hi all, I just got home from a nice break in fuerteventura. The hotel was invaded by germans (they have a thing with that) and some english (which behaved quite well), but we had a good time.

we did all the touristy stuff, and we went fishing on the sea. There are no pictures of this last event, and consider yourself lucky ;-). something else happened, bu there’s a special thread for that so read it there

next year we will go for the 2H30 time, but then we will prepare. We finished 21850 and 21851 out of 25000 so we weren’t close to the last. I have to admit, I’m proud we made it to the finish :-)

How did your wife’s swimathon go?

I got to the finish line after 3H08 not great but we didn’t prepare at all, so I guess it’s not that bad. No serious injures. My feet hurt, I have some small blisters on my toes, and jurgen’s niples hurt, because of constantly scratching against a wet t-shirt. But that’s all wa have, so I think we did well. I even have a medal :-)

well, I’m going to run the 20km from brussels, and I’m not prepared at all. I hope I will not get a heartattack and that I will reach the finish in time (I have 4 hours to do it). Wish me luck

exam went OK. I had to do a prima vista that was not too hard and my other piece was very flowy and pretty so I think I did good.

I wouldn’t mind playing divers, but I would get in trouble with d or Dan, and that’s a place I don’t want to be in.

And I’m back. Got to the airport alright. Cyprus was just amazing, and our agent is a really cool guy. We managed to sell some things. I’m looking forward to going there again later this year. The hotel was just the top. Check out londa hotel in limasol, the classiest place I have ever been to. I have 2 weeks off now. I look forward to spending some time here talking nonsense with you people, because I missed it a lot

I’m leaving for cyprus this afternoon, and a funny thing happened, my garagedoor is blocked, so the car can’t get out. Normally not a problem, I would take the train, but guess what, they’re on strike, and going by bus is no option, bad connection. because of the train strike, the roads around brussels are clogged up, so I have to leave with my grandfather in half an hour to be sure that i’m in the airport by noon (it will be 9.30 by then), normally it takes half an hour, but now, with 30 km of traffic jams, I hope we will get there in time. It’s one of those days…

it has finally happened. they planted a websense filter on the server, and i can no longer open the WoM at work. This sucks bigtime, but I guess I can understand why they do it. We also had the “great” news that our offices are moving out of brussels, which means an extra 80km for me per day. We’ll see how long I can do that.
Now I’m at home preparing a paper I have to do for music class. I’m never getting it ready in time, and I have a piano exam in 2 weeks and I still can’t play all the pieces. Can you feel the stress :-)

I cannot stand watching cycling on the tv. those commentators just go on and on and on… I do like Mart Smeets as a commentator (on dutch tv) but it’s just impossible to keep saying interesting stuff for 4 hours.

we had the same at our managementdays last week. The 2 ladies from controlling were completely wasted. We had a good laugh about it. As long as nobody got hurt and you kept all your clothes on, you will be fine.

remember my idiot neighbour that wants to sell his new house? He put up an add on this real estate website and he specifically said : no real estate agents please. I came across this today :

The original asking price (without real estate agent) : 459.00€ (incl. VAT)
now : 395.000€ excl. VAT

So it might look like the price has come down, but deary me, it’s gone up with 15.000€!!! So innocent buyers would try to negociate a better price of let’s say 10.000€ less, and think they had a good deal, but they would still be paying 5.000€ more than before. Unbelievable

Ah well, as long as this means they will be out sooner, it’s worth it :-)

Over a year ago, a few months before the last elections in belgium, the RTBF (state TV for the french speaking part of belgium) did a news show pretending belgium had split up (flemish part >< french part). In the beginning of the news, it wasn’t stated that this was just an illustration of what could happen, and that it wasn’t true. There were a lot of panic phonecalls to the TV station, and to the police, really an overall panic in the walloons (sp?).

woohoo my promotion at work is finally confirmed. So european sugar eaters, here I come :). Well, I mean, maltese and cypriotic sugar eaters. Malta is first on the list end of april, and half of may to cyprus
