Re: Scandinavian tour in Therapy? Live
They’re coming to Stockholm and I won’t be able to go!!! :-(
It’s the first time in AGES I get to go to a conference with my job, and it’s the exactly the same days!!! (In Spain)
It’s a bit childish I know, but I’m actually crying as I write this. Luckily, I’m alone in my office…
I know I can travel somewhere and see them, but all my friends will watch them in Sthlm, so it won’t be the same thing.
I had been waiting SO LONG for this…

Re: Scandinavian tour in Therapy? Live
WHY OH WHY did they send out an e-mail about the Scandinavian tour without saying the dates????? I’m going to get an ulcer before I get to know which date they’re coming to Stockholm!!!!!! I’m going to be away April 10-14, so it that’s when they’re going to be here, I won’t be able to see them!!!! Argh!!!!
They have to let us know soon!

Re: eurgh in Chit-Chat
I think that Hellbelly is on the right track. Go to the library or school and study there a couple of hours every day. That’s the only ting that works. There’s just too much distraction at home.

Re: antipornguy in Chit-Chat
Yes, there are a lot of sick people out there…
I almost couldn’t read all of it…
The ‘Fag Facts’ were just too much!!!!
Here’s another sick link from Americans for Purity. My sister claims it’s not for real, but unfortunately I don’t belive her.

Re: slane 2001 in Chit-Chat
I’ve seen RHCP live, and they were great, but I was still a bit dissapointed, because it was such a cold day (late summer) so they didn’t take their clothes off! I had been hoping for better weather, so I could have seen them perform wearing only a sock :-)

I envy you… I have the same birthday as Tomas Quick, the most dangerous and vicious murderer in Swedish history AND the Tjernobyl nuclear plant accident… :-)

Re: Movies in Chit-Chat
Hey, Brendon! You definietly have to see ‘Wellcome to the Dollhouse’. It’s great, (but sort of terrible at the same time).
I actually like it much more than Happiness.

Re: what do you think the WORST 3 T? songs are? in General Therapy? Topics
Why is everyone picking on Epilepsy??? It’s one of my favourites.
I’m gonna have to do some revision in my ‘worst’-list. After listening a bit more to ‘Safe’, I realised that it wasn’t so bad after all. And after listening a bit more to ‘Lunacy Booth’, I’ve realised that this song should definietly be on my worst list.

Re: Sex in Chit-Chat
But women DO have a vulgar sense of humour, (which always shows when there are no guys around.)

Re: Sex in Chit-Chat
Barbie, I just meant that perhaps women that have a sense of humour aren’t perhaps encouraged to explore it in the same way than a man would be, and that’s why there aren’t as many famous funny women as there are men (there are some around though, in Sweden we have some really good stand up comedians. And French & Saunders ARE funny, especially the ‘at the movies’ specials). And for attractiveness: I think that a lot of men find a good sense of humour attractive, but there are some men who don’t like it when a woman is better than them at anything, they don’t want to be together with an equal, they actually do want a girl that wiggles her eyelashes and admires every step he takes.

Re: Sex in Chit-Chat
I’m tired of all that talk about ‘men are like this’ and ‘women are like that’. I think that the importance of our biological sex, (with hormones etc) in relation to our behavior is way overrated. If you look around you, women and men can do the same thing (except reproduction that is). And that Henry Rollins is femininie is proof in itself :-)
Personally I think that the lack of women comedians are mainly due to the fact that not a lot of women get the chance to be funny (although there are a lot of funny women, like French & Saunders for instance) and that it’s not concidered particulary feminine and attractive for a woman to be humouristic.

Re: Top-10 albums of all time in Chit-Chat
Thanks Opalmantra for your suggestions. But it seems as if it’s no longer possible to order the live album.

Re: Top-10 albums of all time in Chit-Chat
Opalmantra: Yes, I think Eels are the best (ooops! Maybe I should go to a Eels message board instead :-)
I might check that livealbum out, but I was a bit dissapointed at Daisies of the Galaxy, so maybe I’ll perhaps try to get hold of the older stuff, E:s solo albums that he did before Eels.

Re: Top-10 albums of all time in Chit-Chat
I’ll try to stick to ten albums, even though it’s hard…
I’m in a Placebo period right now, so I don’t know if Black Market Music will still be on the list in half a year, it’s just that I listen to it all the time at the moment.
It’s pretty hard with groups with many good albums, like Crowded House, Therapy and Del Amitri to pick which albums that should be on the list.
1) EELS Beautiful Freak
2) RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Rage against the machine
3) CROWDED HOUSE Temple of low men
4) EELS Electro Shock Blues
5) DEL AMITRI Waking Hours
6) THERAPY? Troublegum
7) TIM FINN Tim Finn
8) THERAPY? Infernal Love
9) JELLYFISH Bellybottom
10)PLACEBO Black Market Music

Don’t you just love the official T? mailing list in General Therapy? Topics
Title: Don’t you just love the official T? mailing list
I was feelin’ a bit down on January 2:nd when I had to go back to work after X-mas, but when I checked my e-mail and saw that I had gotten a X-mas greeting from Therapy?, it all felt a little bit better :-)
I think it’s pretty nice to get an e-mail from them once a month or so. And this autumn you even got a nice picture of Michael doing the devil-sign.
Do you also feel as if the T?-members are your old pals, even though you don’t know them? I feel that way, and if they do a bad song I just overlook that, in the same way you would if a couple of your friends had a band.

