Re: Stage dive gone wrong in Leeds in Chit-Chat
This is rare. Most stage dives are usually done with safety, with the audience helping. But its happened, yet it won’t be for the last time.

Re: Greatest Therapy? lyric in General Therapy? Topics
There is one lyric of T?’s that always pulls the heart strings.
I know about the scars on your arms
I know that you’re baby wasn’t born
I know that your mam hates your dad
I know that it fucked up your head
Then there’s the upbeat songs
I’ve got nothong to do
Except get screwed up on you
And from that same album
I wanna crawl inside and die
I wanna crawl inside and die
I wanna crawl inside and DIE

I think it sounds right. Oh, and I’m up for the Box Set too, but haven’t had this discussion before.

Re: What song should T? cover? in General Therapy? Topics
Talking about another Joy Division cover, how about they do New Dawn Fades from Unknown Pleasures. If you hear the opening riff from ‘This Ship Sinking’ from NANE, they are both very similer.
The Danzig covers would be great, and how about an Iron Maiden cover, say, Running Free (from Iron Maiden).

Re: Therapy? on ‘Nativity in Black’ in General Therapy? Topics
Got to be honest, though the idea for the collaberation was good, but the track (for me at least) seemed a little weak compared to the other efforts. AND I’m not having a go at either T? or Ozzy.

Re: Isolation or Isolation? in General Therapy? Topics
I can’t decide. They’re both good, but T?’s is more heavier, whilst Joy Division’s goes well with the rest of Closer (the album that it was taken from).

BNP Founder dies in Chit-Chat
Title: BNP Founder dies
I’ve not been on this site for the past week, and this is the only chance I’ve managed to grab. I’m surprised that this conversation hasn’t come up.
If you didn’t know, John Tyndall, founder of the British National Party (BNP), died on Tuesday morning (19/7/05). By rights, he was due in a Leeds court to face race hate charges.
I think its safe to say that none of us here on WoM are going to miss him. Not that I usually speak of the dead, but good riddence to him, and enough said.

What about the Goonies? God, it was massive at the time, cause it was great and having bought the DVD yesterday, I’m still in love with it. Transformers, Gummi Bears, now Goonies.
When will ever my childhood stop following me…am I insane…? Oh bollocks to it…you’re only young once.

Listen, I’ve been reeking my lungs out for ten years. Other than having an addition, its just something I do. I did enjoy it, but its something I’ve got to give up. I couldn’t careless that some of you find it cool. I just have to give up…which ain’t easy, having tried three times before.
Smoking isn’t the thing for me now.

Re: Hip-Hop/Rap kind of thing… in Other Bands & Artists
Its worth checking out the Judgement Night soundtrack - a mix of metal and rap. Also in the same vein, get Stacked Up by Sensor.
I agree that PE’s It Takes a Nation of Millions is a classic album, as well as Cypress Hill’s Black Sunday. There’s to much crap around that passed off as rap these days.
Coming to think about it, doesn’t the UK have its own rap/hip hop scene or are we just sheep and just listen to what that wanna be Yank (twat) Tim Westwood for anything American?
Just a thought.

What about Breaking the Law?
Come on, lets sing:
Breaking the Law, Break the Law. Breaking the Law, Breaking the Law.
The Gimmie b-sides were top as well, so’s Evil Elvis.
They deserve an album just for this lot.

Re: REM on Tour 05 in Other Bands & Artists
Right,I write this in the day centre that I go too. At the moment, I’ve got the tour t-shirt on. I’ve got a dull ache in my right ankle…and I feel fine.
I wasn’t bothered that they didn’t play ‘Its The End…’, simply cause they played new tracks that were new to me (and to others), played These Days from Life’s Rich Pagent, most thought it was a new song, as was Exhuming McCarthy from Document.
Got to be honest, the encore had to be the highlight. That DJ song was pretty heavy for them, and I loved it.
Aye, I’m happy!!!!!

Today proved again how vulnerable our lives are, but that’s the price you have to pay to live in freedom, I’m afraid.
NME reports that tonight’s concerts as well as the hyde Park shows by Queen and R.E.M. in the next days have been postponed. I hope life can return to its normal flow as soon as possible.
I think they did the right thing. The concerts take place next week 15/7/05 - Queen and 16/7/05 REM. I am surprised that REM’s gig in Cardiff hasn’t been affected, but then again, I don’t think there’ll be any trouble.
The whole thing stinks yet in the back of my mind, I wasn’t surprised that it happened. This was well and truly planned by clerics that have been spewing their hate about the UK yet freely live on its benefits.

The Fuse by Pennywise has its moments, but doesn’t come close to Unknown Road or Full Circle. Now they are classic albums.

If you had the money you should definately buy “Heart and Soul” 4 disc boxed set. It has everything and slightly more :p
There’s some classic stuff on Heart and Soul, including the two albums (Closer, at times, has me to the brink of tears. Believe me)lives tracks (including a live set which was breath taking), and a couple of remixes.
However, there’s a few unissued tracks still in the vaults that we’ve yet to hear. That’s my only gripe with the otherwise faultless set.
Also, try reading Touching From A Distance by Ian’s widow Deborah. Talk about thought provoking. Whilst you’re at it, check out 24 Hour Party People.

Re: Best therapy album in General Therapy? Topics
1 - Semi - Detached cause it was a mix of the previous two.
2 - Troublegum. Like I really need to explain.
3 - Nurse as it was the first T? album I bought.
4 - Pleasure Death. Haunting, mental, mad, heavy, good lyrics that offend (I’m bitter, I’m twisted…)and just with six songs.
5 - Never Apologies, Never Explain. The album is that good that it should’ve broke them big.
Right, who’s going to argue with that.

Good luck in finding their back catalog, most of them aren’t on the shelves cause the bastard record companies have withdrew them.

Re: Best Therapy song in General Therapy? Topics
Has to be the song that got me into them - Screamager, first track on the ShortSharpShock EP and second track on Troublegum - yet Long Distance is my current track of choice. Mind, it usually changes from time to time, but I’ll stick with those two.

Re: Your Fave unknown band? in Other Bands & Artists
I’d have to add Black Train Jack. They were a New York band that were around when Life of Agony and Biohazard were starting to break through.
Though BTJ were not like those bands. I read the review for their first album, No Reward, in Kerrang!in August 1993 and basically said ‘if you like Therapy? or 70’s bands like the Skids and Sham 69, you’ll like this’ and I bought the album with some money I had from doing a pointless YTS thing…and I loved it. They toured with Sick of It All in September 1993.
They released their second album, You’re Not Alone, in the spring of 1994, just as the Offspring and Green Day were starting to break big, and label mates Dog Eat Dog (they were on the Roadrunner label)released the No Fronts album. However, they split in early 1995 and to say that I was gutted would be an understatement.
I say that cause I wrote off to them, thinking nothing more of it. However, I had a reply from their drummer, saying that they’d do a headlining tour of the UK (which didn’t happen)and had a sticker of the bands symbol.
Lets say I was in heaven and I’ve still got them.

Re: Foo Fighters- In Your Honour in Other Bands & Artists
I’ve only played the album once and I quite liked it. Okay, its not a patch on The Colour And The Shape, but the rock and acustic thing worked. (Some of the softer stuff could have been done by Jeff Buckly, and that’s no bad thing).
