Re: Screamager in General Therapy? Topics
they print it because it sells their magazine which provides advertising space which they sell to companies and make grand amounts of money.
unfortunately it’s business. thank god for indie ‘zines.

Re: Vocals on NANE in General Therapy? Topics
don’t worry, you’re just the unfortunate and unknowing victim of being accustomed to auto-tuned vocals. Many people are these days and when they hear something real, especially live performances, and records where everything isn’t fixed and quantized to perfection they find it irritating. It’s a horrible condition but you can do a few things to remedy this! Scream at artists to record on to 2” tape, and to throw their computers out the window. Computers have brought us many bonuses, but they’ve brought us pop stars who can’t sing a damn note (Ashlee Simpson, etc..) My favourite albums are those with as many natural circumstances as possible (noise, feedback, off notes) while still packing excellent songs.

Re: Therapy? Tribute CD?? in General Therapy? Topics
i’m going in to the studio in january/february with a few projects, i’d love to contribute with studio quality material. just a decision of which track to do. A version of Bad Mother that uses guitars instead of cellos is on my list of things to do one day.

Re: Newcastle in Therapy? Live
hell I grew up in Newcastle and now I’m in Vancouver, BC.. at least you lot have the option of a one hour trip to a city where T? is playing! For me it’s at least an 8 hour flight.

Re: Help me pick a rig in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
stay with the 4x12, 15’s sound muddy and shite for most guitar rigs. with the right amp head you can get huge lows with a 4x12 (see; Fu Manchu, Black Sabbath, etc..)

irc chat .. i mean hell there’s a bot there.. in General Therapy? Topics
Title: irc chat .. i mean hell there’s a bot there..
irc://irc.quakenet.org:6667/therapy?
you’ll need an IRC client like mIRC (http://www.mirc.co.uk/get.html) to access.. though there’s a bot there that introduces itself as;
-L- [#therapy?] CHANNEL — If You Are Looking For Trouble You Can Find Me On The Internet Motherfucker!!
Anyone know anything about this? I stumbled across it on a network that has #helmet (Helmet’s irc channel)..

Re: Guitars - Need Your Help! in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
I’ve got an Epiphone Les Paul Custom w/EMG dual humbucking pickups in it. Very rich trebly tone, the guitar is heavy as hell we think it’s made of ash perhaps.
If you buy the epiphone -definately- replace the pickups. They’re not bad guitars but the electronics leave a lot to be desired.
Only after browsing ebay.co.uk have I realised how expensive gear is back home, here I just picked up an ‘03 Gibson SG Special (natural cherry finish) for $910 Canadian (£380 GBP) maybe I should broker guitar purchases over here :P

Re: How old are Therapy? fans???? in General Therapy? Topics
23, picked up troublegum three/four years ago because Page Hamilton was on it. Then I proceeded to buy every therapy? album. You know how cool it is to stumble across a band with so many great albums? I grew up listening to Faith No More and got amazing album after amazing album, now I find myself forking out coin for all the T? rarities. Andy also inspired me to go and buy an SG to add to my arsenal of instruments.

Re: New Merchandise in General Therapy? Topics
i’m hoping for any mens shirts in medium, over in north american bands seem to only have L and XL at shows (I lucked out and bought a Ministry hooded sweatshirt with embroidered logo at their show a few days ago in medium). I’m crossing my fingers Therapy? does the Primus thing and re-issues a large amount of their merch for online purchase only. Come on lads it’s a good source of income for those who always wanted shirts from previous albums but just hopped on board a few years back. :)

Re: New Therapy? Album leaked in General Therapy? Topics
the album is absolutely solid, production is excellent (as much as one can tell from mp3) hearing the 3 tracks from online breath in better quality was awesome! gritty, raw, stripped down balls to the wall (some scissorfight influence on one track’s guitar riff at least that’s what i thought) Therapy? delivers again with another album that sounds very different from the others.
I’d love to see Die Like A Motherfucker on a soundtrack to some horrid action film just for the exposures sake, but I don’t think any major hollywood studio has the balls.
It’s hard to tell people that hear the album they’ll have to order it online from the UK.

Re: Shameless - whats wrong with it?!? in General Therapy? Topics
Jack Endinos production is weird to get used to but it really captured the band at a different angle, some of the songs were challenging (as were those on Infernal Love) though after the album grew on me I couldn’t put it down.

Re: US release date? in General Therapy? Topics
you have to remember that in the ever sterile radio market of the US/Canada there’s no chance in hell a band from Europe will get radio play unless they have an absolutely horrid radio single that is nice and safe to insert into the rotation with everyone else. From a business point of view cracking the North American market is silly and pointless.
Bands selling lots of records over here (at least in Canada right now) The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Avril Lavigne, etc.. there’s not a heavy band in the charts.
Helmet really should have taken Therapy? across the states on the upcoming tour, Totimoshi (the opening act for Helmet) is an unsigned .. and.. definately not of my taste band (they have horrid quality mp3s on their website..)

Re: US release date? in General Therapy? Topics
I work at a music retail store in Vancouver, BC, Canada and it hasn’t entered out catalogue (or import catalogue) yet. We usually see albums show up a few weeks before release. I’ll talk to our sales reps when they come in see if I can gather any info.

Hope to not step into any ‘Fettnäpfchen’ here, but they do sound very rough. Is there still going to be any mastering done on them? Sound is a little rough and demo like.
It’s in real audio format of course they’ll sound rough. Nothing ruins cymbals, and any mixing in general like audio compression.

Re: N. A. N. E. Release dates in General Therapy? Topics
no US/Canadian release date as of yet (sigh).
They should really pair up with Helmet for Helmet’s US tour that was just delayed. (Starting in October).
