I think this is pathetic. The lad is in her final year in school and his important year too, and the school is living in a dreconian era. The isolation/seperation from his friends will do more harm than good.

I’m probably sitting on a fence on this one, though no doubt my arse would have broken that fence by now.

Michael was probably picked out for the panal as he has an understanding of rock music. Though I have never seen the programme in question, I take it this is very much like the ‘Rock School’ shows that I once watched when I was 13. I doubt that he has a favourite nor does he hate an act that doesn’t appeal to him. Not biased in other words. He could well like a hip hop band over any rock band on the show for all I know.

But I do see this format rearing its head on the mainstream somehow. There’s bound to be a market in the mainstream, even if its all for credibility reasons, and not on regional television. Shame that MTV’s Battle For Ozzfest didn’t get the audience it should have or have something like that for this country and around Europe, seeing if people/bands are really cut out for a career in the music industry. We all know that the X Factor is a gloss, bullying show where the muppets are controled, so why not have something that shows that if people want it, they work for it.

Why are we having this debate?
