When you can hear to distinct guitar tracks in the left & right channel it sounds ok - If you listen to Rise for example… the guitars in the verse sound fine - but as soon as the main riff kicks in so does that horrible sound and it sounds really flat… the left and right effect seems to go off or is really minimised…

I like the low fi sound of pleasure death and babyteeth too - so its not just that I like the ‘big production’ sound (Nurse sounds like shit though)

I like the sound of the guitars on Opal Mantra - that is a really nice sound!

Any… OCFA had a decent guitar sound (i’m not talking production as a whole - I know they drown out the drums…) & Infernal Love and Troublegum are the stand out ones for me.

It sounds like there is too much ‘mid’ in the guitars in NANE or they are using some shitty old distortion pedal or something… I just dont like the actual sound of the guitar on it.

This so called life is a stand out track for poor guitar sound - I guess its just personal taste… but it sounds to me like the speaker is ripped on the guitar amp

I hate the sound of the guitars on that album. Good songs but terrible production.

Fish from Marillion used to be on Roadrunner at the same time as bands like Sepultura - means fuck all at the end of the day… If the band thought that the record company was going to influence / shape the sound of the new record, I very much doubt they would have signed on the proverbial dotted…

If you’ve nothing to do this aft maybe you could plot ‘time between albums in days’ against ‘number of songs on album’ on some sort of graph to give us some sort of average… ;)
