Re: Montivilliers in Therapy? Live
Hi,
Annoyingly, I missed the first few- came in during Screamager (late and clueless cabbie!). I can never remember set lists. It looks broadly similar but not as long as the one posted from Strasbourg - shorter encore for sure.
The atmosphere was great; everyone happy and having a good time. It was in a large sports hall which looked like it would have held more than 2k people so there was lots of room to dance and generally bounce about down the front. The venue was probably a bit big really and had no bar - another reason for delay after getting a text about that and so trying to source booze in a ghost town!
Was a bit knackered after jumping about through two sets.
I mainly follow New Model Army and I would say that most of the people down the front dancing to both bands were New Model Army regulars but also quite a few others getting involved so probably some Therapy? regulars too but I wouldn’t recognise them. Certainly a car load of mad French lads who we’d met earlier.
I wasn’t planning to go to this until the AP event was cancelled (had tickets for that) but I’m glad I did as it was a great weekend.
I’d love to see both bands on the same bill again. I don’t see Therapy? as much as I would like to as I use up a lot of leave and cash on New Model Army tours but I am definitely going to do more Therapy? gigs from now on. I think the last time I saw them was about 3 years ago which is crap really!
cheers

Montivilliers in Therapy? Live
Title: Montivilliers
Therapy? were excellent on Saturday and great to see them on the same bill as New Model Army (after the Ally Pally non event).
Great trip all round. First time I’d seen Therapy? for a couple of years - must make more of an effort more regularly!
all the best.

Re: Preston Mill gig in Therapy? Live
I was there. Good gig despite a fairly low key/thin crowd.
There were big gaps down the front at the start with most people happy to stand further back. Couldn’t get any moshing going during the first couple of songs and Andy seemed to have to work hard at getting the crowd going. However after that it really picked up and there were a small but enthusiastic group of us that were having a good old bounce about down the front. Got a bit of blood on my t-shirt but thankfully not mine! Am still aching today and getting too old for it really but would much rather be down the front than standing further back.
Although I always get their albums, I’m not a regular Therapy gig goer and last time I saw them was at Preston Uni when Andy had flu. I have seen them at the Mill donkeys years ago and also a few times since in Manchester.
Gigs at the Mill always seem to be loud and do my ears in for days. Last time they were at the mill they were supported by a group that just hit bits of scrap metal but were very loud!!
Not posted here before but thought I would check in after going to the gig and will be looking out for them again in the north west.
