Re: Happy with the long distance single..!! SO play it!! :o) in General Therapy? Topics

Long Distance IS the best track on NANE. Just hope the British stations will pick up on it.

Well said. WGA was (well, still is) a top album.

What, no ‘Its The End Of The World As We Know It’?

I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THAT. SORRY!

Re: Your Fave unknown band? in Other Bands & Artists

I’d have to add Black Train Jack. They were a New York band that were around when Life of Agony and Biohazard were starting to break through.

Though BTJ were not like those bands. I read the review for their first album, No Reward, in Kerrang!in August 1993 and basically said ‘if you like Therapy? or 70’s bands like the Skids and Sham 69, you’ll like this’ and I bought the album with some money I had from doing a pointless YTS thing…and I loved it. They toured with Sick of It All in September 1993.

They released their second album, You’re Not Alone, in the spring of 1994, just as the Offspring and Green Day were starting to break big, and label mates Dog Eat Dog (they were on the Roadrunner label)released the No Fronts album. However, they split in early 1995 and to say that I was gutted would be an understatement.

I say that cause I wrote off to them, thinking nothing more of it. However, I had a reply from their drummer, saying that they’d do a headlining tour of the UK (which didn’t happen)and had a sticker of the bands symbol.

Lets say I was in heaven and I’ve still got them.

Re: Foo Fighters- In Your Honour in Other Bands & Artists

I’ve only played the album once and I quite liked it. Okay, its not a patch on The Colour And The Shape, but the rock and acustic thing worked. (Some of the softer stuff could have been done by Jeff Buckly, and that’s no bad thing).

Got a freebie ticket from The Devlins , who played support.

Not a big fan , but think they did pretty good.
‘Its the end of the world as we know it…’ goes down very well after a day of drinking beer in the sun !

That just sounds wonderful…I can see myself shouting the words out along with Mr Stipe…yes, even if I’m…ing a couple of people off. Don’t want to get drunk though.

Out of interest, how much of the old stuff did they play?

REM on Tour 05 in Other Bands & Artists

Title: REM on Tour 05

Roll on Sunday July 10th, 2005, when I’ll be going to see REM in Cardiff. I know that touring Europe at the moment and doing Live 8, but I’m really looking forward to it.

Alright, Around The Sun wasn’t up to much (though it did have its moments)but is anyone going to see them.

By the way, my fave REM albums are Reckoning and Life’s Rich Pagent. What’s yours?

Re: Guilty pleasure movies in Chit-Chat

I’ve got two Transformers box sets. I didn’t pay them, I won them through a competition through the Big Issue. I do intend of buying the movie and a few other boxsets when shops realize that no one is going to pay thirty odd quid for a couple of cartoons, no matter how good they are.

Wha’ you mean, me and Hooch? Look, that Tom Hanks film with that large mutt was okay at the time and I was never fussed on that alcoholic lemonade.

Thanks for agreeing on Transformers, by the way.

SHIT - IF ONLY BBC2 Wales had the same. Then again, its a regional thing.

But what jammy bastards you lot are, hey?

Re: Best AC/DC Album? in Other Bands & Artists

Its a tie between Highway to Hell and Back In Black, but BIB does it for me.

And I’ve yet to start getting those reissues.

Thank you, thank you, thank you…I’m overwelmed that some people here had good taste as kids.

Re: Guilty pleasure movies in Chit-Chat

I have a soft spot for Lost Boys - a true 80’s classic. Oh, I also have a thing about Transformers and Gummi Bears cartoons.

Am I that weird or just normal like everyone else on WoM?

Re: Therapy dvd help anyone??? in General Therapy? Topics

Another T? DVD is needed. Headbangers Ball is dead and its never going to return (sniff, sniff, pass the tissues). A DVD like the Iron Maiden story about T? is what we need.

Anyone agree, with the missing videos and some other cool stuff that’s been denied us?

Go on, I KNOW U want it!

Re: Rock You Monkeys Video! in General Therapy? Topics

Shit, why is it whenever I have Scuzz on, its always the shittiest bands on (and I know that Scuzz is a good channel)but T? on TV is always a treat and this vid sounds great.

