Some cunt I used to work with nicked my RFTC hoodie - I was well upset but couldn’t prove it. Its best moment was Abe Cunningham from Deftomes walking to their tour bus and stopping to comment “Yeah man, RFTC fucking rock, what a fucking band!”

I must admit I have fallen in love with Dirty Three in a fucking huge and massive way - spine shivering stuff, every single song!

I’ll check Conet when the Mrs ain’t bout complaining about my noise.

Tonights soundtrack is The Might Boosh and Yourcodenameismilo, with a hint of Manchild+Cairnsy

:D

Re: Muse in Other Bands & Artists

Bloody hell, I remember seeing Muse in The Roadhouse in Manchester all the way back in 1999 and even hanging about after and getting stuff signed and whatnot. That was before Showbiz was released the first time - they’ve gone a long way and fair play to them, fucking great band! :)

Re: britpop… a reminder in Other Bands & Artists

Nah, not the New Order one ;)

This one was yapping on about himself like he was God and that Marion had been the most important thing to ever happen, plus a load of other bilge tha he pumped out of his mouth. The most arrogant-self-important-and-from-what-I’d-just-
seen-moments-before-nothing-special-guitarist I’ve ever come across.

I had a low opinion of him after all that but when, on my slightest mention of T? he launched into a lecture on “How shit Andy Cairns is” I thought “Maybe glassing him will shut him up.”

Re: britpop… a reminder in Other Bands & Artists

Does anyone remeber a band called Marion?

Met the one of the guitarists and his new band a while back - what a cunt.

Dammit Gav! I was gonna say Vai! You must be in league with that Kinderbeastchild! *suspects Gav of selling his soul to Kinder in return for paranormal powers*

Me too - saw them for the first time support 3 Colours Red, then the next week with Feeder and met them afterward when Matt told me they’d be headlining next time they played Manchester. They did but it was the Roadhouse, still met them after that and they were cool guys, but not as cool as T? ;) :D

Ah beer, makes me twat about things other people don’t give a fuck for :D

So…another tour. Haven’t they had 2 farewell tours? Now a ‘back from the dead tour’.
Considering they have got progressively worse over the years, and keep telling the british public they are going for good, something makes me feel some of the fans are getting cheated out of their money.

“Indefinite hiatus” was what the statement said wasn’t it? So whats with the farewell tour bit?

As for getting cheated, people are going to see a band they want to see. Hows that being cheated?

Progressively worse? Care to actually quantify that rather than just push an opinion as a truth of the world?

:p :D

Re: Tubaculosis in Other Bands & Artists

Yeah the brass floored me when I first heard them - not what I expected at all what with it being brass and all! Damn good band.
