i can’t give you one or two examples , just hear the special efx on all the albums - those are keyboards!!!
when i say keyboard, i don’t mean piano (though you have to admit you would love to hear SAFE live, right?) or sound like the organ (80’s / europe), i’m talking about lots of efx on the background, cello, more Faith No More background kind of sound the would make the picture a whole, not as the main thing - that would ofcorse be the guitar, but i think a keyboard would add more “colour”

well,
as for the relation of keyboards and rock bands i think you guys are wrong - i know lots of heavy metal / rock / punk band that use keyboars and it sounds and looks great.
i mean, if you liked martin playing cello on alost every song (i’m talking 1995-1998) than you should also like the keyboard that can do cello and many other things as well.
and besides, i’m not so sure how many of you aware to the fact that almost all t? songs the were recorded in the studios (including recent albums) with keyboards (not only - bass-drums-guitars)

just a thought that has crossed my mind lately:
after hearing t? live after martin’s departure, i can feel that something’s missing - but i’m not sure if it’s another guitar / cello but maybe a keyboard.
ever thought how t? could’ve sound with a keyboard player?

well, that and the fact that havent’t posted a message in years… :p
and no, i’m not bold yet (but who knows, time will tell)…
i’m only 27 so i have a few more years before the begining of the end starts…
