Re: Kerrang 100 best British rock albums in General Therapy? Topics

It was good to see three of T?’s albums there though. Okay, they should’ve had a higher placing, but at least they got in the chart.

I’ve just got a printout of it - I want one too!

Re: Andy - long or short hair? in General Therapy? Topics

It has to be short. When I saw the video for Screamager all those years ago for the first time, I thought Andy was cute.

Well, I would say that, wouldn’t I?

Re: Therapy? just get better & better in General Therapy? Topics

Can’t really say I can disagree there.

Re: Well well, Mike and Neil…regarding Kerrang… in General Therapy? Topics

I’ve got to agree on that. Goat of Mendes and Choronzon are both great albums.

Re: The Chemicals Ripped off T? in General Therapy? Topics

First, our band gets ignored, now they’re getting ripped off.

ITS NOT ON.

Re: Interview Therapy? in General Therapy? Topics

This might be a little cheesy or whatever, I’d like to ask:

WILL YOU BOYS BE AS POPULAR AS YOU WERE 93/94/95 EVER AGAIN?

I’m sorry, but this needs to be asked. Anyway, people need to know this band still exists and win them back over.

Rant over…for now, anyway.

I type using two fingers, and I’m pretty fast.

Re: What Happened to Fyfe? in General Therapy? Topics

From what I remember, Fyfe and the other boys parted on good terms. Yes, Fyfe had enough of touring, yet he did resurface a few years ago in another band, whose name has escaped me and have not been heard since.

Re: So much for the 20 year plan in General Therapy? Topics

Joey and I Am The Money from Shamless

Hey Satan You Rock and Rust from HA

Rise Up and Long Distance from NANE

As for the bonus tracks, well, I’m sure they’ve got some stuff not released from previous recording sessions, so use them.

Re: Best album cover in General Therapy? Topics

My Fave T? covers has to be either Pleasure Death or Troublegum. Best EP/Single cover has to be for the Short Sharp Shock EP - Zip, Razorblade, says what type of music you were going to buy.

In fact, it was my first T? purchase.

Re: Songs T? should play live… in General Therapy? Topics

When Nurse was released in 1992, Kerrang! printed an T? interview. Andy Cairns said that the people that pogo’d at their gigs were the same people that cried their eyes out when they heard ‘Gone’, Andy’s story of an old girlfriend.

That track sends shivers down my spine everytime I hear it and though I doubt it very much they played it at all on stage, I reckon it would send off the same emotions on stage as it would on Nurse.

Quiet start, mournful (as the song is), with a thrashy ending.

I think we can only picture the band doing it.

Re: Tightrope Walker in General Therapy? Topics

I don’t think the song is that bad. Its not their best, but its a good song about walking when your drunk.

Now, we all know the T? boys like a drink and Andy came up with some good words for the song.

Re: Favorite T?- song title/album title in General Therapy? Topics

Now this is a good topic. Therapy? do know how to come up with some top titles, that ease with originality.

Here are my faves:

(song titles)
Screamager
Knives
Stop It You’re Killing Me
Wall of Mouths
Church of Noise
The Boy’s Asleep
Not That Kind of Girl
Rise Up (Make Yourself Well)
Last One To Heaven Is A Loser
Long Distance

As for album titles, here goes:

Pleasure Death
Troublegum
Suicide Pact - You First
Never Apologise, Never Explain

Re: Well well, Mike and Neil…regarding Kerrang… in General Therapy? Topics

Aye, not bad, though I thought you were meant to be blind folded for that task.

Look forward to the next Akercocke, by the way, if you say who you really are.

Re: Press attention in General Therapy? Topics

I remember reading that review myself. I don’t think the person who wrote that review was going against the band, but all he/she was saying that the place was far from being sold out and Helmet were playing in the LA2 below - not great, plus its close to Christmas.

Just hope they do another tour(and with hope, they play Swansea)and see what audeince our band really has.

Re: Screamager in General Therapy? Topics

If I’m honest, Kerrang! has seen better days. They might have been good to our band on this occasion, but their heads are so up the arse of HIM and the like.

Re: Artcile in Metal Hammer few years ago about collecting Therapy? stuff in General Therapy? Topics

If i remember rightly, Kerrang! had this suppliment about record collecting and they had an article about Therapy?’s then impressive back catalouge.

At the time, their Meat Abstract single that the boys put out themselves was being collected for thirty quid plus. I have no idea how much its worth now though.

