Way overdue that Canadian gig.
Just imagine , a bill with Therapy? and support by Anvil , demigods of metal ! Hell Yeah.
Throw in The Tragically Hip too and we’re onto a winner.
Any promoters in the Vancouver area to throw a little line out ?
Way, waaaaaaaaaaay overdue. Ha ha, T? with Anvil and the Hip? I mean, sure, I’d go to see T? anyway, but I’d probably go early just to see that horrible mess of openers - wonder how well the fans of each band would mix.
Yes, yes, everyone is pissing themselves over Anvil ‘cos of this new documentary, but truth be told, they weren’t ever really THAT good to begin with. Didn’t the interviews with Lemmy & Lars (in the documentary) strike anyone else as a little… forced? Every time I hear the ‘demi-gods of metal’ tag, I giggle. I met the Lips and Robb at the premiere here, and hey, nice enough dudes, but I think they’re taking themselves a little too seriously these days.
As for the Hip - so, they DO have fans elsewhere in the world besides Canada? I always thought they were only big here because Canadians appear to be the only people in the world who celebrate mediocrity. Sorry, just my opinion. Never got the Hip, always thought they sounded like a bar band who made it big in Canada. Go figure.
For my money, T? should tour with Turbonegro. That would be -as the kids say- the shit.

Nice. T? played here once in 1994; three times in 1996. None since.
(Of course, I didn’t live here THEN.)

Surely it can’t be all that awful on your fair island - or has my thread been hijacked by a piss-take mob?

Fine, fine. Mock the whingey, bitter, lone Canadian T? fan as you pick-and-choose which five T? gigs to see within an hours’ train ride from your home. Must be nice to live in a country the size of a postage-stamp, with a rail system that actually works. Meanwhile, here in igloo country, a decent gig is 4 days’ journey away by sled dog.

I just looked up the T? 2001 tour diary - it was all east coast US dates. I don’t think they’ve ever played out here. Loooooooooong overdue.
Just for shits’n’giggles - does anyone know where I can find T? tour-date archives going back into the ’90s?

Duly noted, mrs. h. Upon reflection, the original post does come across a tad whingey. That said, Greenland sounds a fair compromise.
I can’t blame T? for ignoring North America, as it sounds like it’s a justifiably bitter pill in their camp. I’ve been a die-hard fan since ‘94, and it’s frustrating for me as a fan, that nobody else around seems to have heard of them, or *get* how brilliant a band they are, especially when they -and this is rarity among bands- improve with every release.
Even more frustrating to realize that it’s unlikely I’ll ever see them live unless I come across the pond myself. But you can make damn sure that when I finally do schedule a trip to ol’ Blighty, I’ll be sure that T? is on tour first.
