? Is that a boat?

Cranks one of those records that taught me alot about drumming when I was younger. Always remember having a phase of listening to Crank and Deliverance by COC around the same time. Ah, good times! :D

Bloody hell, I remember seeing Muse in The Roadhouse in Manchester all the way back in 1999 and even hanging about after and getting stuff signed and whatnot. That was before Showbiz was released the first time - they’ve gone a long way and fair play to them, fucking great band! :)