Better still, Record Collecter had a feature on the boys and printed a list of what they put out - fan singles that were given away at gigs, demo tapes, rare pressings of Baby Teeth and Pleasure Death, as well as the albums in the shops - with a price guide.

Hope this helps.

Re: How old are Therapy? fans???? in General Therapy? Topics

I was 17 when i heard/saw Teethgrinder and Nuasea promos on MTV but it was Screamager, like a lot of us, that got me hooked on Therapy?

I’m 29 now but everytime I play Troublegum it takes me back to better times - like going out to a club that played indie/metal and they’d play Therapy?, not forgetting the first time I saw them at the Cardiff Astoria on 30/11/1994.

I had it done at Skin N Ink, a tattoo studio in Swansea. Great people to boot as well.

T?attoos in General Therapy? Topics

Title: T? Tattoos

Last week, I had my first tattoo done. I have been meaning to have one done for years, but last week finally done it.

I had Therapy?s Pleasure Death album cover done. It hurt a little and it was done in two hours. I’ve already got a second tattoo, a Biohazard sign, though the next one I might have done is a Gemil face - right under the two eyeless faces.

The tattoo is still healing at the moment, but it looks great. I’ve got a photo of it on my mobile, so is there a way that I can send it from that?

I look forward to the response.

Cheers, Fatboy

Re: BBC album of the year in General Therapy? Topics

I’ve just put in a good word in for the boys just now. An underated album from an underated band, I wrote. Anyone going to disagree with me on that?

Re: So, who bought the new collector’s edition of Scopophobia? in General Therapy? Topics

I must be honest, it was never mentioned in Kerrang! that a reissue of this great live set was to be re-released. However, I’m sticking with the DVD. But why Spitfire are doing this is beyond me; Therapy? fans might be loyal but it was never going to get the sales that Troublegum had (I know I’ve said this before, so you’re gonna have to forgive me)so why do it.

I won’t be buying the latest version. Anyway, I doubt if they were in our boots/trainers/slipers, Andy & boys wouldn’t have bothered either.

Re: The Spitfire albums in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Spitfire Albums

NANE had me hooked on first listen, just like Troublegum did ten years earlier. HA is a good album, but NANE has rawness and catchy hooks that made me play the album many times over when it was released 27/9/04.

Re: The A&M Albums in General Therapy? Topics

This wasn’t difficult and I’ve got two, and out of those two, Semi-Detacthed is the one, with the other one being Troublegum.

Its probably their must underated album that didn’t get the attention it deserved like the previous two. Had it been released a year earlier, perhaps things might have been different.

The fact that A&M crashed after the album’s release didn’t help matters much and with nu - metal coming, Therapy? were written off.

But bollocks. Church of Noise, the opening track and first single (No.29, if I remember rightly) sounds like it could’ve have been on Troublegum, and its closing track, The Boy’s Asleep, is just haunting.

By the way, on its release, my copy was stamped with the Gemil face and release date - WHAT A COLLECTORS ITEM!

Re: I can hear that “St. Anger” influence in the new album… in General Therapy? Topics

I don’t there’s hardly a influence of St Anger on NANE, but Therapy? have been influenced by Metallica, so I’m going to leave it at that.

Re: Best NANE track in General Therapy? Topics

For me, Long Distance’ has to be my favourate track on the album, but ‘Rise Up’ is a mighty fine opening though. Boys, you’ve done us proud again.

Re: T? on ‘Headbangers Ball’ in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Therapy? on Headbanger’s Ball

I know what you’re enquiring about, because I SAW THE SHOW MYSELF. It was shown on Sunday night with Andy and Michael presenting the show. It was a good show, but I didn’t have the video in the living room to tape it. I also remember the boys drinking as well, not that I was surprised.

If anything, it proved the boys can cross over to the metal audience as well as the indie crowd all over Europe (as MTV was at the time).

Having read the other replies on this matter, someone got it right when they said that MTV ‘used’ to be a good channel. I remember those days well, cause MTV hardly play music these days, now dedecated to arse-kissing celeb shows (and coming to think about it, MTV2 isn’t up to much either. They don’t play our favourate band for a start).

Enough, and glad to share the memories.

Title: Jackass

Jackass? Has anyone seen Dirty Sanchez? That show blows Bam and co out of the water. Oh, and they’re Welsh as well, but I’m biased cause I’m a Welshman myself
