Re: Therapy? mentioned on the QOTSA board in General Therapy? Topics

Well, according to Kerrang! (I should really stop buying this mag) thought the new album was crap, so there’s a bit of a backlash going on there, even if they do go on kissing their arses.

But bollocks what others think. QOTSA are popular cause their American and its no longer cool to be supporting a cult Irish three piece. Again, BOLLOCKS!

Shit, I think I’ve over done it there.

Re: What song or moment first got you into therapy? in General Therapy? Topics

The track that got me into T? was Screamager. I heard Teethgrinder, though it wasn’t till MTV played Screamager and Radio 1 playing it (when it charted) that I really got into them…er, I thought I had already done this one…but then again, I might be wrong.

Anyway, once I heard them and bought the ShortSharpShock EP and the Nurse album…and I’ve never looked back.

Re: New Single Poll…!! in General Therapy? Topics

Long Distance would make a great single. Also, with the right breaks, it might bring some new fans to the Church of Noise. The best time to release it is when they play Download this year.

Re: Knives (kiddies version) in General Therapy? Topics

A kiddies version of Knives? The only one I can think of is a Radio 1 Rock version around 1994, where some of the words had to be changed, as the set was broadcasted during a Sunday afternoon.

Hope this helps.

Re: This Is Menace in General Therapy? Topics

I’ve just heard a sample of the track F8 - I am most definatly going to get the album. And I must agree to my T? loving friend, the cover is very much like Pleasure Death (though I don’t think it’ll make a good tattoo though).

Re: Where have you seen T? live? in General Therapy? Topics

I’ve seen T? five times. I forget the dates but can remember the months and years.

11/94 - Cardiff Astoria
8/95 - Donington, Escape from the Studio (with Metallica)
10/95 - Newport Centre
10/98 - Aberystwyth Uni
7/00 - Singleton Park Swansea (Motorhead headlining)

Re: New T? double A-side? in General Therapy? Topics

A new T? single. Why…ing not? Its been a while anyway (Though i do hope that the record shops in Swansea will stock it this time. I couldn’t find Rust when it was released two years ago).

That’s because it was raining. I remember hearing it when Radio 1 did a live broadcast. They won’t do that now, would they?

Re: Half Way Up The Stairs in General Therapy? Topics

I’ve got a bootleg of Andy singing it, and its beatiful to listen too. Anyone interested should seek a copy of it (bootleg, of course) or download it. Its that good.

Well done, you’ve done yourself proud.

Re: UK dates… anymore?? in Therapy? Live

How about Swansea! They last played there five years ago in Singleton park and about 4 thousend were there out of a possible 15 thousend. They went down well, better Motorhead, who were headlining.

Think about this lads!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Your First Album? in Chit-Chat

First album that I bought for myself (rather than bought for me) was Queen II by Queen. The album is now scratched to death, but its a good album. I was eleven years old and was Queen mad - till a year later when I got into Def Leppard (I know, I should hang my head in shame) and Iron Maiden (see, things did improve).

If its any help, I went to a Catholic school myself and it felt like I was being told what to believe. As a result, I don’t have much respect for the church. Sorry to see John Paul II go though.

Re: as today is the 11th anniversary of kurt cobain’s death in Chit-Chat

I remember the day that day well. MTV had Phil Collins on all weekend and they had newsflashes every hours. Oddly enoug, I was playing T?’s Troublegum album. Iwas numb when they said that he died from a gun shot wound, a few days before.

Re: Shortsharpshock or Face the strange in General Therapy? Topics

ShprtSharpShock, as it was my first T? purchase and had Screamager on it.

Re: Our Cooper in General Therapy? Topics

Remember this though, Neil’s drumming is very similier to Fyfe’s. Dave was great in his day but his thrash drumming is a little dated now, not that I’m saying its bad.

Re: Six mile water, sister, wall of mouths?? in General Therapy? Topics

Friends, this is an interesting topic. Since the Suicide Pact album didn’t contain any lyrics, I just had to hear the words closely. Six Mile Water is a great track, about their younger lives in Northen Ireland. As a sorry to Fyfe, as one of you mentioned, I think its kind of fitting.

I was never a massive DW fan growing up, but I did enjoy the show and I’ll tune in again.

Have you noticed on the Channel 4 site that you have to click the albums that are on THIER list, rather than our own choices?

Bastards!

Re: Let’s See a B-Sides and Rarities Comp. in General Therapy? Topics

A box set would be great. There’s stuff that I know has been released but never had the chance to get them. With a few rarities, I think this would go down well.

Re: How many albums of Therapy? you own? in General Therapy? Topics

I’ve got all the main albums, Hats off…, a bootleg that was recorded in Italy (if I remember rightly) around the time that Troublegum was released, a few singles (7 inch coloured Teethgrinder and clear Opel Mantra), the live DVD, a few complitions they were contributed too…as well as some other stuff.

Re: Channel 4 100 Greatest Albums in General Therapy? Topics

I’ve put down Troublegum, no doubt the rest of you have. I’ve also mentioned Reign in Blood by Slayer and Document by REM.

But you know, its the same old shit everytime cause Channel 4 are running out of ideas.

Anyone agree?

- The Crow (thanks to a post on this messageboards, didn’t expect this film would be good, just watched it to find the Therapy? poster)
- Lost Highway
- The Assasination of Richard Nixon
- The Terminal
- De zaak Alzheimer (I’m affraid you won’t find it over there, so you’ll have to wait for the remake, which will be called ‘the alzheimer case’, IF that one is as good as the original version of course…)
can’t think of anything else for the moment.

There’s a brief scene in Airheads where T?’s Nurse poster is hanging on the wall. The Crow is a great film, but don’t remember seeing a T? poster there though.

Re: I got Babyteeth & Pleasure Death on ebay for £4.99! in General Therapy? Topics

I bought those albums, wha’, almost twelve years ago. Shit, I’m starting to show my age now. They’re still great albums, though Pleasure Death, in my opinion, is the better of the two.