Re: The most disappointing album. in General Therapy? Topics
But don’t you think it’s all got to do with which album you heard first? Infernal Love is the album that got me started on T?, so to me it’s one of their best.

Re: Help me out here! in General Therapy? Topics
Well, I don’t agree with Barbie, that a sad song is easier to write. It must be a lot easier to write ‘life is a flower, tralala’ than to really give away what you’re thinking.

Re: So what’s everyone doing for New Years? in Chit-Chat
I’m not doing anything special this year. After all that fuzz last year with the new millenium and everything, it’s nice that this year is just an ordinary New Year. Last year was so hysteric, and everyone was so worked up about what they were going to do and what party to go to. I was fed up with the word ‘millenium’ before the new one had even started!
So this year I’m not planning anything ahead. In worst case I’ll just rent Police Academy 13 and watch by myself. :-)

Re: Help me out here! in General Therapy? Topics
Your girlfriend’s wrong!
I think that Therapy’s music actually is uplifting. If I’m really down it definelty doesn’t help to listen to ‘happy’ music with nonsens lycrics. I for one feel much better when i listen to Therapy?:s lyrics for instance, because sometimes they sing exactly how I feel, and it really helps to know that someone else has felt the same way as you do.

Re: what do you think the WORST 3 T? songs are? in General Therapy? Topics
Interesting how people’s opinions can differ so much!
‘Don’t expect roses’ is listen under both the worst and the beast thread.
And it seems that many people don’t like ‘30 seconds’, which I listed as one of my top three favourites! (it’s pretty fun to hum as you wait for the subway…)
The reason that Diane is one of my worst T?-song, is that it was the first song I ever heard with T? and I didn’t like it and that’s why I didn’t bother giving them a second chance until recently. It’s not even a year since I bought my first T?-album!

Re: Hello Everyone in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Well, frankly I still don’t see how making fun of someones looks is funny, since this sort of thing happens all the time in real life, especially to women. It is especially NOT funny with Mel C, since she has a disease, bullemia. Perhaps it was all the negative comments in the media about her looks that made here ill. Of course I knew that your text wasn’t meant to be taken seriously, but even in that context i found it to be out of line.
But I’m glad to see that you agree with me about the problem of female celebs getting judged by their looks and all that. Your apology is accepted!

Re: Hello Everyone in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Well, Buzzweasel, I’ve just been reading your ramblings about Mel C on your site, and it really pissed me off. Reason: 99% of your rambling about her is about her looks! First of all: she’s not overweight, she’s just not as skinny as the rest of the women you see on MTV. But even if she were overweight, who cares? That’s completely besides the point! And so what if she’s got many lesbian fans? Is that some kind of proof that she’s bad? Have you got some sort of problems with homosexuals, or what?
Now it’s sounds as if I’m a big fan of Mel C. I’m not. Had your critisism been about her music I wouldn’t be writing this. I probably hate Britney, A 1, Steps etc just as much as you do. But one thing I really hate with the plastic teen-pop industry is the fixation on how the artists look. Another thing I that annoys me is that women musicians often get judged by their looks, and men get respected for their music irrespective of their looks. I’m pretty sure that Andy’s body mass index is much higher than Mel C’s, but you haven’t mentioned anything about that on your homepage!
If you judge an artist from his/her looks and not from the music, you’re not much better than those 12-year old girls who have pictures of BSB over their bed because they’re ‘soooooo cute.’

Re: Top 10’s suck - Top 1 in General Therapy? Topics
Eels is my favourite band besides T?. (I love them both equally, I can’t choose one over the other).
Are there any more Eels-fans here? I’d think that T? and Eels would attract the same fans, because even though they don’t sound the same, many of their lyrics are basically about the same things.

The only T? songs I don’t particulary like are Safe (I don’t like the chorus) and Diane.

Re: what do you think the best 3 T? song are? in General Therapy? Topics
My top three songs are:
1) Straight Life
2) Die Laughing
3) 30 seconds
Hurray! Straight Life seems to be one of the most popular songs here! Oh, how I love that song! (I’m pretty sure my neighbours hate it though).

Re: Diane in General Therapy? Topics
The reason I’m not so fond of Diane is that it was the first song I ever heard with T? (they played it quite a lot on the radio and TV), and since I didn’t like it, I didn’t bother to find out anything more about them. I took me three years before I gave them a second chance!
