Yes, this is a debate of sorts but to answer my own question I think it might stand a chance.

Does what it says on the tin.

I regard CT as one of the best albums T? have made; as already noted, there’s not a duff track on there and they did tour quite a bit, which is something they hadn’t done for a while. Just hope they do the same for the new stuff.

Like what I’ve heard, sounds promising.

The best stuff would be their A&M years, for obvious reasons. True, our fave band might not have the six figure sales but it’ll sell. T?’s got a strong fan base that’ll buy anything they missed out first time around, myself included.

First T? purchase album wise was Nurse and bought BT and PD later on but bought Troublegum pretty close to its release.

Breaking The Law was great but their Iron Man cover was flat.

As for another cover, Concrete Jungle by the Specials or Running Free by Iron Maiden wouldn’t go amiss.

Little gutted that I didn’t add a few words.

In saying that, however, and I might have mentioned this here, I’m currently rewriting a novel that mentions a T? gig where two of the characters cross paths.

That’s all I’m going to say on the matter…oh, and one of them has a Gemil tatt on his neck too.

I recall Andy saying this on stage at Aberystwyth before the band went into Don’t Expect Roses, November 1998:

Michael’s Catholic, I’m Prodestant, Graham’s from Southern Ireland and Martin’s from England and if you believe in what a politician says, then we should’nt be on this stage.

I remember those words (or to that effect) pretty well.

The guitar does sound detuned, Squall, but that said it did grow on me

My copy finally came this morning.

Verdict - live albums are usually hit and miss affairs and this isn’t any different (oh god, I sense some of you lot are sharpening the knives as you read this) but most tracks come off a lot better than their studio originals.

Pre-ordered mine from HMV three weeks ago but they’re now getting their supplies from a stockest before they send me a copy.

Its not T?’s fault or the management but the distributers not getting them to the warehouses on time. Christ, release dates, can’t rely on ‘em.

Thanks for that Hooch, spooky how this morning I won an auction on ebay for the Manics Street Preachers - Holy Bible picture disc from the same shop.

Just checked the link and the biding has ended.

I’ve got vinyl copies of Nurse and Pleasure Death but I’m not ready to part with them yet.

He’s not Michael Bolton or those serious 80’s singers (thankfully) but his vocals are good for the job, end of.

Not sure about that, Soul Doubt, they somewhat cheapen the appeal of the work. I’d rather the albums that I taped when i was a kid than buy those.

Taping albums…now that is going back a bit.
