Listen - Metallica’s stuff since Puppets have been hit and miss, its that simple, though I doubt that Cliff would be in the band if he was still around.

I wonder how much those rare coloured/picture discs are selling for.

Two more albums, the more grindcore stuff, and I can’t wait - I’m looking forward to them more than I am with the new Slipknot and Metallica releases.

Hey, at least its getting T?’s name around in the States again.

I saw ‘Tallica when they headlined Donington with T? behind them - they were boring as shit.

They played a little of Remember Tomorrow and that was the highlight.

A very underated guitarist, if there ever was one, Cuchulain.

And having read the article, Sub Pop never became a big label during the grunge era. But in saying that, they probably have better bands on the label that have no intention of breaking big.

And too right I bought Terrorizer.

Kurt’s only on the cover because the other Seattle/Sub Pop bands are not that well known outside the music press as Nirvana were. I might buy it myself, along with the latest edition of Terrorizer as they have Carcass on the cover.

Probably speed up a little by the time they start recording, but so far so good.

I watched that programme about adults that can’t read or write, people from 20 to 58, the teacher thinks the material he’s got to teach them is crap (government set, if I remember rightly) and the ones being taught are close to having break downs.

For some reason, it just got me back to my primary school, from the age of seven till ten. It was a Speical Needs school, which at the time, which had the mentally handicapped and the ones not quite ready for mainstream education (that’ll be me), and in that group, there were those that could easly read a book with a few sentances that were on the page, others struggled a little. Some could add and take away, some couldn’t.

I remember very well that we usually watched videos on a Friday afternoon, went on trips every other week, sang songs every other Wedneday, had three Christmas parties (fuck knows who funded them)…you get the picture.

I finally joined mainstream education in the autumn of 1985…where I struggled with the times table, spelling, telling the time, Maths…

Comp…useless teachers, some didn’t bother teaching (I remember the 3rd year when doing History, just copy what was on the blackboard, or she couldn’t be bothered, do a word search…Art, a subject which I enjoyed in the previous years but the old garbage guts of a teacher I had made it known that he doesn’t teach remedial classes, so he just gave us pencils and paper and left us…but he forgot the crayons)…what else…oh, the teacher I had for Maths, History, RE (which she shoved down my throat) and Italian - any fuck up in the class would play up and she’d raise hell for the rest of the lesson arguing with them, chasing them around the school…now wonder I didn’t sit any of the exams she was meant to teach me (whilst I’m at it, read the other post about my religous beliefs and tat’ll give you another idea of the place that made me have a breakdown several years later).

Oh, I forgot, I was diganosed dyslexic ten years after I left school.

And I’ll be watching that programme again next Monday, cause my heart is with those people.

Now why haven’t I put in a word here? Well, since some of you have issues with religion, could I have some space to have my say on the bollocks that is the Catholic Church, me being a lapsed Catholic and all that.

My teacher used to shove church services down our throats, and I would later find out why - to put some money in the church’s coffers. She thought that Catholism was the only religon that mattered but didn’t think that the troubles in Northen Ireland were based on religion. Honestly, some of the teachers were as bad as the bastards that picked on me as they’d turn a blind eye to what was happening under their noses. Most days we were forced to go to mass during the lunch hour where the priest shoved down our throats for us to consider the priesthood in our adult lives - oh, the old man in question used to walk round stroking the kids as if they were pets in an animal shelter, and there’s them saying homosexuality is wrong.

In short, I got fucked around quite a bit in school and you know what, I do wonder if the Lord himself would let them through his so called golden gates.

Here’s another whilst we’re on the subject - have you noticed how wealthy the church is, where the people who go there, mostly old, can’t fund their gas bill and then expected to make a donation.