Of course, we’re not going to see it on MTV2 now, are we?

Re: Are Therapy? your favorite band? in General Therapy? Topics

T? are one of my fave bands. along with Iron Maiden, REM and couple of lesser known bands. Of course I’m a massive fan. After all, I’ve got two tattoo’s of their art on my skin.

Re: therapy? headline Download Festival! in Therapy? Live

This is the Kerrang review at the Napster Stage, Download:

‘THERAPY?(KKKK)first played here in 1994, and they’re rewarding the faithful with a greatest hits set, the whole tent clapping along to ‘Die Laughing’, while twin show stoppers ‘Going Nowhere’ and ‘Screamager’ leave shit eating grins on the most battle-weary of faces. The Napstar Stage couldn’t have ended on a better high.’

Not a bad review, I say.

Re: therapy? headline Download Festival! in Therapy? Live

Right, I just hope Kerrang! gives them a good review, and send them back to the top.

Right, come on, who went to Donington yesterday then? Come on, some of us would like to know how our favorate band went down.

I’m waiting…

Re: Therapy in a film soundtrack? in General Therapy? Topics

Bollocks to the record company. If they can’t let the band do a little charity work, then it just shows what money grabbing bastards they are.

Re: A Fistful of Therapy? in General Therapy? Topics

Well, I agree. At least getting a track on a complation is a start.

Re: Therapy? Tribute CD?? in General Therapy? Topics

The problem I got is that I don’t own an Ipod, MP3 player or have internet at home. I’ve always prefered to have music on a disc with the artwork.

Re: Dead - Story Behind The Song in General Therapy? Topics

I think Dead was aimed at the people that went along with the ride when T? were a big name, being mates with Andy cause he had the drugs.

Then when show was over, the glory seekers didn’t want to know, now following others, living off another’s lifestyle.

I think that’s the story, but I’m sure Andy did mention the basis of this song on this site, prior to the release of NANE.

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

At the moment, I’m not listening to much. I bought two Nick Drake CDs yesterday, and they’re good. Before logging on, I was listening to Iron Maiden’s Powerslave.

At the moment, I’m working on my novel, so I’m picky when it comes to listening to music. I need to listen to stuff that would trigger the creative juices.

And yes, T? have been part of the creative process. They’re like a soundtrack to a film that’s yet to be made.

Re: 5 most embarrasing records you own in Other Bands & Artists

I admit, I’ve got some dodgy stuff in my collection. I’ve got a couple of Dog Eat Dog albums, but they were good for that time.

The first Priest album was a bit shite, and, er…I know I got rid of most of the bad stuff…ALRIGHT, I admit to owning a copy of the Crash Test Dummies song Mmm Mmm Mmm. Come on, you know the one, where the singer looked like a smarter version of Anthony Kedis from RHCP…yet I’m embarresed by it…though some of you would want my head on a stick.

Here’s another one. Before I got in Metal, I was just another kid that liked chart music, anything that was in the Top 40 - and I bought Bros’s When Will I Be Bloody Famous - AHHHHAHHHAHHARRRRRAHHHH - MY OLD MAN WOULDN’T LET ME FORGET IT. Still, I had the good sense to get rid of it when I bought Maiden’s Can I Play With Madness single, that Easter…please, don’t hate me.

Re: Therapy? Tribute CD?? in General Therapy? Topics

Fucking hell, we’re all keen on this subject. Just hope that you lot will be able to find a label that shares our enthusiaism (I know, I’ve spelt that wrong)and I’ll support it by buying it.

Re: life of agony in Other Bands & Artists

It’ll be interesting what Broken Valley has in store. I liked the three studio albums, but for me, River Runs Red still holds up as their best (no offence to those who like Soul Searching Sun, by the way).

I liked the rawness and the theme that carries through the album…I remember buying my copy. Roadrunner reissued it in a digipack with extra live tracks…oh happy memories (unlike the character on RRR).

Re: Therapy? Frustration And The American Fans in General Therapy? Topics

Don’t worry about it. I’ve been into many bands whose albums have long since been removed from British shops, yet I’m still a fan of those bands.
