Re: koRn in Other Bands & Artists

Talk about a band that were hyped to the limits. I loved the first album like I did with Troublegum, and was lucky to see them on the Kerrang! stage at Donington - a blinding set. Life is Peachy had its moments. Saw them again at Newport centre - good but not great great (though I would like to shake the hand of who ever threw a pint a Fred Durst’s head).

Follow the Leader, great, thought it was something special. Pity they never toured that album in the UK though. Issues I thought was great, but Untouceables was bollocks. Four million dollars for a shit set of songs. Clearly, the money went to their heads and those whom followed who could relate to Jonathan Davis’ lyrics, myself included, wanted nothing to do with them.

Thankfully, I don’t have any Korn tattoos. Personally, I think Head made the right choice, by jumping off a sinking ship.

Re: Verdict on Never Apologise Never Explain in General Therapy? Topics

I love the NANE album, though I do reckon the album should’ve been promoted more. It derserves a wider audience in my book.

Re: Troublegum in General Therapy? Topics

Troublegum remains T? most famous album, and rightly so. The lyrics on that album are amazing, even after all these years; I could relate to the themes running through the album.

However, apart from us fans and a couple of others, this album has been forgotten. But then again, Troublegum is a cult album and cult albums will always be picked up.

By the way, I agree with whomever said that A&M couldn’t market their way out of a paper bag in terms of promoting them in the States.

Re: SOAD- Mesmerize in Other Bands & Artists

I paid twelve ninety nine in HMV. Not bad considering. As for the album, well, I’ve played it once and ITS FUCKING NUTS. In other words, its a good album.

Re: Are Therapy? metal? in General Therapy? Topics

Well, they had the indie appeal first, then the metal press got interested, but I’d call T? a crossover band, cause they had that appeal to them.

Re: T?on 6music in General Therapy? Topics

Lets not forget, the day is to remember Ian Curtis, probably the best song writer. Reading his words is like reading poetry. Of course, he with Joy Division influenced a lot of bands of all genres.

Re: Therapy? Frustration And The American Fans in General Therapy? Topics

None of the problems have anything to do with the band. I know that their early releases were unleashed in the States, thanks to Touch & Go and A&M. Plus the fact that A&M went under, they could get Semi - Deteched released and by then, their status dropped a bit.

I recall some of the American press (Guitar World and Guitar School being two examples) had a short piece about Andy and his guitar playing, but I recall various pieces in the American press.

One thing though: have you thought of importing NANE?

Good luck in your search. There’s stuff I want to get hold of but can’t…but that’s a long story in itself.

I really hope they don’t fuck up Episode 3 like they did with 1 & 2 because the storyline has the potential to be really cool.

My favourite Stars Wars film is The Empire Strikes Back it made quite an impression on me when i first saw it,i think i was about 4 or 5 at the time and it was the first film i’d seen where the heroes didn’t win at the end.

Same here, cause it got you wanting to see the next film (Return of the Jedi, which I didn’t think was that bad cause of the Ewoks), but I saw Phnatom Menace and thought it was a bit slow. Jar Jar Binks didn’t bother me, but it lacked the magic of the trilogy that we all knew first time round.

Re: The General Election in Chit-Chat

I know this is a bit late, but from where I am (I voted Lib Dem, by the way), the BNP only had 770 votes. Not so much of a threat in Swansea after all, thank fuck.

Re: Studio Brussels Album 100 in General Therapy? Topics

At least they’re remembered overseas and not in their homeland. How fucking sad is that? Hard to believe that they beat the Doors, Joy Division and Velvet Underground though.

Re: Boy Bands in Other Bands & Artists

That’s a hard one, cause they think they’re ‘artists’ - puupets on a string is the best way to describe them.

Re: life of agony in Other Bands & Artists

Thing is though, they probably won’t be as good when they came out with River Runs Red.

God, wasn’t that a classic album.

Re: Smug Bastards in Chit-Chat

Anyone from the BNP

I knew I had forgotten some people along the way. They had one canidate on my voting slip. Just one word to describe them. Well, two, okay three: FUCKING NAZI BASTARDS.

fatboy those cover were on the Gimmie Back My Brain single but yeah i thought some of those covers were much better than Tango Romeo and Alrite. The Japanese Shameless had Denim Demon and Big Time which were good covers as well.

