I’d have said an engineer’s view- then they could construct a smaller vessel- imagine a small glass covered in scaffold! :D Well, maybe not. :)
Don’t really know Splinter, still like to stick Ignition on occasionally though.

Maybe the drinking vessel is twice the size it needs to be for the volume of fluid it contains. :D Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Re: Gigs in Leeds in Other Bands & Artists
May try it, cheers. :)
Hope the Lounge get back to you, if not tell me and I’ll harass them ‘til they do! Well, I’m off out for said bassists birthday tonight so I’ll tell him later anyway.

Re: Gigs in Leeds in Other Bands & Artists
Aye, good band and good guys to boot! Or maybe gits because they’ve robbed our bassist! :D Nah, I’ll let ‘em off.
Does this mean I can’t put them on the ‘bands you like that nobody else does/knows of’ type thread? :D

Re: Gigs in Leeds in Other Bands & Artists
Fantastico! I’d recommed grabbing ‘Regret’ from the music/audio section- its pretty good for something that was done in five hours and its good as a pointer as to what Lounge are like. :)

Re: Gigs in Leeds in Other Bands & Artists
I know ages ago I said my lot were looking for gigs and whatnot but laziness appears to have overcome half the band so we’re doing bugger all at the mo. However! Check out these chappies;
http://www.bluetilelounge.co.uk
This is our bassists ‘other’ yet more active and better known band.

Re: 90’s subculture in Chit-Chat
Egypt apparently
Curator of ancient mystical secrets, your life on the surface is fairly typical these days. Though you are in denial about more things than most people. Nevertheless, you’re trying to convince people that you’re safe despite your more volatile and unstable times that seem to be behind you. You like cats a whole lot.
And nu-metal for the subculture. That can’t be right!

Re: Martin leaves Therapy? a 3 piece in General Therapy? Topics
Now these T? fellas dont add up! Yeah I told Andy that the reason I started playing was because of Lars Ulrich and Fyfe and we got chatting about him. Andy said the Fyfe felt that he didn’t do enough for drumming (I suppose in the way of inspiring others to play or in the way they play) aswell as the other reasons for his depature. He then did tell that he was still a good mate and that he’d actually tell Fyfe. Then again I was pissed so he have been trying to get rid of me :) come to think he got Neil over pretty soon after that and did one… hmmm… :D

Title: Drummers are wise
Indeed! And we have other amazing powers aswell!
I was reading the diary entries for the last tour the night before Martin’s departure was announced. In there its clear that the guys were obviously cool with seeing Graham again and there wasn’t anything bad there. Added to that, their still very good mates with Fyfe as I understand it and Andy told me that. So lets just see what happens in time; I doubt that they’d leave it much longer before letting us know and what Coopersdrummer said seems perfectly plausable really. It doesn’t have to mean a big split and problems between any of them.
I know I’ll follow what Martin does in the future the same way I have with Graham and Fyfe. Oh, and all the guys from Pitchshifter- now theres a band that didn’t stop because everyone hated each other, it just wasn’t right anymore.

Are we going to hear anything about it on thursday then if Andys on totalrock? I’d rather not hear it that way but please can someone tell us something?

Re: Kits of the World in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Thats another thing on my list for kit expansion- another tom. I want to put an 18” X 18” floor tom on it but everyone I’ve said that to thinks its a silly idea and I should get an 8” mounted one- fools! I want a evil meaty bugger for double stops and rolls like thunder :D
Other stuff I want would definately by more cymbals- some more ‘off the beaten track’ ones like swishes and to mess about with putting rivets in stuff. Oh and lots more chinas because I love ‘em! :)

Re: Kits of the World in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Yeah the bassist in my band has got me doing things I’ve not tried before (in a musical sense!) and I feel I’ve improved alot for it. It good when that happens.
I once jammed with a bassist who was obsessed with Dream Theatre and it just didn’t work. That’ll be the other end of he spectrum then.
Oh and if your kit, or your drummer’s kit was an animal, what would it be? No ignore that, I’m drunk.

Re: Martin leaves Therapy? a 3 piece in General Therapy? Topics
Fuck! That seems very weird and sudden- I logged on here yesterday morning and noticed that though he didn’t post, Martin was on here looking about and what not. What happend? Man that sucks.
But still, all the best to Martin in whatever he does next. Also, a big thankyou for being part of Therapy? and making great music thats helped in so many ways over the years.
Could say more but it doesn’t seem right written down so I’ll just say;
Cheers Mr McC!
Right! I’m going to attack the red wine aswell!

Re: Kits of the World in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
I’d say try a Z Custom for ting and ping- they’ve got tonnes. The only problem with mine is because its a 22” and so heavy, it takes a while to respond and get the wash going unless I really lay into it but then it doesn’t want to stop :)
I tune my 10” tom a little higher aswell but not nealy high enough to get that Fyfe sound- I do want a second snare that I can crank right up though, but I can’t afford it at the moment and I’m not sure exactly what to go for.

