Re: Gigs in Leeds in Other Bands & Artists

May try it, cheers. :)

Hope the Lounge get back to you, if not tell me and I’ll harass them ‘til they do! Well, I’m off out for said bassists birthday tonight so I’ll tell him later anyway.

Re: Gigs in Leeds in Other Bands & Artists

Aye, good band and good guys to boot! Or maybe gits because they’ve robbed our bassist! :D Nah, I’ll let ‘em off.

Does this mean I can’t put them on the ‘bands you like that nobody else does/knows of’ type thread? :D

Re: Gigs in Leeds in Other Bands & Artists

Fantastico! I’d recommed grabbing ‘Regret’ from the music/audio section- its pretty good for something that was done in five hours and its good as a pointer as to what Lounge are like. :)

Re: Gigs in Leeds in Other Bands & Artists

I know ages ago I said my lot were looking for gigs and whatnot but laziness appears to have overcome half the band so we’re doing bugger all at the mo. However! Check out these chappies;

This is our bassists ‘other’ yet more active and better known band.

Re: great lost bands of the 90s in Other Bands & Artists

Yes! I do! I can answer my own question! There was an album called “Almost Heathen” out in 2001 on non other than Spitfire Records. May have to find and buy that. Why didn’t I use a search engine first? D’oh!

Re: great lost bands of the 90s in Other Bands & Artists

Whats happened to Karma To Burn? I’ve got two albums but never heard anything again. Also never saw them live- my brother saw them in years ago Leicester by chance and said they were amazing. Anyone know anything?

Re: Best hidden track on any album? in Other Bands & Artists

“12 Gracious Melodies” eh? As simple as that? Cool. Was never too sure if it was. Cheers! :)

Re: Best hidden track on any album? in Other Bands & Artists

I do like them, always have but I can never resist taking the piss out of them either. I got an interesting variation on the cover of St Anger the other day which brought me hours of smirking post viewing smirk action- its the hand, but its holding a dick- genius, just genius :)

Re: Best hidden track on any album? in Other Bands & Artists

A quick top 5 (sort of);

1. Damone - Deftones
2. Never Ending - T?
3. The Jhonny Mathis thing at the end of Tiny Music by STP just because its strange and funny to play in work and look at the customers thinking “What the fuck is this?”
4. Disgustipated- Tool(I know its listed as the last track on Undertow but the way its done confused the hell out of me the first time- didn’t read that there were 69 tracks before playing the album)
5. The weirdness on the end of River Runs Red - Life of Agony

Ps. Do the guitars on St Anger count as hidden?!?! :D

Re: the worst concert you’ve ever been at… in Other Bands & Artists

Thankyou! I forgot that they show up at the bottom of the boards til I got here this morning.

Oh, I’ve had a thought about worst gigs- Soundgarden were bad because they couldn’t be arsed but my bassist’s other band supported Violent Delight over a year ago and all was fine until they got back to the venue (the Roadhouse in Manchester) after grabbing some food and beer to find that all their gear had been thrown into the middle of the crowd because Violent Delight are signed and so the dressing room (imagine a toilet bowl, but smaller)was “Violent Delight’s dressing room”. So the inevitable question was asked of the audience by said support act; “Who’s ready for some VD then? You want some VD dont ya?!” HA!

To top it off VD were actually very crap and I dont think they cant count beyond four simultaneously- they were way out from each other.

Actually I’ll still go with Soundgarden because I had expectations for that gig.

:)

Re: the worst concert you’ve ever been at… in Other Bands & Artists

Have to agree with the Soundgarden option. I saw them in Manchester in ‘95 and it was the crapest thing I’d ever seen. They didn’t want to be there and didn’t care if the audience knew it. Moby was supporting that night and whether Soundgarden had been crap or not I dont think that they could have topped his set which came complete with a cover of Paranoid that wasn’t as cringe worthy as it may sound!

But yes, Soundgarden were shite. Shame really.
