the mission on the 21st May at De Boerderij, Zoetermeer NL and last saturday we went to a local festival where a great rockabilly band (the alley cats) from our home town put up a good show.

My dear friend fatboy, you’ve got a world to gain and it looks like you’re doing better than when you started this thread. That means you have courage. I respect you for that. I recognise your problems because someone very close to me deals with more or less the same ones.

I can only wish you strength and courage to go on with your life. If you ever feel the need to have chat, just drop me a line. I’m honest.

how nostalgic! the (early) eighties were great (for me.) I remember attending a U2 gig in Het Paard in The Hague in 1980 and Killing Joke at the same venue a few months later; they played so loud, it still hurts.
gigs were cheap in those days. we could go to the UK Subs for 2.5 guilders.

the first half of the eighties were better than the second half, musically speaking. there are exceptions off course like the mission, metallica and therapy?, but they’re not really eighties’ bands.

Mrs Balcony and I watched the series and we enjoyed it a lot. Fortunately we can watch a lot of good quality British drama on Dutch and Belgian tv, and BBC 1 and 2.

no dear chap, the bass was and wil never be gone. i lost the bass-thread at the WOM, if that’s what you mean. but i still play my beautifull red bass in my band. no frontiers for me. good to talk to u again

if you feel bad, you have a problem. what does it matter then that other people are dying from starvation. what can you do about it? i say, it is not my problem right now. i deal with that later when i’m feeling all right again.

due to my absence for a lot of months, i probably should post this thread in the New Members section. i hope you don’t mind i didn’t. my absence wasn’t lack of interest or anything like that.

the past few months i was too much occupied with some personal (psychic) problems and i felt no need to share that with you. let’s say i’m back again, well or not :) anyway, a belated thank you to marja, misanthropologist, punkwak and Evilbeast for remembering my birthday. it feels good to be back again.

In my case that would be five-string, but let’s not waste time on the number of strings on a bass. Why are bassists in your opinion unreliable? Do you have a problem with a specific bass player or perhaps with more, and would you like to share it with us? Open your heart and let it out;)
