Re: Martin leaves Therapy? a 3 piece in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Martin…

Hey all,

I, like everyone, was enormously saddened to hear the news about Martin leaving. Martin’s a close mate of mine - a tremendously nice man, a fantastic musician (whose talents were only hinted at in T?), always made time for the fans (even the more insane among us ;-), and a generally wonderful addition to the band. He filled out T?’s sound enormously.

It’s up to Martin himself to set the record straight about why he left the band.

But it’s too bad, as I, for one, feel that for various reasons including Martin’s leaving, that my own 13-year odyssey with the boys is pretty much winding down. It’s a shame. At more than one point in our travels, I considered Michael and Andy to be mates of mine. And I’ll still say that they’re among the friendliest people on earth.

Still, people and relationships change, don’t they? And I think that’s all anyone really needs to know when wondering about what happened.

In the meantime, I’m well excited about what cool stuff the future holds for Martin musically! And I’ll do my best to keep everyone posted about it all - if Martin doesn’t do it himself!
xM

Re: Pictures and stories in General Therapy? Topics

I’ve got zillions of amazing memories—I’ve known the guys for eight years—but one of the most funny experiences I’ve had Andy actually spoke about in an article in Metal Hammer. It was 1996, Toronto, and they’d parked their tour bus outside the small venue (as you do). After the show, we were all getting a bit wankered and suddenly, one of the crew turned on a strobe light inside the bus, and we pull the curtains closed, and there are, like 20 people on board. We cranked up the stereo (first time I heard ‘Juanita’ by Underworld, I remember), and turned the bus into a disco! It was heaving side to side, cos everyone was dancing…we stayed there for hours partying! Great fun.

Re: Support bands in Your Feedback & Suggestions

T? in Toronto in 1996 (I think) at Lee’s Palace had Girls Vs. Boys opening, plus this wicked, noisy band from NYC called Skeleton Key. Oh, and my mate’s former band, Knockout Pill (a light pop outfit), were also offered a spot at one free show several back. That was cool, cos we were all friends, so Michael and Andy came to offer support check them out.