Sorry, I made a mistake, but that only shows I’m human.

Re: Smug Bastards in Chit-Chat

Christ, where I start. Lets see now:

Posh and fucking Becks
Vernon (sorry, VERMIN) Kaye
George Bush Snr and his jackass son
Lee from Blue
Simon Cowell
Some of the reviewers on Newsnight Review (but not Mark Lawson)
Jeremy Paxman
Dani Filth
…fuck, who else…
The Gallaghers (I might have spelt that wrong, but bollocks to it)…
Richard and Judy
Tony Blair (like I really needed to put that down)
…and to top it off, some of the bastards on the gay scene. Some can be so big headed, they’ve got their heads up their arses. They also like to put people down, which is why I’ve mentioned them here.

Re: damaged brixton 94 in General Therapy? Topics

That’s a great gig, though I never did tape it. Its just a shame that MTV won’t show that again…oh sorry, they’re to busy kissing J-Lo’s arse, watch Bam make a complete twat of himself (not forgetting that its more bullying now than they are pranks) and that celeBRATTY show Cribs. ‘Yeah, man, I bought this house from your money but your not coming in, ya hear?’

Re: All of them Good in General Therapy? Topics

Have any of you heard 60 Watt Bulb, from the Church of Noise B-Side? What a track. I must say though, some of the B-sides from the Infernal Love era are a bit patchy and were obviously B - Side fodder (sorry).

Also, the re-recorded version of Skyward, that was on the blue vinyl version of Driving, Crying Only is class.

No wonder we need a T? box set.

Re: Shameless Album in General Therapy? Topics

I must confess, Shameless isn’t my fave T? album either, but that’s not yo say its bad. Its got a couple of good tracks on it, but its not an album that I play regularly.

Personally, I prefer the tracks that they did for the I Am The Money single - the Black Flag and Abba covers are really good and its a bit of a gutter that those tracks are not around at the moment.

Re: T? in kerrang in General Therapy? Topics

NME is shit. They’re going down the shitter pretty quick. Give it a few months and they’ll piss on Bloc Party, Razorlight and the like, just like they did with T? Give it time and the rag will end up like the Melody Maker - dust.

That was a good, if brief, interview. But that secret is going to play on my mind now. Aye, secrets; not a good thing.

You should be alright - I’m 6ft 1 and twenty stone.

Re: F8 in General Therapy? Topics

But what do you think of the album, that’s the main thing. I though the album was great. F8 was good, but I thought Deadman (with Colin from Hundred Reasons), Onward Christain Soldiers (Jeff Walker from Carcass)were the main highlights for me.

By the way, there’s a bonus section after the album - the whole album plays itself backwards - fast. And it is mental. Now that is what I call MENACE.

Re: The Pope in Chit-Chat

Great, we’ve got an ex-Nazi for a Pope. Same as John Paul II, he probably hates me already as I am gay. But then again, at the end of the day, the Catholic church is only killing itself. I’m sure God would rather have us to be normal humna beings, not talked down to like filth, or whatever.

Re: Therapy? mentioned on the QOTSA board in General Therapy? Topics

Well, according to Kerrang! (I should really stop buying this mag) thought the new album was crap, so there’s a bit of a backlash going on there, even if they do go on kissing their arses.

But bollocks what others think. QOTSA are popular cause their American and its no longer cool to be supporting a cult Irish three piece. Again, BOLLOCKS!

Shit, I think I’ve over done it there.

Re: What song or moment first got you into therapy? in General Therapy? Topics

The track that got me into T? was Screamager. I heard Teethgrinder, though it wasn’t till MTV played Screamager and Radio 1 playing it (when it charted) that I really got into them…er, I thought I had already done this one…but then again, I might be wrong.

Anyway, once I heard them and bought the ShortSharpShock EP and the Nurse album…and I’ve never looked back.

Re: New Single Poll…!! in General Therapy? Topics

Long Distance would make a great single. Also, with the right breaks, it might bring some new fans to the Church of Noise. The best time to release it is when they play Download this year.

Re: Knives (kiddies version) in General Therapy? Topics

A kiddies version of Knives? The only one I can think of is a Radio 1 Rock version around 1994, where some of the words had to be changed, as the set was broadcasted during a Sunday afternoon.

Hope this helps.
