Re: Nick Cave in Other Bands & Artists

I used to have their video collection on VHS. Well worth a look, not least for the remnarkable image change of Blixa Bargeld, from the video for The Weeping Song, when he and Cave looked like (to use Cave’s own words) ‘two gay businessmen at a disco’, to thre refined cool of the likes of Stagger Lee. I honestly had no idea they were the same person for ages.

Re: VAST in Other Bands & Artists

I think Joe (Jsar) once called them a cross between NIN and U2… Surely there must be a better comparison, somewhere? ;)

Re: VAST in Other Bands & Artists

Just for you, Gav, because I know you like this film:

It’s only a fan vid, but it’s pretty good, and is the whole reason I got into VAST in the first place.

True. And Joy Division, The Damned, Siouxie and the Banshees …

I don’t think The Sex Pistols were directly responsible for The Damned. The Damned were already around before Anarchy In The Uk was released (In a punk documentary I saw, they said they were really excited to hear what this new single everyone was going on about was like, but when they played it, they said it sounded like old man Steptoe. :D )

They also inspired people all over the country to learn to play and to form bands, and that still goes on. Nearly every teenager I know is either in a band or has been in one, or all their mates are in one. That never happened before …

You’re right, Smum, and it’s all the Sex Pistols’ fault! Smum’s right, everybody: death to Johnny Rotten!!

Re: VAST in Other Bands & Artists

Well, among other things, Jon apparently trebled in size.
I only have the first album, but I do love it so.

The facial paralysis is setting in, is it?

Re: Bandykoot / Legacy Rox in Other Bands & Artists

Well, the outfit was a little extra, but I think it was worth it. I would have preferred the French Maid’s costume, but The French Pastry Chef was a little more reasonably priced.

OKay, fine! *hands back deeds to Midgets R Us Ltd* I didn’t want his stupid company anyway. *sulks* *misses midgets*
But I didn’t steal his credit card! *hires lawyer to defend against Dan’s accusations. Using Dan’s credit card*

*shifty* Why? What has Dan been saying?

Re: Bandykoot / Legacy Rox in Other Bands & Artists

Only if someone sits on it, and then you probably couldn’t get it onto your shelf anyway.

Re: ‘a’ in Other Bands & Artists

Of course not, Bomb. That would be like pissing over the side of a boat, and claiming that the ocean was now wet.

No, but they don’t tend to do that during a game.

Re: Madonna Covers Pantera in Other Bands & Artists

Pantera are/were the ‘official’ band of the Dallas Stars (Ice) hockey team. They wrote their opening tune, and Walk is still played at Faceoffs. I appreciate it’s not entirely mainstream, but it kind of is in Dallas. :D

And a follow up question. Where would you rather be shot? The face or the chest? :p

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

I like the idea of Last.fm, but I rarely listen to music in any sort of mp3-type format, so my chart will never be particularly representative. I like the recommended/tagged radio station thingy, though.

Does you TV have much in the way of material possessions, then?

And here it is. If you want to compare them, you’ll have to find your own video of the muppet, though.

Nice one.

Well, everyone who’s heard it seems to like it, so I’ll try saving up my small change. ;)

I think that’s probably my favourite. Pretty minimal, though, so not to everyone’s tastes.
What’s the new one actually like? I mean, if that’s even possible to describe.