Re: Godset, Denmark 2003 bootleg for trade in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade
At first I thought that those numbers would have been track length, then on closer inspection an hour and a half version of isolation seems a bit much. I’m clever me :)

Re: Kits of the World in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Cool! This is my machine of neighbour annoyance and I’ve spent more of my student loan on it than anything for uni and it feels good!
Yamaha Oak Custom (Blue Ridge Blue Oak)
22” X 17” Bass Drum 2 - because its more metal that way!
10” X 9” Tom
12” X 10” Tom
14” X 12” “Floor” Tom - its mounted of a cymbal stand but its down on the right.
14” X 5” Snare- Oak in blue ridge as well.
Cymbals;
Zildjians-
22” Z Custom Ride
18” A series Rock Crash
17” A Custom Crash
18” Z Custom China
10” A Series Splash
10” K Series Splash
9” Trash Splash
14” Z custom(top)/A mastersound hats.
12”/14” Oriental Trash Hats
Pearl hardware including a pair Eliminators for the BD’s
Protection Racket cases
Oh I use Ahead sticks quite a bit but not all the time.
I’ve seen and messed around in shops with Tama hardware but I just stuck with pearl because it was the first brand I bought and I like to have it all matching, oh and its good stuff too. Quite like the idea of the Tama series that leans in towards the drummer- nice idea and it looks cool.

Kits of the World in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Title: Kits of the World
After looking at the other posts I could find by using the search and putting in “kits” I thought;
1. No one really seems to have talked of their own kits, yet other gear gets discussed such as distortion units and whatnot.
2. Yet in other threads alot of people do seem to enjoy “talking shop” so why dont we do that eh?
Thus I hatched a plan to start this and ask what kits people have and any other bits and bobs about them which may be interesting. Then I had a third thought, oh yes, a third;
3. Even though we’re talking drums and its on the Therapy? board, lets try to avoid getting side tracked and the names Fyfe, Graham and Neil being in the same post, especailly when “better” and “worse” come up too. Please? :)
What does anyone else think? Should we begin?

Re: great lost bands of the 90s in Other Bands & Artists
Yes! I do! I can answer my own question! There was an album called “Almost Heathen” out in 2001 on non other than Spitfire Records. May have to find and buy that. Why didn’t I use a search engine first? D’oh!

Whats happened to Karma To Burn? I’ve got two albums but never heard anything again. Also never saw them live- my brother saw them in years ago Leicester by chance and said they were amazing. Anyone know anything?

Re: any rockstars in manchester? in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Whey! I put a post up at the site Mike Dolbear two days ago saying I wanted to find some people to jam with because my band isn’t active often enough, check it out;
http://www.mikedolbear.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1178
The most important point is that I’d quite like to do some stuff like T? coz I’ve been playing loads of metal stuff recently and fancied a bit of a change.
So, if you wanna jam and see how things go let me know. By the way I normally jam at either the Greehouse in Stockport or G2 near picc station. Oh, not sure I’m rockstar but I can try :)
Cheers

Re: what was the last gig you went to? in Chit-Chat
I was quite impressed by Auf der Maur in Manchestria aswell. I wasn’t sure about APC though- they had some good ideas for the show, lighting etc, and by the end I’d warmed to it but I seem to remember large periods of time watching Josh and trying to work out what his cymbal setup was- a sign that the rest of it wasn’t too enthralling eh?
Oh and request of the band no to smoke? A mate of mine met Troy Van Leeuwen when Enemy suported Mark Lanegan (I think) a few months ago and according to him all such things are done because of Maynard alone. For example the reason that they only played for an hour last time round in the Academy. Silly wig wearing man- wonder when he’ll stop people talking at gigs! :D

Re: Therapy and drugs? in General Therapy? Topics
Jaegermeister…eerrrrgggghhhh. Made me collapse last week that stuff did. Well, it was a pound for a testube of some weird Jager cocktail. It was like giving a monkey a climbing frame and saying “Leave it alone you!”.
Anyway I heard somewhere years ago that Andy blamed the drugs for him gaining weight around the Semi-detached period- thats not very heroin or pills like is it? Just a thought.

Re: The DVD in General Therapy? Topics
I’ve got some numbers!!! My shop got none in and sold none even though I pestered the hell out of the managment to get some and they eventually said they would- and then proceeded not to. However that could be seen as a 100% strike rate as it were :D And actually on that it means I’ve never seen a copy in the flesh which begs the question “Do they really exist?”
Then again they’ve only had a total of 12 copies of High Anxiety pass through the shop. All we ever have in is Nurse and Suicide Pact. Oh yeah I tried HMV (ergh!) up the way from my place and they told me it had been deleted.
So you see- hard facts, but of no use.
