Re: Madonna Covers Pantera in Other Bands & Artists
I notice she played the easiest fucking Pantera riff… one step up from smoke on the water - would have been impressed if she had played the next bit though

Happy Birthday Dan - and everyone else I missed, hope you had good ones (and were spared the bumming that Dan seems to have been given)

Did you know that Hebden Bridge has a higher %ge of lesbians per head of population than anywhere else in the UK. Little known fact.
It doesn’t surprise me - these are however, not the porn star type lesbians made famous by those ‘arty’ european style dvds, but the skinhead, boiler suit & doc martin clad, ‘bulldog-licking-sour-piss-off-a-thistle’ style ladylovers…

Re: Guilty Pleasures in Chit-Chat
Most of the stuff on here I wouldn’t class as guilty pleasure - Massive Attack, Bjork, Airheads, Flight of the Navigator etc… all fantastic.
Liberty X & Savage Garden on the other hand - Wow Buffalo-boy - you really got the hang of it ;)

Re: the wildhearts in Other Bands & Artists
To be fair - the break in the weather stuff was ok (it is basically just the songs from the failed singles club).
Silverginger5 was ok as was some of the stuff off Valor… but when you hold it up against the Wildhearts stuff its sub par.
I can’t understand how it can go soooo wrong though when he is the primary (at times sole) songwriter in the WHs

With teeth(ing issues)…

Re: the wildhearts in Other Bands & Artists
I think my biggest problem is that the album is just that - ginger covering many different styles - just for the sake of it.
And I don’t think he does many of them particularly well - I am also sick of hearing songs about his wife \ ex wife \ divorce…

It seemed to me like he had watched the Zeitgeist documentary and was just rehashing what was said, as if he had come up with it himself.
